Prayer Requests 8-17-23

It’s Thursday, so please remember to pray for Jo and the people of PNG.

Anyone else have something to share

Psalm 36

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord.

I have a message from God in my heart
    concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
   There is no fear of God
    before their eyes.

In their own eyes they flatter themselves
    too much to detect or hate their sin.
The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful;
    they fail to act wisely or do good.
Even on their beds they plot evil;
    they commit themselves to a sinful course
    and do not reject what is wrong.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
    your justice like the great deep.
    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
    People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
    you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you,
    your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 May the foot of the proud not come against me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 See how the evildoers lie fallen—
    thrown down, not able to rise!

  1. Praying for Mumsee and Mike and the situations at the nest. And for Kathaleena’s kitchen repairs to go well. And also for Heidi.

    I also want to thank the Lord for his continued presence and guidance and help in some ongoing personal issues I have been struggling with for a few months. The battleground is in my mind and spirit over right attitudes and thoughts. And amazingly, it has nothing whatsoever to do with politics.

  2. I called the vet’s office this morning, and there is not an open appointment until 1:10 on Saturday, so I took it. I was advised to try giving her boiled chicken and rice to see if that calms down her stomach. Hoping that will do the trick, and that this is not an indication of something more serious.

  3. Please pray for Nightingale’s safety. She had a run-in with an angry janitor at work, and held her ground (she was in the right), which made him even angrier. At one point, he raised his broom as if he was going to hit her, then lowered it. Whether he was merely threatening her or changed his mind at the last moment, we don’t know.

    Nightingale reported the incident to the administrator, and there have been other complaints about him as well.

    My sometimes overactive imagination thinks that he sounds like the kind of angry man who will come back and commit a workplace shooting.

    Please pray for safety from him for Nightingale and the others there, and for the man himself to be saved and helped. Thank you.

  4. Praying alongside you, Debra.

    May God give you clarity of mind, the eyes and heart of Jesus in your viewing of situations, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit to keep you in right thinking always aligning with God in every detail. In Jesus’ name, Amen

    Also, I ask for prayer as I am moving toward action on several needed home projects. May God bring the right workers, insured for worker’s comp, reasonably priced, who know what they are doing, and complete their work with excellence.
    Thank you.🙏

  5. Oh, I just saw Kizzie’s request since we cross-posted this morning. That is super concerning. Prayers for her safety and for the man’s emotions to chill. So glad she reported it! May angels be stationed at strategic points to keep everyone safe there. May God who wants all people saved be at work with each person who lives there and works there, meet them where they are at and bring them on board with Jesus. May Jesus calm any brewing storms in the facility. May His perfect peace calm waves of anger and fear. May His love become their love. I pray in His name, Amen

  6. Amen!

    Thank you, Janice.

    It may be too soon to tell yet, but I think that Heidi may have turned a corner towards getting better. She had some kibbles a while ago – about half of what I usually give her at that time – and she has kept them down.

    (Unless I didn’t see her throw up, and then she ate it back up again. She didn’t used to do that, but has seen Janie doing it, so now she does, too. When I see that happening, I jump in with the paper towels to clean it up before she can eat it all. So gross!)

    Emily made her some chicken and rice “soup” (with the water from boiling the chicken) and Heidi had a small bowl of that about an hour ago, and has kept that down.

    But although I am telling you all this, I am also keeping a watchful eye on her, and realize that the throwing up could come later. Hoping and praying that it won’t, though.
