Prayer Requests 10-9-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 85

For the director of music. Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.

You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
    you restored the fortunes of Jacob.
You forgave the iniquity of your people
    and covered all their sins.
You set aside all your wrath
    and turned from your fierce anger.

Restore us again, God our Savior,
    and put away your displeasure toward us.
Will you be angry with us forever?
    Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
Will you not revive us again,
    that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your unfailing love, Lord,
    and grant us your salvation.

I will listen to what God the Lord says;
    he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants—
    but let them not turn to folly.
Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
    that his glory may dwell in our land.

10 Love and faithfulness meet together;
    righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
    and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,
    and our land will yield its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
    and prepares the way for his steps.

  1. No word from the hospital to pick her up so hoping they at least kept her overnight.

    In other area, daughter came to pick up the children this morning, claiming she had not been served. Prayer for resolution on that front.

  2. Prayers for a world potentially on the brink this morning.

    Also that the U.S. may somehow be able to muster up some unity within its own borders, it may well be needed sooner than we think. Perhaps it’s wise right now to set aside the Republican-Democrat sniping in lieu of what’s going on? There’s something much bigger than us unfolding, in case some hadn’t noticed.

    Surely a time to be in prayer for our leaders, like them or not — prayer for wisdom and strength and that our own people can refrain from just carrying on as usual, bickering amongst themselves on ‘social media.’ But I may be asking too much. 😦

    It’s not all about “us.”

    Praying for our president and Congress.

    And praying especially for the victims, the hostages, their families and all civilians of all stripes who find themselves in harm’s way.

    Lord, have mercy. -dj

  3. Grateful that former editor’s daughter and family in Israel came to the US to celebrate the Sukkot Jewish holiday (Oct. 6) with her parents this year — before all of this horror erupted in their adopted homeland — and have been safely here with them throughout it all. They are all devastated watching this unfold. -dj

  4. Heavenly Father Who knows all and sees all and holds the universe together in Your omnipotent power,
    I pray for the situation that continues to unfold there and here. I lift up foremost the unsaved and ask that You would save more. Thank You for hesitating for the ultimate endtime so more may be saved from eternal damnation. I ask that You will ease the heartaches and sufferings of those in warzones and that peace can soon be restored. May it not be an outward peace but inward that will be lasting. Thank You for unity where there has been division. Please resolve the matter of no Speaker of the House so government here can meet effectively. You are well aware of the major failings of the frail clay pots here in the USA and around thd world. May those who know Jesus as Lord and Savior become a powerful force for good at this rime of need. I pray in Jesus’ precious name, Amen

    A prayer request from East Coast sister to pass along. Thank you for praying.

    I received this text from her tonight:

    “Could you guys pray for our dear friends from our old church in Virginia? They’re stuck in Tel Aviv Israel and thought they’d be on their way home by now. Another terrorist attack drove their group to another shelter. They have a lot of young adult children 5 or 6 I believe.”
