Husband’s jam group is playing for a funeral for a woman who was a huge fan of the group and used to work with one of the group. One of the hazards of working or playing music for seniors.
Good morning, all. We had a plan to take my dad on a journey but I believe his restlessness over night and the fog and anticipated thunderstorms have put a damper on our excursion. We may just make a short trip.
The worship team I was on played for the funeral of a 5 year old little girl – daughter of one of our team members. That was both awful and wonderful to do for the family.
I am listening again in the Metaxas book, Miracles, and it is amazing! It is worth listening/reading it to get the backstory on how the Bonhoffer book came to be written.
Yes, it is an honor to be asked to play at the funerals. A child’s funeral is so very sad. This woman was 90. The scripture readings were ones marked up in her own bible. She had dementia at the end. She wrote a short letter to be read. One part of it was put on the card honoring her:
Just think-
of stepping ashore and finding it heaven,
of touching a Hand and finding it God’s,
of breathing new air and finding it celestial,
of waking up in glory and
finding you are HOME.
This funeral was not anywhere near as sad as any child’s or even young adults I have been to and that has been many.
It’s definitely summer here, but at east the humidity isn’t as high as it can be, only 34%. When I was in Arizona that was high, but here it’s considered dry.
I tried to post a greeting this morning but my new keyboard husband purchased for me was wonky!! I almost threw it across the room! He decided to switch with me to make me happy!! I did get through posting a link on another thread but that took all the energy out of me!!
This one is going to take getting use to but at least it doesn’t try to read my mind….that in itself is scary!!
those are the prettiest flowers up there! Are they field flowers or did someone plant them?….other than our Creator!
Ran some errands today and will have to go back into town to mail a package to daughter in law in KY. She forgot to check the correct address when she ordered something from Amazon…instead of sending it to their home address she mistakenly sent it to ours!!
Good morning! If there was anything you were planning to do this spring, you’d better get to it.

Good morning!
It’s still so cool here for June with 78° high predicted for tomorrow, the first day of summer, when the usual high would be around 88°
Nice header though I cannot tell what the flowers are.

I love that, Kathaleena. It’s exciting to think of being home after our long journey. And all the more so as you lose loved ones here.
