  3. Yep.

“Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propaganda minister, once said: “accuse your adversaries of doing what you are doing, so as to create confusion”.

Today, Trump goes on trial in New York for “election interference”.

Brought by a Soros-funded D.A.Before a judge with overt animus for Trump.

A judge whose daughter is making money off the prosecution. Whose clients are fundraising off the prosecution.

It is, indeed, election interference that we are witnessing today.

Carried out by the modern-day Joseph Goebbels.”

  7. Palm 7:11:

    God is a righteous judge,

and a God who has indignation every day.

Good sermon on Moody, talking about we should be ndignant about the injustices of the world though not about the ones about us so much as the big scheme, as God is. The real does that. Though we need to leave vengeance to Him and not attack others. Informed so we know how to pray and how to minister to others.

  8. mumsee, thanks for those reminders.

Pray fervently, respect others, and trust in God and his providence, knowing He is sovereign and there is a purpose to all of it.

  9. Very sad, I wish this hadn’t happened. But I am yet thankful to those believers to follow Christ’s calling at sometimes great risk. It was never promised to be safe or easy. Healing and blessings to this pastor’s church and family and friends.

“He was not a stranger to anyone; if you didn’t know him, he would make sure you got to know him,” said Eric Cummings, who serves on the executive committee of the Florida Baptist Convention, of which Westview is a member. “If there was an opportunity to do something for or learn more about engaging and impacting the community, he was there. I am heartbroken over his death and praying for his wife, children and church family as they navigate this tragedy.”

  10. Also from the article above:

Lenoir’s influence went beyond the Southern Baptist Convention-affiliated FBC as he sought to make a mark in the community. He initiated an after-school program, a tutoring ministry and a summer camp to help local children, he “adopted” a low-income apartment building and provided support services to its tenants, and he served as a chaplain with the North Miami Police Department.

“We want to reach our community and invest whatever resources we have into them,” Lenoir said in a 2019 articleabout his outreaches. “We are trying to model Christ in a practical way.”

  11. When my husband’s union was on strike and they picketed, they never were allowed to block any roads. I do not understand why it is allowed. That is not how protests were done in the past. People blocking major bridges or roadways should be liable for anyone not being able to get medical care in a timely manner.

We were told that the Jewish community in the Minneapolis area have been told to wear nothing that would suggest they are Jewish lest they be assaulted. They were told this by the police. This is a terrible shame on our country and state.

Where is our governor and president when they should be speaking out?

No one on this website is against immigrants, btw. We are against illegal immigration. I doubt Canada lets all kinds of illegal immigrants into their country. I know Mexico jails them if they are from the USA. All countries do have boundaries.

Those who call for death to our country, should leave, if it is so terrible. Of course, they won’t. They like the perks of living here. Shame on those cheering the bombs falling on Israel.

  13. One thing about Bill Maher is that, although he is generally on the left, he cannot be pigeonholed. (Like HRW, who often takes a more moderate stance on a matter than one would expect from a “leftist”.) Maher often has views that skew more right than left. As that article that Janice shared shows, he can take a stand against one liberal view, and then express a liberal view on another matter.

Years ago, in the 1990s, I would sometimes record and then watch his “Politically Incorrect” show that aired late at night on a non-cable station. He often had Jerry Falwell on as a guest, and I was impressed with the respect that Maher showed Falwell. Other guests would sometimes talk over Falwell in opposing him, but Maher would intervene and tell them to let Falwell have his say.

Falwell actually surprised me, as he came across a lot more reasonable, and easy-going, than his reputation would indicate, with a gentle sense of humor. (Or maybe he had mellowed since the 1980s.)

  16. Re: the 3:48 post.

There is no question that asks that specifically, but there are some that come close.

#21 asks: “Do you have any political, moral, intellectual or religious beliefs or opinions which might prevent you from following the Court’s instructions on the law or which might slant your approach to this case? Do you have any political, moral, intellectual or religious beliefs or opinions that would interfere with your ability to render a verdict in this criminal case?”

    #26 also mentions political views.

#29 mentions both pro- and anti-Trump groups.

#34 asks, “Do you have any strong opinions or firmly held beliefs about former President Donald Trump, or the fact that he is a current candidate for president that would interfere with your ability to be a fair and impartial juror?”

And #42, asks, “Is there any reason, whether it be a bias or something else, that would prevent you from being fair and impartial if you are selected as a juror for this case?”

  18. Sure Kizzie, and having the trial on Fridays so Orthodox Jews can’t participate in the jury pool, some of Trump’s biggest supporters, is purely coincidental too, right?

  19. AJ – I was merely pointing out that there are indeed questions referencing the political views of the potential jurors, and if they believe they can remain impartial despite them. That was the only point of my comment.

  20. It has been reported that court lets out early enough that Orthodox Jews can be home in time for Shabbat, which begins at sundown. These days, sundown is coming around 7:30pm on the east coast.
