  1. Well then, happy birthday to NJ!

I made a batch of blueberry/lemon cookies the other day from a recipe on Pinterest. The recipe only made twenty and is a bit of work, since it uses fresh peel and juice. However, it is very good. One of those recipes I will only use when fresh berries are in season.

  2. Please share the recipe, Kathaleena.

AJ, the water fowl on that lake or river seem to be in a line though quite a distance apart. Maybe my eyes don’t see it clearly though. It made me ponder if the birds have unseen paths in the water.

  3. Morning! And Happy Birthday to my birthday buddy Wesley!!❣️❣️🎂🎂

Having a shopping outing with oldest daughter today and while we are out husband and his brother return from their road trip. My house will be a stinky mess when I get home but oh the stories they will be telling over the dinner table tonight!😊

My last year of 60’s… how can it be???? 😳

  4. Seventy happens all too soon, NJ!

Currants sound awesome, Mumsee! The dried ones are perfect buttons on a gingerbread man!

Do carrot/pineapple muffins sound too much like a fall treat to carry for a Sunday school coffee time treat?

  5. Has anyone here besides Kathaleena seen Sound of Freedom? It is so worth the effort to see it. I spoke with my cousin in a small town in FL yesterday and she plans to see it. I am hoping it will have an extended showing since it has done so well.

  6. For those of you who remember Jeff ( week end er man), I am not sure exactly what is going on with him, but he is in some difficulty. He has a traumatic brain injury from a car accident years ago. He left the state he had been in and moved to be near his parents and now seems to have left them. There was a “drama” last night. He seems to have friends looking after him. I’m not sure what has happened with his family.
He at least had a roof over his head last night and breakfast this morning.
Please say a prayer he gets the help he needs.
I did message one of his friends last night who seemed to know more about what was going on. I told her how kind he had been to me at one of the most difficult times of my life and asked if I could help in any way. Prayer was the request.

  7. Happy birthday NJ! Sounds like you’ll have a fun day ahead.

I remember Weekender Man, but just the name/handle, I don’t remember much about him. Thanks for passing that on, Kim, sounds very hard.

A group from my church is going to see Sound of Freedom but my work schedule won’t work with that — I’ll check it out when it lands on one of the TV movie outlets.

Meanwhile, Pastor Pan from the (“mayflower”) church that made it out of China and is now resettling in Texas is coming to LA to visit our church this weekend, they’ve found lodging for his family of 4 among our membership and I’m guessing he’ll be either preaching and/or speaking Sunday when we gather.

  8. Janice, do you go on Pinterest at all. The recipe is one without cream cheese and with a couple TBLs of corn starch. It is too long to write out right now. Maybe later.

  9. Peter – Yes, he changed his name from Weekenderman to Outkast at some point. “Weekender” was a small weekend paper that he wrote for, and someone “told on” him for using the name, so he had to change it.

  10. Janice – re: your questioning if “carrot/pineapple muffins sound too much like a fall treat” – I’m not sure about that, but think that the pineapple doesn’t sound very fall-ish, I don’t think.

But your question reminds me of this – In a box with a variety of K-cups that I had, there were a couple each of Pumpkin Caramel Spice and Vanilla Pumpkin Spice. They were both delicious, but reminded me too much of fall, in an “I can’t wait for fall!” kind of way. To me, they literally tasted like fall. 🙂

So I let Emily and Forrest have those, and ordered a full box of each one to enjoy when fall really does come around. 🙂 (One in regular, and the other in decaf.) Now I have even more reason to welcome fall when it comes. ❤

  11. yikes (@5:11). cover blown in the real world, a semi-concern on these sites.

Drill!!! He was hilarious. Maybe he’s now making a boatload of money for his creativity.

I associate Weekenderman w/some past election that was getting hot on the blog. Not as hot as things are now, maybe lukewarm by today’s hotter standards.

  12. I can look on Pinterest, Kathaleena. Thank you.

I have an old recipe from Eating Well magazine/cookbook that is a blueberry coffeecake that has some cream cheese in it. I might look at that for a Sunday morning treat.

  13. Thanks for all the birthday blessings. I had a wonderful day with eldest daughter and we shopped, lunched and laughed!
Got home to stinky guys, wild behaving puppy and a touch of chaos. Puppy not watched as closely by her favorite human and she consumed something outside that made her throw up…I finished up my day cleaning up dinner dishes and dog vomit…oh the sun will come out tomorrow.. !!!

  14. Exhausted again this evening. Pest control took care of my house. First he goes around the ourside and gets rid of all the cobwebs. He also did the garage and i showed him the access to under the house which is an inside door so he did under there too. Years ago after my husband left the owners took me under their wing. So I am still down for a free service. Amazing. to live in a house with no bugs at all is so different that PNG.

  15. Daughter forgot to give me their booster seats so we just drove to their house from swim lessons. They of course just wanted to watch shows. I let them each watch one show. I am working on whininess. It helps that they know it doesn’t work on me at all. She was having a meltdown because I did not put enough milk on her cereal. I ignored it and just looked at her. Finally she quit went over to the fridge and got the milk and put some more on her cereal. YES!!
Had a cuddly tickle fest with each. Maybe that is why my leg was hurting. I used ice tonight. I even sat on an ice pack because i could feel exactly where the sciatica was originating.
