Prayer Requests 7-12-23

It’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Joanne and The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 2

Why do the nations conspire
    and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
    and the rulers band together
    against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“Let us break their chains
    and throw off their shackles.”

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;
    the Lord scoffs at them.
He rebukes them in his anger
    and terrifies them in his wrath, saying,
“I have installed my king
    on Zion, my holy mountain.”

I will proclaim the Lord’s decree:

   He said to me, “You are my son;
    today I have become your father.
Ask me,
    and I will make the nations your inheritance,
    the ends of the earth your possession.
You will break them with a rod of iron;
    you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”

10 Therefore, you kings, be wise;
    be warned, you rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear
    and celebrate his rule with trembling.
12 Kiss his son, or he will be angry
    and your way will lead to your destruction,
   for his wrath can flare up in a moment.
    Blessed are all who take refuge in him.

  1. Praying.

    I seem to have what’s called “trigger them” on my left had following a walk a couple weeks ago when Abby was pulling extra hard (left hand is my main leash hand). I’m seeing online it typically leaves on it’s own but I will mention it to GP when I go in for my physical in a couple weeks.

    I bought a hand wrap with a special thumb splint built in which is helping, I actually wore it to bed last night and my hand feels much better this morning. I’m also using primarily my right hand for the leash and working on Abby’s pulling. She seemed to be getting better until the walk last night when she was off to the races again. I stop, make her come back to me and we pause before starting again with the word “Easy.” I have treats for when she actually listens.

    Anyway, pray for the hand to heal on its own and for Abby’s growth in obedience — and for my patience with her.

  2. My friend who walks dogs also has a sprain from a leash situation. It will take up to a year to heal. She is suppose to use the next finger over as a “buddy finger” like a splint. She has bands or small straps to hold the fingers together while it heals.

    Praying for you both, Dj. It is so difficult to not have full use of one’s hand.

  3. Dogs.

    Thanks for the prayers. The ‘buddy finger’ splint sounds handy, but the single full thumb splint (with a full hand wrap that leaves top half of fingers still free) seem to be helping.
