As to the prayer discussion. I don’t think Schaefer was saying the world will judge us (as in whether or not we are children of God) but rather as humans judge “what kind of Christian thinks that is ok?!!” or “you can count on him because he is a Christian and they keep their word”.
It’s still excellent weather here for today, but muggy will be back tomorrow.
The tree limb left behind by the power company is not from our cedar tree. Another mystery. It is a long limb from a pear tree. The neighbor’s pear is near the cedar, but we could not see that any limbs were off that tree, and there seemingly would have been no reason to take a limb from it and leave it in our yard. Just weird.
a confusing morning. Took me a while to notice but I must have touched something wrong and I was back in 2022. I wasn’t sure what you all were talking about until I finally noticed the date

My neighbors now have the For Sale sign up. And two other houses are up for sale on the adjoining street. One was an obvious flip: sold, quickly renovated, and now readied to sell again. All the older folks are leaving.
Janice, always a little strange to see neighborhoods around us changing … I’d like to see another group of kids on our street although the last ones drove me batty as they’d ride their electric scooters back and forth on the street on Sundays.
NJ, tree trimming going on around here, too. We have a huge ficus in front of the neighbors’ house, a grand, wonderful tree that’s had to have its roots trimmed but has managed to be saved each time.
Speaking of trees, Charlie Brown 2 is doing well, getting SO tall — probably 20-30+ plus feet now; and is also filling out a bit, that’s what it needs the most. But it’s green and healthy.
I’ve been grateful to know the neighbors on both sides of me fairly well. But I realize things will change someday. 😦 Don’t like change.
Instead of going for a walk, I worked on that chunk of a tree in the front yard. It was like the old joke, “How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.” I lopped off what I could and put it in trash containers. Then I used a curved handsaw to cut smaller limbs from the main branch. The main part, probably sixteen feet long, I dragged into our island so it is hidden in the middle behind bushes. I hope son will saw that big part into four foot pieces when he is home again. Thanking God I had the strength to do it.
We had another wonderful Sunday school and church service today. But during the service, a church security guy got Art to go outside with him. All I heard was “car.” Someone had hit his car in the parking lot and left the scene. A police officer saw the person get out of their vehicle and look at the damage and then leave. We were both parked in Handicapped Parking!
Art will wait to see if something can be worked out, if it can be determined who it was, so the person will not be charged with leaving the scene or hit and run. Another day, another mystery.
Oh, sorry about your car, Janice. Was the damage somewhat minor (I hope)? It’s still drivable? But yes, makes sense to just try to contact the person (if he can be identified by church video and work something out that way.
