Ida-Lia (don’t give Southerners some odd name for a hurricane)
Has made landfall. It was east and south of us. This morning when I took the dogs out I felt a cooler breeze.
It hit as a Cat-3.
All is good here.
Kim, glad you’re out of harm’s way for the most part.
Prayers for everyone getting hit so hard, safety for those who chose to “ride it out.” Some may have a valid reason to do that, some simply can’t travel, but others can wind up testing God out of stubbornness — which, in turn, can put others, including first responders, at greater risk.
Son will be flexing his teaching muscles as he shifts to two days of online teaching. The challenges for profs today are really different than for previous generations. AI adds to the load of new tech demands.
The bear visited at 1am lifting the lids of empty trash totes! He did manage to reach up really high to take a hummingbird feeder. He did not break it he just had a quick drink!
Funny imagining the bear sipping sugar water from the hummingbird feeder😀
The large garden spider moved from our carport window to the front side of the house with a web from the gutters to the ground. It has a zigzag pattern in the web like practicing making an x over and over, so it is a writing spider not a Joro. Thankful!
We had a most spectacular sunset this evening. As I have been reading I kept looking out the window watching the sun go down…how I enjoy these evenings in the woods…no spiders!!! 🕷️

Good morning! Glad to hear you are safe, Kim. I have a cousin down that way who is not on social media so I need to call her.
AJ, great job on that photo. Wonderful composition.
It’s quite chilly out today, overcast and rain expected.

Thanks, Kim, for the update. My sister, among others down there, seems to be doing fine also. I don’t envy anyone going through those.

Did I scare everyone away with talk about the spider?

Sounds like the Joro spider is nothing to fear either.

I will brag on the Braves while I can. They had a new pitcher tonight who did great, and they won against the Colorado Rockies.
Tomorrow they play the LA Dodgers.
