It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the nestlings.
Anyone else have something to share?
Psalm 56
Of David. A miktam. When the Philistines had seized him in Gath.
1 Be merciful to me, my God,
for my enemies are in hot pursuit;
all day long they press their attack.
2 My adversaries pursue me all day long;
in their pride many are attacking me.
3 When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
4 In God, whose word I praise—
in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?
5 All day long they twist my words;
all their schemes are for my ruin.
6 They conspire, they lurk,
they watch my steps,
hoping to take my life.
7 Because of their wickedness do not let them escape;
in your anger, God, bring the nations down.
8 Record my misery;
list my tears on your scroll—
are they not in your record?
9 Then my enemies will turn back
when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.
10 In God, whose word I praise,
in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
12 I am under vows to you, my God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death
and my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life.
Our son has Covid. Thanks for praying that he will have a quick recovery and nothing lingering. My 93 y/o friend’s family who live next to her have it. Please pray she stays well.

Prayers for a quick and no-drama recovery, Janice.
Continued prayer for the nation. Prayers for the church and for believers especially to be faithful to our God first and foremost, to keep our focus steady, and to be clear- and sober-minded amid the political turmoil all around us that will probably get worse.
As one Christian writer put it, the nation seems to be caught in the “fever swamps,” and that’s about as accurate a description as I’ve heard.

Which I’d say is sin. They’re are mission field, not our enemies. (No matter how they behave!)

Maybe the “sewer fvamps!”
The weather could hardly be more beautiful than today, but it has seemed like such a week of tragedies here. A disabled man in a wheelie type chair was stabbed and died on the street where Art works. It has been one bad happening after another. A reporter today said as I had said, it’s like the Wild West. He said this about a woman who was standing on the step up to a truck with the door open as her brother drove, and she had a rifle shooting at another black lady as they drove along. She was like a stunt lady but it was for real.
Another lady tried to drive over officers arresting her boyfriend for drugs stashed in the car they had ready to sell. Crazy has hit a new level. Please pray for Atlanta and all the other places where the criminal elrment has been emboldened in the past few years.

Not our enemies, at all, but being used mightily by the real enemy behind the evil. And we all at times have been used, but maybe not to the same extent.
Romans is pretty clear . . .”For all have sinned and fallen short . . .”

Yes, but Jesus neither condemned nor condoned. Christians get a bad rap because so many have responded in kind to the negativity and ugliness of the world.
Turn the other cheek comes to mind.

I’m teaching on Romans 2 right now. Such treatment hardens hearts.
“Do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things, and doing the same, that you will escape the judgment of God?
4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, NOT KNOWING THAT THE GOODNESS OF GOD LEADS TO REPENTANCE?

We think that Boy has been battling Covid for the past few days. His symptoms have been more than a usual cold, and more severe.
A third of Nightingale’s patients have tested positive for Covid. One is in the hospital.
Please pray for Boy and the nursing home patients, and that Nightingale and I might miss this round. Thank you.

We trust the Lord to handle it and we take not revenge. We are however to speak truth even in the face of our enemy…..

But clearly speaking the truth with grace.

Praying, Kizzie — this variant, they are saying now, appears to be causing milder illness.
