  1. Good morning!
Our barberry bush that surrounds the mailbox is covered with Sweet Autumn Clematis. It smells heavenly.

Speaking of smells, the subject of house sales was discussed on a news segment by a broker. Kim could probably tell horror stories. The older man told of trying to sell a beautiful starter home to a young couple. It was a done deal until they went into the bathroom which had a hamper full of dirty cloth diapers. Say.No.More.

A recipe to help a home smell fresh was given: juice of two lemons, two sprigs of rosemary, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla with water added. Bring to a boil, simmer and keep adding water as needed.

  2. Good morning, all. A beautiful misty morning here. Thunderstorms expected. Youngest turns sixteen today. Which means little brother and I are only a hop, skip, and a jump from sixty six. Older brother is, of course, nearly ready to tumble into sixty seven!

  3. Morning! Janice I had no idea clematis had a scent!! That is a beautiful photo up there.
Warm again here with cooler temps and rain in the coming days. We suddenly have tiny frogs hopping all over the property…and mosquitoes are gone…poof!!

  4. So frogs get rid of mosquitos?

I had no idea a single little thumb could hurt so much but as the stuff they sprayed it with wore off (for the steroid shot) it started hurting like crazy. I use ice on it, as the doctor earlier had suggested, but nothing seemed to help much. Took 2 Tylenol and went to bed. It’s better today but I think I’ll call out sick to give the thumb and me a rest.

So weird to call in sick when you work from home, you know?

  5. Strange times, Dj. Hope the thumb feels better.

I once saw a small ceramic type loaf of bread made to use in a microwave to give the illusion of fresh bread just being baked. Apparently, that gives a homey feeling to a house.

Wow, Jo, that is a long deck. Sounds perfect for the game, if the boards are very even.

  6. Well, mumsee, it’a another 9 months before 67, but in 6 I’ll be 2/3 of a century. What a concept.

Years ago when pastor turned 50, I told him he was half a century old. He thought that sounded old until he figured he was 1/20 of a millennium.

You are the age you feel, and I feel younger than I am.

  7. It’a be 93 here’bout now. Using it in context with Southern Slang, Peter.😀

Someone has a loud machine humming in their yard, sounds like a leaf blower, but why? ‘Tis not the season.

NJ, my other large clematis flowers are not so fragrant. I think that is why part of the name of this pne is “Sweet.”

  8. I don’t like muggy.

I’m hoping Yosemite will be cooler when I get there.

I’ve used my retreat notes to teach my Bible study the last month, on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

When I wrapped it up today, they all cheered.

    Very sweet.

  9. Yosemite is so beautiful.

My thumb still hurts and I think this steroid shot just weirdly wiped me out generally. Do they do that? I keep icing the thumb, it’s certainly better than it was last night when it was throbbing. But it’s still very sore and stiff.

No walks for Abby until it feels a little bit more normal.

  10. I am sorry I missed going to Yosemite when we were so close. Youngest daughter and her husband lived in Fresno for a year. We visited when our grandson was born. However, the car seat did not fit tight enough in our car to take the trip we planned to Yosemite according to the new mom. Maybe someday.
