Good morning, Mumsee, and all, from the near record breaking warmth of Atlanta. It’s sweat time in the city, but not so high humidity so actually quite nice out.
Going to go see Unsung Hero today. Really looking forward to it. Mike Huckabee devoted an entire show to the movie.
Janice, I am so glad that you live in an area where you can get all of those services. They are taking care of you which is so nice in the midst of hardship.
So true, Jo. It is a blessing. One thing they have which I don’t need currently is a program with pharmacies to put some kind of reader on the bottom of a pill bottle to read directions, etc. Who ever knew? And so many don’t know what all is available.
Last night Mumsee joked: “oops. DJ pushed the wrong send button and sent that to the zoom!”
That reminds me of my SIL telling me a few years ago that she had been writing a message to a co-worker, complaining about another co-worker. After sending it, she realized that she had accidentally sent it to the one she was complaining about. 😀
I am tryingvto get motivated to do my PT arm and shoulder exercises. I don’t keep up with them like I should. I start to feel it when I slack off. I’ve walked two miles the past two evenings so I think I will break on that and have no excuse to keep me from the Pat exrrcises.
You know you are getting old when . . .
You are talking to a close friend on speaker phone and her husband interupts our conversation to have a discussion with me about toe nail fungus (the podiatrist I recommended tells patients to use Vick’s Vaporub). I have gotten the doc so much business. Art went to him when sent by our primary care doc. Then I took my brother to him, then my dog-walking friend saw him, and now this couple will see him.
Ok, since we’re on the medical thread, just got back from picking up my doctor-ordered knee brace.
So the theory is this really can heal on its own if one is careful (and wears the brace). I still have a consultation next Tuesday with the orthopedic doctor who did the surgery on my other knee just to get his take on this (but I also found out my GP has failed to send the MRI to them, so I need to get that fixed tomorrow). Not much of a consultation if he doesn’t get the images.
Assistant at another place I saw today for the brace was on the fence about whether I could walk the dog, but thought it would be OK as long as I wore the brace and the walk wasn’t overly long.
But he said to ask the ortho doctor about it next week, which I will do.
Today May 2 is “World Tuna Day” that began in 2016
Observed throughout the coastal zone of the planet the designation was achievement of fishing communities, scientists, and environmentalists who came together to protect tuna schools around the world and help create a sustainable fishing model. Tuna is one of the most vigorous, important, and fascinating fish in the seas when it comes to size, strength, agility, and speed. It is also hugely important for the human economy and nutrition. Tuna species represent 20% of the value of all marine fisheries and more than 8% of all seafood traded globally.
My brother and I have not spoken since we got back from Hilton Head in early January. He sees Art on Saturdays and worked with Art through tax season. He seems to be okay from what Art says. He finished cardiac rehab.
He too easily finds fault and blames me for things so my life is more peaceful without the grief. We will probably get togethe soon as a family when son is home for a meal out. He will probably never visit here again because of Miss Bosley.
When we got home from HH, Art was on the phone with him. From a distance I said to Art to remember to tell bro I’d had a call from the hospital billing dept. trying to reach him. I had been the emergency contact and my phone number was given to people when his monthly purchased phone card went out while staying with us. He was angry at me that I had given them both his numbers. He wanted to talk to me, and Art could tell he was angry. Art told him I was busy, and I was busy unpacking. That was the inciting incident. But it could be anything. I don’t want to give opportunity for his wrath. He has not called me, and I have not called him. Sharing a meal out three times a year is a plenty😅
Can’t remember if I ever said that when we went to have Christmas dinner and exchange gifts at his place at Christmas that he very seriously told me over the phone beforehand that I had to be on “good behavior.”
Janice – I’m so sorry your brother is like that. Some people are so prickly, and think the problem is in others, not them.
It saddens me that my own brother doesn’t want a relationship with me, but I am used to the situation by now. At least I don’t have uncomfortable family situations with him to deal with.
Janice I am so sad that he is missing out on what could be a sweet relationship with his sister. But you are wise in not responding to his acerbic behavior towards you. May the Lord opens his eyes and heart ♥️
This is why I concluded this year that we will not have a goodvrelationship here on earth, but I place my hope in heaven, and do hope we both make it, where bodies and minds are perfected and relationships will be as God meant them to be instead of what they are on this fallen earth.
I am so happy to be in a good church family that Art likes. I have gained some fine brothers in Christ these last few years. And my Bible study ladies keep offering to give me rides before I even ask. I am blessed tremendously by caring Christian friends who are my “blood” relatives.
Janice – I am glad that Art likes the church, too. Attending church together strengthens a marriage.
The way you write about your church is how I feel about mine, too, especially since none of my family is walking with the Lord right now. I am so very grateful for these relationships, and how we build each other up and pray for one another.
Like you, I rely on friends to drive me to church, and I get offers from some whom I haven’t even asked. It is a wonderful blessing.
Good morning all, from beautiful clear frosty Idaho!

And I have thought the same thing about them being “blood relations”. :-)
