Please pray that this two-week-or-so visit from Chickadee will go well for all of us. May we not let the little irritations that may develop as the time goes on get to us, and may we all seek to be understanding with each other.
As I said yesterday, my dear Nightingale can be abrasive. I am praying that that aspect of her temperament will not be inflamed by the situation, and that Chickadee will not be repelled by her sister’s occasional abruptness. Pretty much, I am praying that nothing will happen that will deepen Chickadee’s desire to continue living with the McKs.
And if she chose to come home permanently at the end of all of this, that would be nice. (But I am not hanging my hopes on that right now. It would also put more stress on Nightingale, which would be another issue to pray about.)
I realize this is about grieving for her cat, but could you work outside together, deep clean, reorganize the garage, or something so that when Nightingale comes home she sees something has been done that would ease her loads?
Maybe batch cooking, going through photos, whatever, something?

Can she do a project with you during this visit?

Oh, yes, I am planning on asking her to help me with some things that Nightingale hasn’t had time for.
