Who is the picture from? I would think Kare, but then again the snow has been in strange places all winter. My daughter, who used to post here, found herself in a white out recently. Turns out it was just a little stretch of blizzard. Friends just a bit away from her had little or no snow.
It seems like April around here. Fire concern is real.
We had one of those kinds of days (like the header) a couple of weeks ago, right after the trees had started budding out (which they did extra early this year–one or two before Valentine’s Day, and I don’t start watching for that till March 1).
Sadly RKessler, I do not. I can barely move my left leg at all, other than wiggling the foot. I can’t stand on my own, not long with help, even with the walker. Walking isn’t happening. Waiting to hear back from the Dr. now.
The snow pic is one from around here. We’ve had a couple of decent ones.
Prayed for AJ as I waited for the blog to appear and praying again now that I know. Bowing my head low to pray for whatever the need God already knows AJ has now. Please, Lord, give AJ quick processing and a good accurate diagnosis. Let things fall into place in good ways for him and Cheryl today. May he feel Your loving hand of protection and healing aiding him as before. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
Praying as well. I’m so sorry your getting hit with these complications in the aftermath.
We will get some more rain today (remnants of the storm up north). Saw this on “X”:
~ What an unbelievable comeback California’s snowpack has made this year, going from just 28% of normal on January 1 to 104% of normal today. This pretty much guarantees that California will be drought-free again this summer for the second year in a row ~
Morning! Aw Aj we covering still in prayer…Lord bring resolution to it all!!
Our pines will look like that by tomorrow…but that photo is so peaceful and calming to me!! Great shot!
Lowes guys are here and installing the dryer! So thankful!
I was up late last night attempting to reunite a lost doggie with her human. A sweet young friend in town call me late and asked for help. While at the post office a dog (appears to be cattle dog/border collie) jumped into her car! She asked if I wanted another dog. After seeing a photo I told her someone was missing their little love and I was going to find them! Lo and behold there was a photo on the missing dog FB page! A medical care worker was trying to help a patient find her dog…the dog who jumped out of the car when she parked in the office lot right across from the Post office!! Through many back and forths, having to join the pet FB page and wait for approval…we connected! Last night at 10:30 little Mia was transferred to the medical care worker in front of a local grocery store! She then took Mia to her “mom” and it was a joyous reunion!! So thankful to our Lord for working it all out. Like my sweet young friend Zoe said “it was a perfect Hallmark movie ending”! Nj
Took another squad ride as no one could get me to the car. It was excruciating. Yjey have taken blood, and fluid from the knee. They think k there’s an infection. Looks like I’m at least spending the night at the hospital.
I was wondering about how you were going to get out to (and into) the car, glad you were able to get there and get treated – but so very sorry for the setback. We continue in prayer, of course.
I ask the Lord to hold you up and impart strength to you when you sense you are at your weakest. May you find encouragement in the midst of it all..a kind word, a warm smile. Asking Him to show you reminders of His great love and presence in your lives. We love you both so very much. Nj
We are off to a gig at a dementia care facility. We go once a month there. There is a regular gig tomorrow at another facility, however, we will be leaving for a week’s vacation with our daughters and most of our grandchildren. I am so looking forward to it even though I am sure we will be exhausted. That is a good exhausted, however.
Morning! We have blue sky and sunshine instead of the forecasted snow! We are now hearing it will move in this afternoon…we shall see. For now I am enjoying this sunshine!
Kathaleena that sounds like a wonderful get away with family. Many sweet memories to be made!
Sunshine this morning to help dry things out. The Charlie Browns look green and happy. And Abby also looks perkier now that the rain has let up once again. We had to skip her walk last night.
I have 2 stories to get done today, still waiting on a phone interview with one of our congress members.
Looking like I will get a floating holiday finally taken tomorrow, but I already have a GP checkup and a couple other errands slated to get done.
Today is beautiful! Son is here for Spring Break. We went for an early lunch at Downwind, on the deck overlooking the runways. My retired missionary friend enjoyed her cheeseburger. Son had a hamburger and I got the wonderful baramundi. My friend is well read and advised son on books from SE Asia that he might enjoy. Since he now teaches a bit of World Lit he was happy to get to know my friend who speaks his language: Bookish.
Another friend is now talking about moving to Canada or at least Vrrmont if a certain person is elected. We live near each other but never see each other, only talk on the phone. I said it would be the same if she moved;; we’d still talk on the phone.
So they gave me a course of antibiotics because of the off blood counts overnight. Now they’ve started me on 2 meds, one for the pg, one for inflation. I will be here for at least another night. ☹️
So talk to somebody about Jesus while you are there. And keep your eyes on the King so people will see the Light and Joy and Peace and want it for themselves! Opportunity knocks, don’t slam the door.
Cheryl and I just talked to the Dr. again. When I am released it looks like they’re gonna recommend a short stay in a rehab facility to get me walking again. ☹️
Sounds like a good idea, the real. It will free up your wife of any fears she is missing a step, so she can just visit with you and rest up for when you do get home. Had to be scary for her.
Thankful for rehab and good PT folks. It will be a blessing for Cheryl and a benefit to you, AJ. God can work wonders in a rehab facility. Praising Him for answers.
That’s why I agreed to it Mumsee, so I wouldn’t increase the burden on Cheryl. She does so much already and adding to that would do neither of us any good.
We had to celebrate Art’s birthday early while son was here. I served a quickly put together fake strawberry short cake. I bought a little loaf butter pound cake, organic strawberries, and organic vanilla ice cream. Not as good as the home baked cake and fresh whipped cream, but still pretty good. The birthday tree is blooming and should be in full bloom on his actual birthday. But we are expecting another tremendous rain storm tomorrow which may take down some of the blooms.
Had to fight for it w/HR in Denver, but I finally won a day off today for a belated personal day that failed to be available when it should have been on my electronic timecard. It was probably more trouble than it was worth as I have lots of vacation time, but now I’m glad I won the battle.
Turned in 2 stories yesterday so that covered me for today and for a story to run over the weekend.
So glad the election here is over; November will be easier if only because there will be limited candidates to cover and keep track of on election night (unlike the crowded fields we have during the free-for-all primary).
I probably won’t be commenting, since we will be on vacation. I will be praying, though. Aj, I bet there are those who need prayer and maybe a little cheer in the place you will be. Hope it is a very short visit.
Got into the mire with Liberal friend. We can’t talk politics. Life is just so messy these days.
I have never known a time in my life when I have had to “hide” so many things from people to avoid conflict. This week I have not revealed that son was home because it would hurt my friend’s feelings because she has not heard from her daughter since before Christmas. I did not reveal to one Christian friend that I had gotten together with another Christian friend because first friend would have been mad. And I did not tell Bro that Son was home. I know, I am a conflict avoider. I just don’t like that I have to feel ilke a sneak to keep the peace.
Ok so they switched up some meds today. The knee swelling is down quite a bit, it also helped some with the pain. PT/OT was in today. I was actually able to get up out of bed with a little leap, patterned around with the walker, and sat in a chair for a couple hours. It felt good.
Now once I’m medically cleared I will be released to a rehab facility. One type is more intensive, a hospital type setting. The other is less intensive, more nursing home type of a facility, but will take longer.
The issue is none of the quicker, intensive type are within 20 miles of home, and their hours wouldn’t allow Cheryl to be able to visit due to work.
This is quite upsetting to Cheryl obviously, but since it gets me home quicker it is probably the option we will take.
We could use prayer as we make our decision over the next day or two.
Today is the two year anniversary of Chas death. Linda Shull posted a picture of on of his great grandsons at the Kennedy space center pointing at one of his maps
I was happy to see AJ was now leaping, but, alas, a typo …
Janice, this is a difficult period and friendships are more important than politics; remembering the faith and how we are to act is especially more important than politics.
And I really don’t want to argue with people I like; too often political debate or discussions, no matter how well intentioned when they begin, wind up causing hard feelings. Better to back out and practice biblical grace.
The next 8 months will likely get ugly in the public square. We have two volatile, irritable candidates for president who will be throwing punches.

I use the header picture as a barometer for how he is doing today. Same picture, not feeling well, could use extra prayers.

So they’ve eliminated the septic arthritis diagnosis. White count is high, but now nearly what it would be for that diagnosis.
They got some results from the cultures they running and it looks like something called pseudogout.

I just ordered a kindle book by an author/theologian who has been recommended here by M — Chad Bird.

Not always walking, definitely not always running here. So it seemed like I could relate.
