A China-linked company ran a grossly unsafe bio lab filled with deadly pathogens in a supposedly empty warehouse in Fresno, California. A company without much of a backstory, addresses that don’t exist, and a president who can only be reached by email.
No, this is not the plot of a bad movie. A Chinese company that nobody knows much about took over an abandoned building, set up a grotesque unsanitary bio lab complete with genetically engineered mice, stored HIV, Malaria, COVID-19, Hepatitis, and other viruses as well as vats of “biological material” for purposes unknown.
On March 3, an illegal bio lab was discovered in a believed-to-be vacant building in Reedley, California in Fresno County. City code enforcement stumbled upon the building in December 2022 when they discovered a garden hose running up into the building through a hole in the wall. In March, they obtained a warrant to inspect the property, and in April, the Fresno County Department of Public Health ordered an inspection of the facility.
James Bond apparently was not involved in raiding the lab.”

Smith, according to his former DOJ colleague Andrew Weissmann, is a “consummate professional” and a “skilled and fast prosecutor who does not let the grass grow under his feet.”

The problem for the Supreme Court is its inability to regulate itself. Every court except the Supreme Court has a code of ethics, and from the behaviour of the Supreme Court, they should adopt one too. Its unfortunate that the legislature has to correct the failures of the judicial branch. Critics of the Court aren’t just focused on Thomas – they’ve also cited Roberts, Alito, Sotomayor etc.
The problem for the Republicans is they talk a good game but never produce. Until Comer starts sharing the laptop and whistle blower transcripts, no one is going to take him seriously. He makes claims but never makes documents available even to the Democrats let alone the public. The press is left with allegations and no evidence. Based on the evidence, they can only conclude the Republicans have weaponized the oversight cmttee.

My reference to transcripts was in relation to a few months ago when Jordan refused to release transcripts of interviews the Republican portion of the Weaponization Cmttee had with IRS whistle blowers. Obviously time has elapsed and I’m not going to dig through CPAC. I sometimes let youtube play its algorithm and it came up. I remember it because I found it weird, that not only were there no transcripts but only one party was at the interview.
The reason it came up now is Raskin is accusing Comer of misleading the public by make claims on TV prior to releasing transcripts in order to establish the narrative. As well Comer still hasn’t allowed the Democrats to examine the hardware in Biden’s laptop. Finally it appears the newest whistle blower – Archer – has previously been convicted of fraud. That’s two criminal whistle blowers.

The CO2 article seems to miss the point of the Lancet study. It’s not about comparing the relative dangers of cold vs heat. It’s about the risk of both of those things compared across age groups (which you can see in the differently-shaded segments of each bar) and geography (different bars for different countries). The article says NOTHING about whether heat or cold is more or less dangerous.
Yes, they could have scaled the heat bars the same as the cold bars. But that would have made the heat bars so short that you wouldn’t be able to clearly see the differently-shaded segments within each bar showing the age distribution of the risk, which is what the study was ACTUALLY about.

Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family are obviously private citizens and where they work does not reflect an endorsement by the administration or by the Vice President or President. But I would refer you to the Vice President’s office.
Kendra Barkoff, a Biden spokeswoman, offered the same talking points in a terse statement to the media. “Hunter Biden is a private citizen and a lawyer. The vice president does not endorse any particular company and has no involvement with this company.”
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki also brushed aside inquiries later that day:
Nevertheless, major news outlets here and around the world continued to raise the improper, if not brazenly pay-to-play, nature of the arrangement. “Vice President Joe Biden’s youngest son Hunter Biden has joined the board of directors of Ukraine’s largest oil company at a time that the U.S. is urging Ukraine to develop energy independence from Russia and just days after the vice president visited Ukraine,” ABC News reported in May 2014, noting the fortuitous timing of the announcement.
“The appointment of the vice president’s son to a Ukrainian oil board looks nepotistic at best, nefarious at worst,” Adam Taylor, Washington Post foreign affairs reporter, surmised in a May 14, 2014 article. “No matter how qualified Biden is, it ties into the idea that U.S. foreign policy is self-interested. [You] have to wonder how big the salary has to be to put U.S. soft power at risk like this.”
And despite Psaki’s spin, State Department officials soon after expressed concern about the “perception of a conflict of interest,” even taking those concerns to Vice President Joe Biden’s office in early 2015.
But one person in official Washington seemed uninterested in the shady deal between a corrupt international gas company operating in a notoriously unstable country and America’s most troubled nepo-baby:
Jack Smith.
Smith—appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland last year to take over DOJs dual investigations into Donald Trump for alleged mishandling of classified documents and the events of January 6—was named chief of the Department of Justice’s Public Integrity Section, or PIN, in August 2010.
Operating within the criminal division, PIN maintains broad purview over public corruption investigations on the federal, state, and local level including cases tied to “a government official…or someone associated with such an official,” according to the office’s annual report.
Smith held that powerful position until February 2015—meaning Hunter Biden’s years-long board position with Burisma eventually resulting in a $4 million haul for the vice president’s son began right under Jack Smith’s nose.
But we’ve been told Jack Smith is the toughest and most unbiased government prosecutor of all time…
This is certainly contrary to what the public has been told about Jack Smith. The news media, “legal experts” in particular, insist Jack Smith is a no-nonsense federal prosecutor with unmatched integrity and devotion to the rule of law. Smith, according to his former DOJ colleague Andrew Weissmann, is a “consummate professional” and a “skilled and fast prosecutor who does not let the grass grow under his feet.”
So, what happened? How did the keen-eyed, apolitical Smith and his 30-plus lawyers miss what was happening just blocks from their DOJ offices?
Perhaps Smith truly bought Burisma’s spin that the company selected Hunter based on his “expertise” in foreign policy and the law. Or perhaps Smith believed Hunter Biden when he said he would consult Burisma on matters relating to “transparency, corporate governance, and responsibility.” 😂
Maybe Smith was too busy prosecuting Republican governor Bob McDonnell and his wife at the time—a case later overturned by the Supreme Court—that he missed the international headlines of how a British government agency had seized $23 million in assets belonging to Burisma’s owner amid suspicions of money laundering the very same month Hunter was appointed to the board.
Maybe Smith was just a tenderheart who thought Hunter quickly turned over a new leaf. After all, Hunter had been discharged from the Naval reserves just three months before the Burisma appointment was announced after he flunked a drug test. Hunter’s misadventures were among the worst kept secrets in Washington but maybe Smith was still reeling from his unsuccessful prosecution of former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards to pay attention to Biden family gossip.”

The problem for the Supreme Court is its inability to regulate itself. Every court except the Supreme Court has a code of ethics, and from the behaviour of the Supreme Court, they should adopt one too. Its unfortunate that the legislature has to correct the failures of the judicial branch. Critics of the Court aren’t just focused on Thomas – they’ve also cited Roberts, Alito, Sotomayor etc.
The problem for the Republicans is they talk a good game but never produce. Until Comer starts sharing the laptop and whistle blower transcripts, no one is going to take him seriously. He makes claims but never makes documents available even to the Democrats let alone the public. The press is left with allegations and no evidence. Based on the evidence, they can only conclude the Republicans have weaponized the oversight cmttee.
Of course, I’m not surprised – DeSantis is after all the governor of Florida. But for Trump supporters this should be a speck and branch metaphor. After all, Trump likes to walk into underage dressing rooms, grab women by the privates and is currently owning millions for sexual assault in civil suit. I wouldn’t trust either with my daughter or even my ex-wife.

My reference to transcripts was in relation to a few months ago when Jordan refused to release transcripts of interviews the Republican portion of the Weaponization Cmttee had with IRS whistle blowers. Obviously time has elapsed and I’m not going to dig through CPAC. I sometimes let youtube play its algorithm and it came up. I remember it because I found it weird, that not only were there no transcripts but only one party was at the interview.
The reason it came up now is Raskin is accusing Comer of misleading the public by make claims on TV prior to releasing transcripts in order to establish the narrative. As well Comer still hasn’t allowed the Democrats to examine the hardware in Biden’s laptop. Finally it appears the newest whistle blower – Archer – has previously been convicted of fraud. That’s two criminal whistle blowers.

“Archer, 48, who is facing jail for his role in a $60 million bond fraud, is scheduled to testify to the House Oversight Committee about meetings he witnessed that were attended by Joe Biden either in person or via speakerphone when Hunter would call his father to introduce him to foreign business partners or prospective investors.
“We are looking forward very much to hearing from Devon Archer about all the times he has witnessed Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s overseas business partners when he was vice president, including on speakerphone,” said Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), the committee chairman.
Remember that for years the Democrats and their media lickspittles have insisted–and Joe Biden has himself stated emphatically and publicly before the last presidential election, that he knew nothing of his son Hunter’s shady overseas business deals. Of course he knew.
He was the muscle. And Hunter, like his Uncle Jim before him, was the bagman. The guy who carried the treasure to “The Big Guy” or “President Ten Percent.”
Those of you who know Chicago know how this works–The Delaware Way is the American Way is the Chicago Way. And how do you keep the suckers from ‘beefing’ or ‘complaining?’ You control the media to suppress problematic facts. And do they ever control it.
Now you understand why the Democrat Media Complex was so furious with voters after the mid-term elections. They would be exposed. All the rocks would be turned over. There were no moist corners in which to hide.
The great heavyweight champion Joe Louis had a saying, “They can run but they can’t hide.” Eventually they’d be trapped and take a public beating.
I’d like to think that is true, but the difference being that there is a great political machine between Biden and his opposition. They protect Biden and take the punches for him and then counter-attack with deadly vengeance, and as long as there are low-information voters out there (i.e. stupid, easily manipulated voters) who don’t read and don’t pay attention. These are the true chumbolones who steadily consume corrupt media the way diabetics guzzle soda-pop. And it is through this stupidity–most of it demonstrated by Democrats during big-city elections, that guys like Joe and Hunter Biden are protected and saved.

The CO2 article seems to miss the point of the Lancet study. It’s not about comparing the relative dangers of cold vs heat. It’s about the risk of both of those things compared across age groups (which you can see in the differently-shaded segments of each bar) and geography (different bars for different countries). The article says NOTHING about whether heat or cold is more or less dangerous.
Yes, they could have scaled the heat bars the same as the cold bars. But that would have made the heat bars so short that you wouldn’t be able to clearly see the differently-shaded segments within each bar showing the age distribution of the risk, which is what the study was ACTUALLY about.
