Busy people day here. Son left today but will return again later in the summer. He id dating a gal, and we are about halfway between where each lives so we are a good stopping point, thankfully.
Prayer time with my ladies group was sweet. There were six of us which is good considering many people are traveling now.
Perfect weather today without the humidity which zaps my energy. The yard is needing to be mown in less than a week since last mown because we have had so much rain.
Re outdoor lighting, I once rented a bedroom in a home that had outdoor lights that could only be reached with a very tall ladder. My roommate left the light on day and night, and after a couple of months it would burn out and we’d be without it for another couple of months. I suggested that since she went out that door to get to her car, she could just turn it on when she left the house in the evening (she worked during the night) and turn it off in the morning, and she wouldn’t hear it. To me, it would have made a lot more sense to have it when she needed it, but not use it when she didn’t need it, and have the bulbs last longer. (I went in and out the front door, so it didn’t matter to me either way, but I thought I made a good suggestion.)
Dusk to dawn. I’ll have to remember the order of that.
My backyard lights (I can reach them using the first step of a step ladder) have been misbehaving over the past several months and, since they were put up probably around 2018, I’m wondering if the unit has worn out. Put in new bulbs about a week ago but that’s not making a big difference.
They are motion detectors but I’m thinking if I have to replace the unit I might go for dusk to dawn.
On, off they go randomly now — but mostly off in the past couple months. I’ve been fiddling with a couple switches on the bottom of the device — but they are impossible to read as the lettering is black and so is the case. So I’ve taken pictures of them and blown them up, but how it’s worded still makes no sense to me.
Last night (Tuesday night) they magically came on again. They were still on when I went to bed. They were off this morning.
Great header photo. What is that plant?
My weekly prayer call happens in a few minutes. I have to find a reading from Psalms to start us out.
It’s a beautiful day with lower humidity expected today after the storms left. So often things appear especially lovely after a stotm passes.

Fleet Week has fled.
Now for the wrap-up story.

Has Fleet Week fled fleetly?

A fast flee.
I’ve sent another email to the tax preparer — both state and fed say they have no info matching my request on ‘where’s my refund.’
So when should I start worrying? (well, I’ve already started worrying … )

I just ordered a verse map journal from thejamesmethod.com
A group of us are going to go over some verses on gratitude this summer. It looks good. I got spiral bound as it is so much easier to write in.

Motion lights?
Or dawn-to-dusk lights (for backyard)

Dusk to dawn to dissuade criminals. Motion to dissuade animals, though they adapt.

DJ – Do you mean dusk-to-dawn, not dawn-to-dusk? The latter one is called the sun. 😀

We have dusk-to-dawn lights on either side of the front door. They are activated each evening when I flip the light switch on in the entryway. 😀

Well, to be more precise, they are sometime-around-dusk-to-whenever-I-get-up lights.
