  1. Thankful, AJ, that you are able to do this service. Glad you have made so much progress on your recovery. Praising God for that.

I was supposed to help deliver books to Prison Alliance this morning but got to feeling sick and threw up. Did not want to take a chance on going so here I am.

The sewer dept. left a notice that we should not use the water from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. We got up early, and I made breakfast and ate an hour early. Maube that is what caused my sickness. Now I have things I need to wash, but I can’t run the machine😒

  2. Congratulations!

Have a dreaded political scandal story to try to do today on one of the la school board candidates, I hate political stories. Editor does, too.

Tomorrow I will be off to head back into the DMV for the third time to try to get this license finally renewed. Sheesh. What an ordeal. I’ll be taking some of the practice tests online again tonight in hopes of remembering enough to pass the test this time. This will be my 2nd try, we get 3.

Caught up with my best friend from high school last night, as usual, we talked for more than an hour — she’s near the coast in the state of Washington and I always love these conversations we have now. Too infrequently, but so fun to reminisce about our long summer breaks spent at the beach, our mutual David McCallum crush, the beach, seeing the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl, the beach, swapping locker notes at school, the beach …

Plus we also get caught up on what’s going on now in our lives, of course, life’s ups and downs, our mutual concern over the scary state of US politics. She’s a believer but not sure she’s in a church right now, though she did mention a small group Bible study in one of her texts.

It’s a bit cloudy here this morning and still very cool, some light rain expected in a few days, but the sun is coming back at last. Abby was very happy to get back to her walks yesterday.

  3. So the visiting nurse was supposed to take blood this morning. She made multiple attempts but was unsuccessful. It seems after the 20 IVs I had in the hospital, and numerous blood taking since then, that most of my reachable veins in my arms and hands have scarring which won’t allow successful blood draws. Never heard of such a thing. So now I have to go to the lab where they will use an ultrasound to find a good spot. Yay.

    It never ends.

  4. Art has rolling veins. No fun either. I never knew about the ultrasound aternative to a hundred tries! So sorry for the extra trip and time but thankful to hear about that.

We got up to 70° today. I have not been out. I threw up this morning and did not get to go on a trip to carry bopk donations to the prison ministry. I took Mucinex for a stuffy nose this afternoon.

We got up an hour earlier because the sewer folks said I should restrict water usage between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. i may have thrown up ftom having such an early breakfast. The sewer people never showed up. Now they say it will be tomorrow instead. Will they never finish?

  5. AJ, my husband heard about the ultrasound specialists when he was in the hospital a year and a half ago. After decades of regular medical treatments, his veins are very scarred, too, and he won’t let anyone else other than that team touch him. It’s a blessing to have that option.
