  1. Yay Democrats!

    That’s whose responsible here, along with their pro-crime DA, and the clueless voters who support them.

    “US Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas carjacked by three armed attackers about a mile from Capitol”

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/us-rep-henry-cuellar-carjacked-034327635.html

    “U.S. Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, was carjacked Monday night by three armed attackers, his office said.

    Cuellar’s chief of staff Jacob Hochberg released a statement saying: “As Congressman Cuellar was parking his car this evening, 3 armed assailants approached the Congressman and stole his vehicle. Luckily, he was not harmed and is working with local law enforcement.”

    Hochberg said police recovered Cuellar’s vehicle.

    The Washington Post reported that the robbery happened in Washington’s Navy Yard area, about a mile from the U.S. Capitol.

    Monday’s carjacking was the second assault on a member of Congress in the District of Columbia this year. In February, Democratic Rep. Angie Craig of Minnesota was assaulted in her apartment building, suffering bruises while escaping serious injury. Her chief of staff said the attack did not appear to be politically motivated.”

    “Whoopi, Hostin Suggest GOP Plot Behind Why Bowman Pulled Fire Alarm”

    https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/nicholas-fondacaro/2023/10/02/whoopi-hostin-suggest-gop-plot-behind-why-bowman-pulled-fire

    “Over the weekend, we saw the liberal media rush to spread New York Democratic Representative Jamaal Bowman’s disinformation that he set off a fire alarm in a House office building because he thought that’s how doors worked. But, on Monday, a couple of the radical liberals on ABC’s The View had their own conspiratorial theories. According to both moderator Whoopi Goldberg and racist co-host Sunny Hostin, the door he was trying to get through was closed as part of a Republican plot to stop him from voting.

    Despite the fact Bowman and his office admitted he set off the fire alarm, faux conservative Alyssa Farah Griffin asserted he “allegedly pulled a fire alarm.” “He claims that it was because he was trying to get to the House floor,” she added while pivoting her words to admit he did pull the alarm. “The video seems — or the pictures suggest otherwise.”

    Hostin decried any suggestion that Bowman pulled a “stunt” and cooked up a conspiracy theory that there was an ulterior and nefarious reason the emergency exit Bowman was trying to get through was closed: “I know Jamal, and so again, I’m a little biased, but the doors that are normally open so that he could get to the chambers to read were somehow miraculously closed. How did that happen?”

    She equated it to being stuck in an elevator and pushing all the buttons in a blind panic. “And so, yes. Sometimes you’re freaking out and you’re in an elevator and you’re pressing all the buttons!” she shouted.

    Goldberg suggested the only “stunt” going on was from Republicans in wanting Democrats to read the Continuing Resolution to fund the government in a short amount of time. This also, according to her, included Republicans closing the emergency exit to sabotage Bowman, thus it was reasonable for him to pull the fire alarm:

    People who pull this kind of stunt who say — and you only have three minutes to read it. I kind of think, “Oh, all right. Well, maybe.” Because I know I would have pressed everything if you told me I had to get in there. I would have pressed whatever I had to press to get the door open because I know you would expect me not to be there to vote so you don’t know.

    This wasn’t the first time The View had cooked up a wild, unsupported conspiracy theory putting Republicans at the center of clandestine plots to sabotage Democrats. Back in January, they suggested Republicans were the reason “behind” why there were classified documents in President Biden’s Delaware garage. They also suggested it was GOP ninjas who broke into the White House and “planted” the cocaine in the West Wing.

    What made Goldberg’s Monday argument even more ridiculous was that she suggested she didn’t know what fire alarms looked like.

    That argument morphed from it just looked like a random, unmarked button on the wall to ALL alarms having glass covers that need to be broken to she couldn’t make out what the fire alarm looked like despite it being shown to them on a giant screen:”

    “Reporters or Accessories? The Media’s Coverage of the Biden Allegations”

    https://themessenger.com/opinion/accessory-reporters-media-biden-allegations-hunter-biden-laptop

    “For some in the media, no allegation that might link President Joe Biden to unethical or even criminal behavior seems to be considered credible or worth investigating. Times have certainly changed. I remember when any hint of impropriety involving the White House administrations of Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and, most especially, Donald Trump would catapult journalists into action, seeking to discover whether any of the suggested improprieties could be connected to those presidents.

    I had no problem with that. In fact, I strongly support the practice because that is the role of journalists, especially investigative reporters: follow the facts to the truth, no matter the reporter’s personal feelings or biases they may harbor toward an individual or entity under investigation.

    Many people believe that the ethical and professional conduct of some journalists and news organizations went out the window with the dawning of the Age of Trump. Soon after the New York City businessman declared his intention to seek the presidency in June 2015, many journalists began to openly declare their disdain, even hatred, for him.

    Then, during the 2020 election, with seemingly little or no investigation, a report about the content found on Hunter Biden’s laptop was categorically labeled “Russian disinformation” by much of the mainstream media, with a large assist from more than 50 former U.S. intelligence officials, the Biden White House, and President Biden himself, who vigorously answered “Yes, yes, yes,” when asked if he believed the laptop contained Russian disinformation.

    Case closed, apparently. No need for those in the media to do their jobs.

    Except, of course, the Russian disinformation label turned out to be untrue. Many liberal-leaning news organizations were forced to grudgingly acknowledge that the Hunter Biden laptop story was not Russian disinformation, and might have tentacles leading beyond Hunter Biden.

    Now, we have another story involving Hunter Biden — that he allegedly received $260,000 from Chinese business interests during his father’s presidential campaign, with Joe Biden’s address on the wire transfer.

    Is that a “bombshell” finding, as some believe? Shouldn’t Joe Biden’s address on a wire transfer catapult journalists into action to try to connect, refute or explain any dots related to this allegation? Apparently not, for far too many journalists.”

  8. That was not a fire alarm as pictured above. I don’t believe any of his ridiculous explanations, however. This was actually a door that opens and has to be closed within 3 seconds or the alarm will sound. Three seconds is long enough to react unless a person is in some way impaired. Lying about it only makes it worse.

    The teacher’s union is quite upset with all the conservatives running for school board in MN.

    The trouble with laws based on falsehood is that the effects can fall on anyone. I pity the innocent the most but am not happy about anyone falling victim to others.

  9. The concept that God is sovereign over political powers has been discussed here before.

    ~~~ “Long before we reach the famed Son of Man in Daniel 7, it’s clear God rules over history, especially when his people seem to be on the wrong side of it. The book starts with the dreadful events of Jerusalem’s destruction at the hands of Babylon’s Nebuchadnezzar. Tragedy! Yet there’s comfort amid it all: “The Lord gave Jehoiakim . . . into his hand” (1:2).
    Heaven, it turns out, is less about God’s postcode and more about his power. Even the dismantling of Jerusalem’s worship system (v. 2), the capture of its political elite (vv. 3–4), and the reconstituting of it for Babylon’s purposes and identity (vv. 5–7) come under his remit. All this before we ever read these words about earthly leaders in the book’s second half: “As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away” (7:12).
    Which is a reminder, of course, that their dominion was first given. That’s where the rubber hits the road for Christians in the political sphere. All dominion is given. And if given externally, then taken away externally too. Not simply at the ballot box but by the God of heaven.
    Christians shouldn’t rage against the rise of political leaders with whom they disagree. They mustn’t hate and scorn them. They need not. Even if there were no New Testament advice on how to pray for pagan leaders, there’s the cast-iron truth of Daniel chapter 1: the Lord gives and the Lord takes away.
    This has two implications. First, Christians can call secular leaders to account with grace and humility. Even the tone and shape of our political disagreements must adorn the gospel. Second, Christians who are in political power must maintain the tension of holding moral certainty with political reality. It cannot be the case that the winner takes it all.
    The fact that God is in heaven is a liberating reality for Christians as political exiles: it spares us the overreach we’ll be prone to when we hold political power and spares us the despair we so often see in the evangelical subculture when power is lost.” ~~~
    “OF COURSE Kevin McCarthy needs to be replaced.
    We demanded that he move to impeach Joe Biden.
    He did a go-nowhere inquiry instead.
    He told us he would release the J6 tapes which would undoubtedly have blown up the Democrats INSURRECTION narrative.
    He still hasn’t done it.
    And we keep asking him to stop sending money to Zelensky.
    He continues giving them whatever they ask for.
    What good is a Speaker who never respects the wishes of his constituents?
    Vacate McCarthy, put a real Republican in to do the job.”
