Prayer Requests 9-6-23

It’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Joanne and The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 54

 A maskil of David. When the Ziphites had gone to Saul and said, “Is not David hiding among us?”

Save me, O God, by your name;
    vindicate me by your might.
Hear my prayer, O God;
    listen to the words of my mouth.

Arrogant foes are attacking me;
    ruthless people are trying to kill me—
    people without regard for God.

Surely God is my help;
    the Lord is the one who sustains me.

Let evil recoil on those who slander me;
    in your faithfulness destroy them.

I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;
    I will praise your name, Lord, for it is good.
You have delivered me from all my troubles,
    and my eyes have looked in triumph on my foes.

  1. Prayers for the nation, that God would be gracious to us in this divisive and angry time and raise up wise leaders.

    And that He would turn our hearts and minds toward Himself first and above all, the true God.

  2. Please pray for our godson, Nick, who is on life support and not doing well. He has pneumonia and they cannot seem to wean him off. It has been a couple of weeks or more already. Pray he will remember all the wonderful things he learned about the Lord as he was growing up.

    Please pray for Nightingale as she struggles through her current college class. I forget which one it is, but it is very science-y and complicated. She is taking tomorrow off for extra time to study.

    In the midst of trying to have enough time for her studies while dealing with her son and her job and the usual day-to-day stuff of life, she is planning on fixing a leak in my bathroom that cropped up recently. She insists that she knows how to fix it, and that it is an easy repair, but she has to find the time to do it.

    AND this morning I discovered that our other hot water heater is leaking, too. (You may remember that the other one was replaced sometime within the past year.) But before I contact our plumber, Nightingale wants to look and make sure that that really is the problem, and not something else. Hopefully, she’ll take time to do that in the morning. She wasn’t up to dealing with it this evening after work.
