Prayer Requests 8-5-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 25

Of David.

In you, Lord my God,
    I put my trust.

I trust in you;
    do not let me be put to shame,
    nor let my enemies triumph over me.
No one who hopes in you
    will ever be put to shame,
   but shame will come on those
    who are treacherous without cause.

Show me your ways, Lord,
    teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
    for you are God my Savior,
    and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, Lord, your great mercy and love,
    for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
    and my rebellious ways;
   according to your love remember me,
    for you, Lord, are good.

Good and upright is the Lord;
    therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
    and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
    toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
11 For the sake of your name, Lord,
    forgive my iniquity, though it is great.

12 Who, then, are those who fear the Lord?
    He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.
13 They will spend their days in prosperity,
    and their descendants will inherit the land.
14 The Lord confides in those who fear him;
    he makes his covenant known to them.
15 My eyes are ever on the Lord,
    for only he will release my feet from the snare.

16 Turn to me and be gracious to me,
    for I am lonely and afflicted.
17 Relieve the troubles of my heart
    and free me from my anguish.
18 Look on my affliction and my distress
    and take away all my sins.
19 See how numerous are my enemies
    and how fiercely they hate me!

20 Guard my life and rescue me;
    do not let me be put to shame,
    for I take refuge in you.
21 May integrity and uprightness protect me,
    because my hope, Lord, is in you.

22 Deliver Israel, O God,
    from all their troubles!

  1. Why? In part because I don’t want to be called on to tear down my daughter though I am happy to support son in law. But more because I will need to arrange for my brothers to cover for me for however long.

  2. Heavenly Father, You are sovereign over all and have Your plans and purposes. I bring this request to You in agreement with Mumsee and others that You will make a way to settle this divorce outside of going through a lengthy court case. Please, Lord. The time and money to be wasted needlessly can be saved and put to better Kingdom uses as we see things from our earthly point of view. These earthly systems are fauty and take forever. You are able to expedite in ways unknown to us. Calling on You, agaIn, out of obedience in seeking Your help in times of trouble. I praise You in advance for what You are doing in the invisible realm. Thank You for being our sure hope and firm foundation when things seem shaky. In Jesus’ name,Amen

  3. Amen.

    Got word this afternoon the another older church member passed away unexpectedly last night, the father-in-law of my elder (his in-laws live with him and his wife). I’d just seen the father-in-law last week arriving in the church parking lot with his wife and told him how good he looked. He was smiling and it was so good to see him.

    I talked to his wife for a little while after that before entering the church, we were discussing our mutual friend from church who had relocated to Denver some years ago — she’d passed away just that week. We were saying how much she would be missed and then mused about how at some point in life we have (or will have) more folks on “the other side” than left here on earth.

    Anyway, prayers for both families and for our church, these two were stalwart members for so many years and it’s hard to think of them as not around anymore. But good to know where they are.
