Good morning! Son is home from his trip to Switzerland. Funny how he managed to get up so early when he usually sleeps late here. I suppose that five hour time difference had reset his internal clock.😀🧭
Art wanted his eggs at 5:30-6 a.m. because he was leaving early to get downtown for his IRS conference. Only love gets up that early to make eggs!
I’ve just canceled my flight to LA this morning–first time ever I’ve canceled a flight the day of travel. I’m on day 6 of insomnia, didn’t fall asleep until after 4, and would be leaving now.
It’s better to lose $100 than push myself to drive 2.5 hours in traffic for a one-hour funeral tomorrow. This is usually the day on one of these “benders” when I crash immediately after dinner. So, I’ll do it here.

We are having a delightful time with niece and her husband.
She is taking an online test right now that must be turned in by 3 Florida time….so at 50 she is getting her masters….I applaud her!

Morning. Family just left to drive back to Portland. I’m tired but so glad I got my pictures last night. My sister and her husband took us all out for pizza. They really love my family. Chose not to have children so enjoy mine. He kept giving kids dollars for the arcade.

I am heading in for cataract surgery in another 6 weeks though, something to maybe keep in mind. …

I was thinking about you as we had a 3-hour media training on covering wildfires today for both our northern and southern California outlets combined. Wow. So glad I’m no longer a young reporter who could get tapped for anything like that! But I could wind up doing what we call the “quarterbacking” work at the computer taking feeds.
Fire season is starting later in our state due to all the rain that kept things green; but things are starting to change now, creating fuel …
My daughter in law took me outside before they left to get pictures of the kids and I before they left.
She also gave me a gift yesterday. Ice cube trays! Sounds silly but it was something that I didn’t have. She also got me fancy ones that have a lid so they can be on an angle.
It was so nice to have her here as she doesn’t usually come. Still waiting on some paperwork to begin her counseling practice.
