  5. Or you could just reinstate Trump policies and seal the border you opened instead.

We don’t need more DHS babysitters for the invaders, we need to expel the invaders.

  7. If last night’s goal was to fend off a last-ditch challenge from Gavin Newsom and beat everyone’s pitlike expectations, and if shouting stamina counts, then Joe got the job done. In its non-paywalled article, the New York Times’ headline concluded, “In-Your-Face Biden Takes on Trump and His Own Doubters.” This description from the Times’ article seemed pretty accurate:

(Biden) exhibited his stamina, his vitality, his capacity and, yes, his umbrage. Defiant and feisty, he dispensed with the conventions of the format to directly take on former President Donald J. Trump and attempted to make the election a referendum on his predecessor rather than himself. Mr. Biden shouted his lines, clearly intending to use volume to demonstrate vigor. The prepared text had 80 exclamation points in it and he surely added more on his own as he went along.

While Joe’s Big Speech was a lot of elderly sturm und drang, it symbolized nothing. Joe’s loud remarks fit into five emphatic but insubstantial categories: false claims about his record (thanks to me, seniors can now afford their prescription drugs forschwearingden!), false claims about the state of the country (the FBI says violent crime is at record lows!), demands for Republicans to do stuff (send me a damn border bill!), slams on President Trump (my predecessor…), and somehow speechwriters crammed in the entire laundry list of longstanding, loony, liberal policy dog treats (it’s time for big corporations and billionaires to pay their fair share!).  Politico noticed that Joe talked a LOT about CIA-riddled Ukraine and his mortal enemy, Putin, but not so much about an Israeli cease fire, Yemen, Iran, China, Taiwan, or any other foreign policy hotspot.

Surprisingly, CNN ran a pretty fair fact check, which found most everything Biden said to be either an outright lie, a lie by omission, or misleading.

I’ve always thought the DB a trash outlet. That story confirms I’m correct in my assessment.

  10. Grieving father to become Biden’s next political prisoner.

Gold Star father Steven Nakoui was arrested last night and is now being charged with disrupting Congress and faces up to 5 years in prison.

His son Kareem was one of the victims in the Abbey Gate attack during Biden’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal. He lost his tempter last night and began shouting when Biden bragged about how safe Americans are under his leadership.

When a Gold Star father bashed Trump he was given a large platform by the media, gave speeches at different events, and went on the news multiple times. When one has negative opinions on Joe Biden he’s silenced immediately and arrested.

The Biden administration is turning America into a full blown police state. When will democrats wake up?”

  12. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) shouted at Biden to say the name of Laken Riley, the young Georgia nursing student who was allegedly murdered late last month by a Venezuelan national.

“Lincoln Riley!” Biden said. “An innocent young woman who was killed by an illegal. That’s right. But how many of the thousands of people being killed by illegals? To her parents, I say, my heart goes out to you having lost children myself. I understand.”

Greene fired back at Biden on social media, writing: “Joe Biden’s policies killed Laken Riley. He finally tried to say her name, but couldn’t even say it correctly. It’s an absolute disgrace.”

  13. Email from my congressman in part:

He refuses to take accountability for the border crisis he alone created. Instead, he continues to blame Republicans in Congress. The White House claimed early on in the Biden Presidency that revoking Trump’s immigration policies would allow the Biden administration “to set civil immigration enforcement policies that best protect the American people and are in line with our values and priorities.” The death of Laken Riley, a 22 year old nursing student from Georgia who was killed by an illegal immigrant and known criminal, proves this to be a flat out lie.

Yesterday, I, along with my House Republican colleagues passed the Laken Riley Act, or H.R. 7511, by a vote of 251-170. This bill requires the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to issue detainers and take custody of illegal aliens who commit crimes. This legislation further denounces Biden’s border policies, and states that the Administration should end catch and release, reinstate Remain in Mexico, and end the abuse of parole authority.

I send my sincerest condolences for Laken and her loved ones. Her tragic case is an example of providing leniency to an illegal criminal that never should have been released into the U.S. Rather, he should have been arrested and detained for his past crimes.

It is time for the safety of American citizens to be treated as a top priority. As your Congressman, I will continue to vote for measures that do just that.

Astounding that 170 voted AGAINST this act….yes…they live amongst us!

  14. I don’t know anything about The Daily Beast. I just posted that because it was the first source I saw with the full recording of the rebuttal.

Both Biden and Trump will be in Georgia tomorrow. It’s supposed to be stormy in the a.m. Not surprising, lol

  16. I think she did not have the typical brash delivery of someone trying to use the limelight as a stepping stone to election to a higher office. That was refreshing. I think she spoke more on the level of the general population who feel lost and bewildered by what all has changed in our nation during Biden’s first term. She expressed vullnerability in her voice which was honest, but being from the south, it probably sounded exagerated although it may be her natural way of speaking. I think younger people, especially young parents, could relate well with what she said.

  17. The opposing-party rebuttal task for these State of the Union speeches is a thankless one, and I feel for those tapped for it. While it’s an opportunity, too often they come off as stilted and awkward and I think this one was no exception.

I watched it live and thought much of it seemed odd, with too many abrupt mood and tone changes, going back and forth, some of it too over-dramatic; I thought the ‘bless his heart’ line fell flat.

But the fault likely was with the behind the scenes prep and ‘coaching’ she received, combined with the usual setting (I did like her kitchen sink faucet and I spent too much time looking at that).

  19. I think that’s a female thing, NJ. 🙂

I don’t take issue with what she said, but just found the delivery odd, it seemed coached and not natural to me. Not her fault, it was how she was told to deliver it, but it was distracting to me.

As I said, it’s a thankless role that rarely comes off well no matter who or what side is stuck with it.

But it was a very nice faucet.

  20. I think it would have just been more effective had they just let her wear her “US Senator” hat — at a podium and with a less emotional / over-wrought delivery style, more professional.

  24. This is what election fraud looks like.

“BREAKING: Sheriff Dar Leaf reveals he has been investigating key players in the Michigan 2020 election including Dominion CEO John Poulos, Dominion employees and contractors, Jocelyn Benson, AG Dana Nessel, and others.

“My department is in possession of sensitive documents that are part of an ongoing investigation involving Dominion employees. These Dominion employees directed, and tasks Serbian foreign nationals to remotely access the Michigan election system.

“Sheriff Leaf said this in response to a subpoena that was sent to his office to hand over his law enforcement file. This is obviously an attempt to stop his investigation. The dark forces in control of Michigan must be panicking”

Note that Joe’s event was moved to a side room off of the main event hall (see below). What do you believe are the odds that this ploy was to obfuscate the fact that there were very few people who showed up.

Interestingly, you can see joe’s sparely attended event was held just off the much larger area. Notice in the back you can see the stage Trump would have been speaking from were he there.

Oh, and in front of wall-to-wall patriots – and an overflow crow 2-3x of that.

But Joe got 81 million votes. 😁Trump’s event today for comparison. “

  27. Trump spoke in Rome, GA, not Athens. Athens is the town where Laken got shot at UGA. Rome is a totally different town to the west, not too far from Al. Athens is east and maybe north of Atlamta. Rome is where Berry College/Universiyy is located. It is associated with Truett Cathy and Chick-fil-A (or has been in the past). It is the largest college campus in the world.
