Prayer Requests 12-1-23

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the nestlings.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 127

A song of ascents. Of Solomon.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
    the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
    and stay up late,
   toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
    offspring a reward from him.
Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court.

  1. Praying especially for mumsee and family. I was thinking of you when I read that we should not weary of doing good. Praying to the God who heals and opens eye, ears and hearts.

  2. Please pray for Mike, my friend Cindy’s husband. Cindy is my age, but Mike is about or almost 20 years older (around 80). He has been battling emphysema for years, and it has gotten worse in the last few, meaning he has to be on an oxygen tank. He often gets pneumonia, and ends up hospitalized and then in rehab for a while. But he always bounces back.

After this last time, he is not bouncing back too well. Cindy says that he is tired and weak, and she is concerned.

I know that Mike probably doesn’t have a long time left to live (and he has a DNR), but I am praying – for Cindy’s sake and the family’s sake even more than his – that he will rally once more, and make it through at least into the new year, if not longer. Please pray along with me.

  3. My dad appears to be doing fine today. He is out getting his walk in. His oxygen is ninety five. No complaints.

I shall just take another nap, thank you.
