Prayer Requests 9-9-23

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 57

Of David. A miktam. When he had fled from Saul into the cave.

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
    for in you I take refuge.
   I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
    until the disaster has passed.

I cry out to God Most High,
    to God, who vindicates me.
He sends from heaven and saves me,
    rebuking those who hotly pursue me—
    God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

I am in the midst of lions;
    I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
   men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
    whose tongues are sharp swords.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

They spread a net for my feet—
    I was bowed down in distress.
   They dug a pit in my path—
    but they have fallen into it themselves.

My heart, O God, is steadfast,
    my heart is steadfast;
    I will sing and make music.
Awake, my soul!
    Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.

I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

  1. Pray for a high school friend, M, who a few years ago lost her husband — and I see this morning on FB that her older son has died unexpectedly while in the hospital. Heartbreaking.

  2. Last fall when I was in Israel, I asked you to pray for my childhood friend’s 34-year-daughter-in-law, 28 weeks pregnant and diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer.

    A health baby girl was taken by c-section at 29 weeks and flourishes today.

    Jamie’s heart gave out this morning after a valiant fight. She was 35.

    Her son is two, her daughter 10 months;hr husband, mother-in-law (my friend), and her husband–along with everyone else including me–are grieving and devastated.

  3. This week is a bad week at Cheryl’s employer.

    More job cuts are coming Tues. or Wed., and no one knows who yet. Scary.

    Cheryl’s been there more than 25 years. It’s frustrating, and right now we rely on her job to provide our medical coverage. A layoff could prove devastating financially with cancer procedures upcoming, and possible further treatments.

    So please pray for us, Cheryl especially.

    Thank you.

  4. Trusting the Lord to hear our cry AJ. Covering you asking Him to protect and provide as only He can….and to bring that deep sense of knowing and calm in the midst of the rippling waters….❣️❣️❣️

  5. Tears from reading these posts. Just feeling sad about many things and realizing the evil one is doubling down on God’s children so we are occupied by all the health issues and distracted from our kingdom agenda of getting God’s word out in the world.

    We do not suffer alone. God is with us through it all. We have to keep trusting with all our hearts. And keep praising Him through the storms.

    Praying more desperately for breakthroughs and helps from His gracious hands.

  6. So much – praying.

    My stepmom is insisting on having a small ‘party’ for my dad’s birthday today. Just my sister bringing in Chinese food and eating with them and my BIL and stepmom’s brother and wife. I told her last night that she needs to just rest, but it seems she just can’t. When the painkillers kick in, she thinks she can do stuff and then she (and everyone else) pays for the huge pain she feels later. But that’s who she is – always doing for others.

  7. Thank you, Mumsee, especially the prayers for my mom.

    Praying for all the requests above — for DJ’s friend M, for Jamie’s loved ones, for Cheryl and AJ in this time of uncertainty, and for Kare’s stepmom and dad.
