Prayer Requests 10-13-23

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the nestlings.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 90

A prayer of Moses the man of God.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
    or you brought forth the whole world,
    from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You turn people back to dust,
    saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
A thousand years in your sight
    are like a day that has just gone by,
    or like a watch in the night.
Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
    they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new,
    but by evening it is dry and withered.

We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins in the light of your presence.
All our days pass away under your wrath;
    we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
    or eighty, if our strength endures;
   yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
    Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
    that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
    that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
    for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
    your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
    establish the work of our hands for us—
    yes, establish the work of our hands.

  1. Thanking the Lord those littles have good guardians for now at least.

    So many prayers for so many going up. How fabulous we have a God who desires relationship and communication!

  2. Prayers continue for the boy and so many other children who live in such confusing and frightening times both socially and personally. Thanking God for grandmothers and others who minister in various ways.

  3. I am not trying to be a threadhog, but I would appreciate prayers for my husband’s music group as they do a routine gig in an assisted living facility today. They do a variety of music. Pray they include just the right songs, too, that lift others towards the Lord and his work in their lives.

    Also, there is a man who has moved in, who has had some mental issues to the point of having to leave a church. Pray he does not make a disturbance if he comes to hear the music. He is a believer, but seems in trouble mentally.

  4. Praying, Kathaleena, and apologies for not being clear though I am certain God has it all sorted out. We are still guardians of twenty two year old. The hospital’s solution was the same as the other times she was hospitalized: keep her until they get eight hours of good behavior and until they need her bed. Husband and children say she was marginally improved but still quite profane and hyper talking.

    We still wait on custody plans for the children. An HW worker will be here today to interview them again to try to help in the judge deciding custody. Son in law and daughter have court later this month to determine if the protective order remains in place or not. Then in November to hear if they are divorced and who gets how much custody.

  5. Prayers over it all knowing God loves children and always wants the best situations for them. My heart breaks to hear of children in harm’s way. Like the Jewish children. And now ones on the otut her side. May they all be given opportunity to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.

  6. The social hall was standing room only today and the music went well. The man I spoke of did come to listen for a while, but all was well. It was fun to see so many people enjoying themselves. Many sang along with some of the songs. A couple danced. A young woman came with a toddler and a baby. She stopped to visit with anyone who seemed interested in the baby. Such joy for those who seldom see babies anymore.
