  1. We’re attending a wedding next month and the bride-to-be is putting together her song list–one more item on an interminable list of things to do.

I suggested she ask her friends what songs they like to hear at weddings–to dance to.

Suggestions? What’s your favorite wedding dance music?

  2. Good morning!

    I have never attended a wedding with dancing. I don’t have a clue😀

I am tired. We stayed at home and not at Hotel Hospital last night. The doc said to go home and reserve our energy as we wait for a surgery space to open between emergency surgeries.

  3. Wedding dances can be so fun. Our most recent one had the music too loud and fast for the most part. Lots of little kids on the dance floor, which seems to be the norm these days. My throat was sore from trying to visit with relatives we seldom see. It is especially fun to see the children as they grow up quickly when we are not seeing them often. Facebook can be a real blessing in finding conversation points with some.

I like some slow songs. “What a Wonderful World”, Allison Krause’s “When You say Nothing at All,” Alan Jackson (hmm, forget the song right now) and those like them are great opportunities for couples to share some romance again. They need to be intermingled with the fun dances that get several generations up together. Think dances–like jitter bug, fox trot and swing. Even if you don’t dance it is fun to see others dance, especially those long married who just dance so smoothly together. It is fun to see the older generation teach the younger ones.

Although some brides may think the wedding is just for them, it is hospitality and the guests should be treated thoughtfully, IMO.

The frost actually missed us, although it sure looked like we had it. So, all the plants are still doing well. There are so many leaves on the ground and yet the trees still look like none are missing.

  4. Morning! Chilly morning and we have been to town and back, dropping a car off for a new windshield. Jason will be by this morning sometime to get second measurements for the stairway railings. How I hope he can get them done and installed by next week…not liking having no rails at all on those steep stairs!

The last couple of weddings I have attended have had country line dancing music which was so much fun! Everyone young and old can get out on the dance floor and have fun learning which way to turn and if not, bumping into each other! Laughter and memories! Of course these weddings have been on ranches with cows mooing in the distance and glorious sunsets to behold!

  5. I think most weddings I have attended were held at a church with a reception in the fellowship hall. I guess that was why there was no dancing. Are these weddings with dances held at churches that allow alcohol to be served, or held at other locations such as at a country club? I know people in this area do dance, but I guess I have not been friends with those who like to dance. I know people dance at their class reunions.😀 It does sound like fun to watch. I have seen it on the Hallmark channel.

  6. Yes, NJ. That part was fine, but there were just a couple things that I thought some might not appreciate. Like I said, not horrible, just suggestive in a couple places. Thought I should mention that.

  7. My youngest daughter actually asked for a song written by her dad. Surprised us all. He always meant to write a third verse to it, but never did. Another guy asked to use it for a family wedding.

I never knew some people considered dancing a sin until my kids were in a Christian school. My parents had taken ballroom dancing lessons and were good dancers. I can see why some people take that position when I have seen some dancing. Like anything, people can make it sinful.
