  1. Such a sweet tweety to begin the day!

61° to start here. My kind of weather.

Things have calmed down on the homefront since Miss Bosley has a new purple litter box, food, and water bowls in the bedroom where she will be kept away from Bro as much as possible. He is armed with water spray bottles for her times outside of confinement. Catering to King Rehab! This too shall pass! Stronger by the day, thankfully. Keep praying for an extremely fast recovery, please.

  2. Morning! Pretty bird. 😊

Praying for healing quickly and softening heart for your brother…whether it be a still small voice in his ear or a thundering boom of conviction May he hear from the Lord to be thankful for the ministering hands of his sister…and paws of her cat!! 🐱 Nj

  3. Yes, Kizzie, I agree all children learn at different rates. Just as children can be pushed when they shouldn’t, they can be held back when it is not necessary. That does make it a challenge with many children in one classroom. Kudos to dedicated teachers.

    Good morning to everyone.

  4. Learning to read brings back many memories when teaching my children. They were all taught to read from an 1800’s primer. They knew how to read by the time they were in kindergarten, knowing their abc’s, numbers and colors etc.
Third child’s kindergarten teacher was upset that daughter had been taught phonics as that year sight recognition was the popular thing to teach in this school. That was done to second daughter which was difficult for her as it was undoing what she had been taught. She is not a happy reader to this day…she does enjoy audio books however.
I was the teacher’s helper in all my children’s early classes at school. I helped during reading circle and spelling. The teachers were relieved of trying to teach the entire 20 or so children at one time as many were at differing levels.

  5. Hang in there, Janice & Miss Bosley.

So maybe it’s true that cats will gravitate to the very person in a household who doesn’t like cats?

I really would enjoy another cat … So would Abby.

Our former longtime state representative in this area has died so looks like I’ll write that up day; he’s been out of office for a number of years but was in the state Assembly for a long time.

    It’s almost Friday, kids. 🙂

  6. From yesterday, I hate all day kindergarten. We were flexible and several years waited until the last term as the class was younger.

Phonics and sight words. At the child’s pace

  7. We had the benefit of two years of Kinder. First year was half a day and play oriented. The second was full day and much more academic. It was such a wonderful blessing to have both of those church school socialization experiences before doing the 1-12 homeschool. The first Kinder was Methodist and the second was Presbyterian.
