  1. Good morning! We had a day and a half visit in the Nantahala mountains of NC. It was a fun quick trip with Art, Son, and Bro. I even had an opportunity to teach Art how to play Upwords.😀 After all these years he can now play the game with the rest of the family.😀

  2. Nice that he can play that with you. My husband likes the game Fast Track. He isn’t much of a game player. However, I do remind him that playing games with the grands or others has benefits. To me relationship is one of the big plusses. I had to make myself play Memory with our youngest a week or so ago. How I hate that game! They love it, however, and are often better at it than me. That gives them the delight of winning.

  3. Good morning, all.

I was out refilling hummingbird feeders after dark last night so the bees would leave me alone. I was up hanging the hornet and yellow jacket trap at dawn. Kind of odd to have yellow jackets and hummingbirds brushing against you while doing that. I don’t mind the birds.

  4. Games: I enjoy Dutch Blitz, Monopoly, Risk, Clue, Sequence, Bible Trivia. I can tolerate Memory, Chutes and Ladders, Candyland. But I can never play them as often as children and grandchildren want to play them.

  5. Morning! Beautiful photo Janice. Is that a stone path?

Just returned from a morning walk with Pip. We have found that by placing a muzzle on her she becomes relaxed. It is a light mesh with an opening for drinking and getting a treat for listening well. It was a lifesaver for when we had all of our guests these past weeks. No hair raising on her back and she was totally fine.

  6. Good afternoon, everyone!

Michelle, that’s an interesting QOD (and article). I’m not sure I’ve ever distinguished those in my mind. I guess I’ve thought of them interchangeably, though I guess they’re not really. I’ve thought of iniquity as lawlessness. And I sort of put that in the same category. I would have said transgression is perhaps a ‘lighter’ form of lawlessness — sort of the jaywalking of sin.
But I guess not according to the strong’s definition you posted. So glad God forgives them all! :–)

  7. There was quite the boggle tournament here last week. I didn’t play. I always find three letter words as that is what I have focused on for kinder. I played with my friend recently and looked at the words she found. And realized I just need to think differently. So, in the middle of the night last night I was thinking of words that I could find in boggle. Basically going over word families with blends. Perhaps I will do some practicing. That is what my grandson was doing, playing the game by himself and looking for words.

  8. my life vest is not turning up so I will need to go purchase one this week. Wow the price certainly varies. I found some that were cheaper but they would take weeks to arrive.

  9. I have always thought of the word sin as an umbrella word though with it being a short three letter word, in that sense, it can hardly cover iniquity and trasgression.

I think about the verse that says Christ died for the iniquities of us all which in my mind translates to all weighty sins.

I have associated transgression with crossing boundaries in big ways, not a toe over for a moment, but an all in and stuck on the wrong side of a boundary.

These are randomly noted answers on the QOD.

  10. NJ, it is a stone walkway up to a tower. Art was able to go to the top of the tower which was encouraging to him
    His cane assisted.
This is near where Art’s parents grew up.

Art and I played Upwords at one of the picnic tables at this site. Many years ago we pitched a tent and spent one night at this location.

  11. Back from the annual physical and just ate a banana, about to have my morning coffee at almost 12:30 p.m.! (Fasted for the blood work). Those exams are so long and sort of strange now, filled with interview questions on you, your habits, you lifestyle, etc.

They gave me high marks (seriously, you get a little “report card” at the end of it) for not being depressed (at least not seriously or regularly), being a lifelong non-smoker, passing the cognitive test, and keeping up with my dental health (going to the dentist every 6 months and flossing).

Ok, so I don’t always floss EVERY night (I just said yes when they asked), but I do floss a few times, at least, every week.

I didn’t pass the “How many servings of fruits and vegetables do you eat a day?” question very successfully, however.

Next I’ll be heading to physical therapy again for the clicking thumb that has been bothering me for about 6 weeks now since Abby yanked me hard on a walk.

  12. Oh, and I stopped at Sprouts on the way home and bought some fruits and vegetables, but not many. My issue is since I live alone I need to go through produce quickly or it just spoils or gets ruined by freezer ice because my refrigerator isn’t operating at its prime anymore.

So I can only by very small amounts and need to be sure to eat them within 1-2 days. Then I have to go buy more …

I may go back to buying the frozen bags and just parceling out portions that way, it makes more sense I know. And I’ve recently cleared out my freezer so there’s suddenly *room* in there.

  13. Weeds I have plenty of!

Thanks for the post, michelle. Chewing. (That and weeds, per mumsee’s recommendation.)

And beautiful photo and pathway. I love stone paths … I have some pavers left over from my driveway project several years ago, they’re in the garage …

  14. I like Sequence, too, mumsee. Also, Risk, Dutch Bliss or double solitaire with lots of players. Yahtzee, Boggle or Battleship. I can tolerate Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders and Memory. Same with Monopoly.
