  1. Good first place for you, Peter!

I was at Punlix trying to shop fast before a big storm arrives. I got it done. A walk in the neighborhood is most likely out of possibilities for today.

I just heard the judges verdict in the Fani Willis case. He’s walking a tightrope and doing a good job of self preservation between two rivers full of crocodiles on one side and alligators on the other.

  2. It’s really windy outside–and has been so since yesterday with trash cans sailing down the street.

The windy warning is up again for today, and some of us are chuckling about bewaring the ides of March.

  3. Peter @11:14: Ya think?

I’m not looking forward to this next period in our country. I have no “horse” in this particular race — other than prayers that the nation survives. Praying that somehow the discourse can stay clear of the worst of the worst that will only turn up the heat. But I’m not hopeful on that point.

    Keep the faith, everyone.

But Friday is always a good day for me, personally, though I have a port commission meeting starting in a little over an hour and another story to finish up besides whatever comes out of the meeting.

Getting a haircut tomorrow, much needed as my hair is constantly in my eyes.

  4. To whomever @11:20 — it was really windy here yesterday, trees coming down up in the Pasadena area, crushing a couple homes (where thankfully no one was home). One was a huge pine tree that had been there for who-knows-how-long.

Sad for homes but also sad for those majestic trees. 😦

  5. Morning! We are seeing at least eight more inches of snow this morning. Wet heavy slush! I would not want to be under a pine tree when the snow releases from the boughs! One clunk on the head and you’d be out like a light! We figured our total snowfall to be 30 inches…husband thinks a full yard stick deep out on the driveway…Spring is just days away!!

  7. ‘whomever’ must have been Janice — hang in there with the storm, glad you have supplies in-house.

We seem to be transitioning to spring here — mostly sunny, still cool but supposed to get warmer in the days ahead, up into the mid-70s.

I was distressed to realize tax deadlines are coming. I have property taxes (which always goes up every year), homeowners’ insurance (which also went up this year) and income taxes (praying for a refund, please …) all coming in just a few weeks? Too much. 😦 😦

  8. Good morning, all. We drove to town this morning to leave twenty two’s meds at the clinic so they could give her her shot. My dad got out and walked around the block. When we got out, I saw a car parked in front of the clinic with the motor running. My two grandchildren but no adult. Grandson rolled down the window to wave, yell hi granny, and tell us they were not allowed to talk with us.then rolled it back up. I imagine that daughter had an appt as she was not in the waiting room or at the desk.

When we returned from our walk, the car was gone but it came back around as we were loading grandpa. Small world.

  9. Yes, I was anonymous.

I’ve since moved a ton of dirt into the backyard (NOW I can get my car into the garage, though there’s still a mound of dirt in the driveway), so I could hang my sheets on the line this gorgeous day in Nor Cal (As Jo already pointed out).

It’s supposed to be 76 this afternoon. Perfect for playing outside.

  10. I was going to say I am not Anon today. The storm turned into nothing. I see sunshine trying to break through so I guess I can walk later.

Politics makes for (e)strange(d) bedfellows (is that the right word?).

  11. Our politics are completely broken at this point, Janice.

I’m beginning to feel nervous about all of it, both “sides” going way off the rails, doesn’t much matter anymore? … A 30-year cruise you say, mumsee? Count me in.

    Praying for the republic.

Luckily, it’s a busy work day for me! lol

  12. I just remind myself that most Christians have never lived in a country with our original government and its freedoms so why should we expect it to stay?

twenty two has decided to withdraw from the sewing class voc rehab has placed her in at her request. Maybe they are beginning to see what they are dealing with.

  14. It seems we have an epidemic of students dying in car crashes at a nearby school. They like to race their cars. Sixteen is too young for students to be out late (unless work related) driving cars fast (100 mph). Not sure that is what killed most of these but I know one that was doing that and her best friend got killed. She was drinking so charged with vehicular homicide.

    5 killed in six months!

  15. I have actually ordered two things. First I ordered Grandpas weeder which takes care of thistles.

Then I ordered a new tankini. The pool opens on April 15th and I know that I need the exercise

  16. Abby’s hanging out on the newly sprouted ground cover (seeds were planted a few years ago and I’d long since given up on them — God chooses His time for blessing).

Meeting done, story done, art added … on to next story which is mostly written but needs work and some additions. Sigh. Long Friday for me.

(and yes, we do still live in a country that remains something of an experiment)
