  1. Good morning, all. A beautiful day here. Still enjoying the bountiful cherry harvest straight off the tree right outside my bedroom door. Good start to the day!

  2. Morning! And from here on out I shall call her Fanny Fox!!

I do so miss my cherry tree we had in town. This time every year my friend and I had a harvest party …. Montmorency cherries abound and we froze over 20 gallon bags. How I had to fight the robins for my cherries!!

  3. This book, though not free is only 99 cents, sounds really good.

Who Says Giving Up Dreams Isn’t Success?

Ally Cervantes has all she wants in life—an upcoming wedding, a chance to prove herself with a writing gig, and two great kids. But her life turns for the worse when the unexpected happen and she soon finds herself struggling with a rebellious teen daughter, a shaky job, and a shakier engagement.

With her newfound faith acting as a life preserver, Ally discovers if you’re in the deep end of the lake, you’d better learn how to swim. Although fiction, The Deep End of the Lake, is written from the authors’ personal compassion for families who have the privilege and responsibility to care for a child with a disability.
Having worked with autistic students, Carol has seen first-hand the stress and demands these parents face and wanted to capture in a story those pressures, all while providing the encouragement that a beautiful hope and faith can bring into the struggles.

  4. My work is done. I just received the most fabulous 2-page letter from an 80+ year old man who read Lettie’s biography twice, took notes, and thanked me.

    I’m in tears.

But, now it’s back to work on the house. One guest (and dog) left, another is returning (with 2 cats. Yikes), one is still in limbo but slated to fly home on Wednesday with all of us hoping her lost luggage arrives at our house before she flies. (Daughter has volunteered to take it to her in Australia if it’s late! Hmm. Maybe I’ll check flights myself?)

The cute Finnish girls went to school today. We played badmitton together last night. I, apparently, have lost my ability to smash a birdie. 😦

Lots of moving pieces here, but for the first time in 10 months I do not have a pressing deadline.

Plenty to do, but not that is ASAP TOP PRIORITY, Hurry, all is lost if you don’t get this done pronto!

I may even, finally, start weeding.

But first, I should pray. 🙂

  5. Tonight is my favorite concert. in fact, my only concert that I attend. It is mostly patriotic music, which I love.
However it will probably still be 90 degrees outside in the park. I will still wear long pants for bug protection.

  6. I reached for a gas can to refill my mower. Found a snake in my hand. It was sunning on the can just under the handle. Ewww. I did notice it was a bull snake rather than a rattler (they look a lot alike when suddenly appear) so let it slither back into the woodshed.

  7. My husband and I went to the Freedom movie today. We both thought it was very good. The acting was great, from both children and adults and it was very well done. I was worried it would be too emotional, but it was very tastefully done considering the subject matter.
