  1. These people are just vile. They are the abusers, and support the mutilation of children.

“California Bill Would Charge Any Parent Who Doesn’t Affirm Transgenderism With ‘Child Abuse’”

    https://www.dailysignal.com/2023/06/09/california-bill-would-charge-any-parent-doesnt-affirm-transgenderism-child-abuse/

“A recently amended California bill would add “affirming” the sexual transition of a child to the state’s standard for parental responsibility and child welfare—making any parent who doesn’t affirm transgenderism for their child guilty of abuse under California state law.

AB 957 passed California’s State Assembly on May 3, but a co-sponsor amended it after hours in California’s State Senate on June 6.

Assembly Member Lori Wilson, D-Suisun City, wrote the bill and introduced it on Feb. 14. State Sen. Scott Wiener, D-San Francisco, co-sponsored it. Wilson’s child identifies as transgender.

Originally, AB 957 required courts to consider whether a child’s parents were “gender-affirming” in custody cases. Wiener’s amendment completely rewrites California’s standard of child care.

AB 957 post-amendment “would include a parent’s affirmation of the child’s gender identity as part of the health, safety, and welfare of the child,” altering the definition and application of the entire California Family Code.

California courts would be given complete authority under Section 3011 of California’s Family Code to remove a child from his or her parents’ home if parents disapprove of LGBTQ+ ideology.

By changing the definition of what constitutes the “health, safety, and welfare of [a] child,” schools, churches, hospitals, and other organizations interacting with children would be required to affirm “gender transitions” in minors by default—or risk charges of child abuse.

AB 957 could also expand which organizations provide “evidence” of gender “nonaffirmation” to California’s courts.

Because of the addition of “gender affirmation” to the qualifications of California’s standards for “health, safety, and welfare,” California’s courts would now be able to accept reports of gender “abuse” from progressive activist organizations—as long as they claim to provide “services to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence.”

In essence, a boy could report his parents to his local school’s Gay-Straight Alliance club or other LGBTQ+ organization, who could then report the boy’s parents for child abuse.

Incredibly, the bill provides no definition whatsoever of what would qualify as “nonaffirming” to a child’s gender. “

“Leaked Video Shows D.C. Cops Were ‘Rioters’ and Instigators at J-6 Protest”

    https://pjmedia.com/news-and-politics/victoria-taft/2023/06/09/leaked-video-shows-d-c-cops-were-rioters-and-instigators-at-j-6-protest-n1701634

“A leaked video shows that at least one Washington, D.C., cop—and likely more—acted on January 6 as apparent agent provocateurs, dressing as protesters outside the Capitol Building and urging protesters toward the iconic building. See the video below.”

    https://rumble.com/v2en5uk-january-6-care-package.html

“Congressman Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.) says the authenticated GoPro video raises the question of why police officers, who were identified as intelligence officers, were working to stir up the crowd of protesters instead of working to stop an assault on the Capitol.

At one point in the video, the unidentified police officer equipped with the camera said to another that he thought the idea was to get people inside the Capitol Building and trap them inside. The observation by the undercover officer leads one to conclude that there was intelligence about a plan to attack the Capitol, and the apparent response by the police was to let them do it and take pictures.

When another officer on the video saw people climbing the scaffolding, he told the officer with the GoPro, “That’s dangerous. Somebody’s going to get shot.” A third officer said, “They’re not going to shoot anybody.” Yet, they encouraged and participated in the dangerous activity.

As the group of officers worked their way through the crowd and to the scaffolding, they joined in with the protesters’ chants, “Whose house? Our house!”

Loudermilk told the “Just the News, No Noise TV” show, “We know that it is one of their officers and at one point he is encouraging, and it appears he’s encouraging. He’s definitely helping people climb the scaffolding, and he’s telling them ‘go, go, go.’”

Naturally, the congressman wondered, “Why is an officer encouraging people to climb the scaffolding and go into the Capitol?” Further, he asked, “Why did the MPD Metropolitan Police support department decide to put undercover officers in the crowd? Was there intelligence that they had that was or was not passed on to the Capitol Police, and what did the Capitol police do with that evidence, if they got it?””

“Billionaire Biden Donor Bankrolled 2020 Election Social Media Censorship Effort

Newly disclosed document confirms billionaire Pierre Omidyar financed the public-private partnership to censor election-related Twitter and Facebook posts.”

    https://www.leefang.com/p/billionaire-biden-donor-bankrolled

“The Department of Homeland Security’s controversial social media censorship effort during the 2020 election was propped up by a partisan billionaire.

Newly obtained documents, acquired through a public records request, confirm that Pierre Omidyar, the billionaire founder of eBay, financed a specialized portal maintained by the Center for Internet Security (CIS). This portal was used to facilitate the swift removal of predominantly conservative messages on Twitter and Facebook during the previous presidential election.

Omidyar, previously identified as one of the largest donors to campaign groups supporting Joe Biden’s presidential bid, donated $45 million to the “Sixteen Thirty Fund” in 2020. This dark money group mobilized Democratic voters and financed pro-Biden Super PACs. However, Omidyar’s direct involvement in the DHS partnership, which is now facing increased scrutiny, remained undisclosed until now.

The funding provided by Omidyar to CIS was used to establish a Misinformation Reporting Portal (MiRP). A team from CIS continuously monitored this portal 24/7 from September 28 to November 6, 2020, as revealed in a post-election report, “Election Infrastructure Misinformation Reporting.” The Democracy Fund, Omidyar’s foundation, supported the creation of the MiRP through a direct grant, according to the report.”

The misinformation reporting portal served to rapidly identify and remove instances of alleged misinformation. CIS’s report acknowledged that the flagged content ranged from “intentional misinformation to honest mistakes.” Of the content reported by CIS, 61% “resulted in positive action,” which the group defined as content takedowns or labeling.

This MiRP system was used by a coalition of liberal-leaning research groups and overseen by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Agency (CISA), a sub-agency of the DHS that has led the government’s push to censor social media. Despite government backing for the project, the effort was partisan – the Democratic National Committee was part of the consortium, but not the Republican National Committee, indicating a partisan bias.

“In addition to sharing all reports with CISA, some reports were shared with the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the CIS report noted. The effort focused on “election narratives” deemed conspiratorial or inaccurate.

Tax records appear to confirm the Omidyar funding. The Democracy Fund’s 990 disclosure shows that it donated $130,000 to CIS in 2020. The grant, however, is listed as support for “election security best practices,” a vague description that belied the true function of the MiRP portal.

CIS did not respond to a request for comment. The Omidyar Network discussed this inquiry with me but stopped responding before publication.

Evidence of this MiRP system first emerged in emails I obtained from a visit to Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters in December. In an email thread dated October 1, 2020, Twitter attorney Stacia Cardille mentioned receiving outreach from DHS, forwarding a censorship demand from CISA, CIS official Aaron Wilson, and a representative from the Election Integrity Partnership, a coalition monitoring misinformation. “

“It’s Past Time For Republicans To Impeach Biden And All His Top Officials”

    https://thefederalist.com/2023/06/09/its-past-time-for-republicans-to-impeach-biden-and-all-his-top-officials/

“We now have more evidence that Joe Biden is a criminal than Democrats faked in order to spy on and then impeach Donald Trump twice, hamstringing his entire four years in office. Yet Trump has become the first president in U.S. history to be raided by the FBI and now indicted — over documents the Department of Justice will not identify, even to courts.

The indictment is a scam, on every level. It is pure treachery designed to make a mockery of the American justice system to persecute Democrats’ top political enemy. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Mike Pence, and Barack Obama all had “documents disputes,” and none of them were indicted despite several of their offenses being clearly far worse than what’s on the table with Trump.

The indictment is a farce. And it’s a dangerous one, as a very public and high-level weaponization of America’s legal system for political purposes. This is banana republic behavior, folks, and it’s destroying what’s left of the American constitutional order that preserves for all of us a way of life unparalleled in human history.

If Republicans actually care about the rule of law, their oaths to the Constitution, the American people, and preserving the best country in the world, they will treat this as a five-alarm constitutional crisis and respond accordingly. That means immediately moving to impeach Biden and his entire cabinet, among other strong political choices designed to make unhinged Democrats stop turning this great country into an authoritarian dumpster fire.

There is no other way. We are in this situation precisely because of Republicans’ weak and ineffective response to decades of Democrats using the Constitution as so much toilet paper, and aggressively shredding the political, legal, and cultural norms required to preserve a self-governing republic. Republicans need to be done posturing on TV and conducting impotent years-long investigations that result in no corrupt bureaucrats’ heads rolling while continuing legislatively to meet Democrats halfway to insanity.

We are not in the 1980s anymore. Stop acting like Democrats are legitimate political opponents because they did that to Republicans a long time ago. Meet them on their own terms, not nostalgia for a fantasy world.

After the eight-year saga of Spygate, it is a complete nonstarter for Republicans to take any other course than requiring Democrats to live within constitutional boundaries, full stop. We’re not talking about holding hearings about the FBI’s weaponization while its director thumbs his nose at Congress. We’re talking stripping funds, impeding the FBI and Department of Justice’s normal business operations, impeaching the FBI director and attorney general, impeaching corrupt deputies, filing legal cases against their operations in friendly venues, and hounding them with ceaseless investigations.

Remember, this unhinged FBI and DOJ spied on Trump using the pretext of a fake dossier paid for by his Democrat opponent’s campaign, which the special counsel report shows the FBI should have and probably did know was manufactured disinformation. That investigation formed the basis of Democrats’ pursuit of impeaching Trump, on false charges of being a traitor on behalf of Russia.

Get reality through your thick skulls already, Republicans: The nation’s federal law enforcement agencies framed an opposition president with false information to overturn his election. Not one of the people involved has been brought to justice. That kind of spy state behavior is completely untenable for a country that wants to preserve free and fair elections — you know, the precondition for democratic self-government!

Democrats vilify Russia while acting exactly like Russia’s government. Republicans’ refusal to respond appropriately to such horrifying, authoritarian behavior from Democrats has ensured it will continue.”

  8. Again….

    Told ya’.

And also like I told ya, Fauci, the NIH, and EcoHealth are complicit.

“Sunday Times reveals that COVID-19 developed by military at Wuhan lab”

    https://hotair.com/david-strom/2023/06/12/bombshell-covid-19-developed-by-military-at-wuhan-lab-n557307

“You knew it. I knew it. Anthony Fauci and company undoubtedly knew it too.

But the US public health establishment has been denying it for 3 years because they were partially responsible.”

The UK’s Sunday Times, basically a centrist equivalent of The New York Times for Great Britain (The New York Times was actually named after the Times), has a bombshell report that COVID-19 was indeed engineered by the Chinese military using US funding. The US funding came through the EcoHealth Alliance.”

“The trail of money went, as we already know, from the NIH through the EcoHealth Alliance to the Wuhan Institute of Virology. The Chinese Military became involved in the coronavirus research around 2017 when gain-of-function research started bearing fruit.

The Times’ report, which I strongly suspect is absolutely true although I have to take the Times’ word on the provenance of the evidence, is based upon confidential documents leaked to them by investigators who were sent to Wuhan to study the outbreak. It also comes directly from the United States State Department’s investigators who were sent to China to investigate the origins of the virus. There are extensive quotes from those State Department investigators.

Scientists in Wuhan working alongside the Chinese military were combining the world’s most deadly coronaviruses to create a new mutant virus just as the pandemic began.

Investigators who scrutinised top-secret intercepted communications and scientific research believe Chinese scientists were running a covert project of dangerous experiments, which caused a leak from the Wuhan Institute of Virology and started the Covid-19 outbreak.

The US investigators say one of the reasons there is no published information on the work is because it was done in collaboration with researchers from the Chinese military, which was funding it and which, they say, was pursuing bioweapons.

The US had banned funding for gain-of-function research until the decision was reversed by Dr. Fauci, and the EcoHealth Alliance was enthusiastic about restarting their research into making viruses more lethal for research purposes. The whole point of gain-of-function research is to take benign viruses and make them dangerous and virulent, theoretically for research purposes.

Apparently, the Chinese military felt the same way about gain-of-function research as the EcoHealth Alliance. Very enthusiastic indeed.

    —-
The Sunday Times has reviewed hundreds of documents, including previously confidential reports, internal memos, scientific papers and email correspondence that has been obtained through sources or by freedom of information campaigners in the three years since the pandemic started. We also interviewed the US State Department investigators — including experts on China, emerging pandemic threats, and biowarfare — who conducted the first significant US inquiry into the origins of the Covid-19 outbreak.
    —-

Note that last sentence: some of this information comes directly from US government sources. The rest were from documents that were obtained either overtly or covertly from correspondence or scientific papers. Essentially they put together pieces of a puzzle that all fit together, and those pieces are confirmed by the State Department investigators.”

“Fox sends Tucker Carlson cease-and-desist letter”

    https://www.axios.com/2023/06/12/fox-letter-tucker-carlson-twitter

“Fox News has sent a “cease and desist” letter to Tucker Carlson as he ramps up a competing series on Twitter that drew a combined 169 million views for its first two episodes, Axios has learned.

Why it matters: The contract battle between Fox and its former top host — who was taken off the air in April, after the network’s historic Dominion settlement — has mighty repercussions for the conservative media ecosystem.

With “Tucker on Twitter,” Carlson and his growing production team are working to elevate Elon Musk’s social media site as a news platform.
Details: The cease-and-desist letter has “NOT FOR PUBLICATION” in bold at the top.

What’s happening: Fox is continuing to pay Carlson, and maintains that his contract keeps his content exclusive to Fox through Dec. 31, 2024.

Carlson is making a First Amendment argument for posting on Twitter, and asserts that Fox has committed material breaches of his contract.
Behind the scenes: Carlson’s first two Twitter episodes were straight-to-camera monologues. He plans to keep iterating with longer, more varied episodes and the addition of guests, Axios is told.

We hear some big names have been lined up.
Justin Wells, Carlson’s executive producer, tweeted yesterday: “Next Episode of Tucker on Twitter coming Tuesday: Tucker’s response to the indictment of President Donald Trump.””

  10. I was reading in Romans 14:10-12 about love being paramount in the gray areas and our need to allow God’s children to be taken care of by him. He is able. We must be careful not to treat others with contempt. That does not preclude vigorous discussion, however. Paul’s discussion was not about politics, but I think there is a general application of things that are in a gray area.

Accusations of bullying and assumptions about some of us not supporting others here are not helpful, IMO. All of us carry hurts and pain. Assuming widows are too fragile to engage in discussion goes a bit too far in the application of that scripture, IMO. We might also realize that those going through cancer treatments are also struggling.

Someone expressing an opinion about what we believe is just that: an opinion. We can deny it, but the person may still believe it since they see actions bearing that out. The person may still be wrong and there may be no ‘proving’ it on our part. That is when we trust that God knows the truth and we can rest in him.

I have been accused of being too lax about homosexuality and, also, of hating those in the LGBetc. community. Neither is true, but I doubt those people changed their minds. God knows the truth and we will all stand before him.

I, certainly, apologize to anyone whose feelings I may have inadvertently hurt. However, I reject the idea that I was wrong to not scold another believer. I am sure I will not change some other’s opinions and that is okay.

We all come on this blog with our own histories and issues. There is no way we will know all that when we give our opinions. Written discussion is limited by its very nature. Grace is needed on all our parts. I pray for it in my own writing and in everyone else’s. This whole episode made me extremely sad, as I know it has others.

  11. Yesterday, I read a column written by a Dr. Micheal Roizen, which was in a small newspaper. In it he says that getting another RNa whatever, actually now increases chances of getting Omicron for those who already got the shot and boosters. Yet, mandates are still out there in health care facilities etc. And people are still fired. So wrong. I am beyond disgusted with what the Democrats forced in legislation this year. And, yes, people need to wake up. Parties change, times change.

  15. Waterloo — my university years. One of the best university cities in Canada. Block after city block in which nobody is over 30 (Cdn unis don’t provide dorms after the first year). Street parties with thousands. Brings back memories. I’m sure someone deliberately “burned” rubber on the cross walk not sure why this is worth a tweet or a response from American commentators.

“gender affirming care” – not sure what that means. Someone could make a case that it means affirming a child’s natural gender. People need to stop projecting adult ideas into children. My daughter wore boy’s clothes when she was 8-9 years old. Her mom worried it meant she may be butch or trans. My daughter just thought they were cool – skater boy clothes. I was like hey they’re cheaper than girls clothes, so I’m good. Now if she still dressed like a boy and was gay; I’m still good.

Of course there were agent provocateurs at the J6 rally. That’s standard operating procedure but people still are responsible for their actions. Just because someone says invade the capital doesn’t let you off the hook.

Rich people support both parties. Don’t think Republican rich people – Musk or Trump – are any different than Democratic rich people.

Of course China is in Cuba and so is the US (Gitmo). The US is spying on the Chinese/Russians spying on the US. Everybody spies on everybody and that’s been par for the course since organized states were created. There are no secrets anymore.

  16. Debra (from a few days ago, only that thread is old), the issues on this site aren’t because news is depressing. People who post on here but refuse to accept the “party line” 100% are belittled, openly mocked, and told they’re responsible for the state of the country. Who you vote for has become more important to being respected on here than is anything else. Scripture tells us we are to be known as believers by our love–and especially how we treat widows and orphans–not by our politics. This venue has become hostile to many participants.

I have tried to “mediate” a little bit on this, because I care about the offended parties and I also care about the spiritual health of the offenders. But it looks as though the offenders have continued to either ignore the issue altogether (e.g., AJ) or insinuate that the offended ones are just being childish, too sensitive, or immature (you have written several such posts, but others have as well). I wouldn’t have posted on here at all except that I care about people on both sides.

This blog has become a hostile environment. I plead with those of you who are Christians to consider whether your participation on here has been loving, whether you have loved fellow participants including those you consider to be “the least of these” and those who are vulnerable. Had this issue been handled in a godly way over the last few days, with repentance from those who have sinned, I would have been likely to have returned myself. As it stands now, I can only feel sorrow about how a setting that could have had good discussion and goodwill among Christians who don’t always agree on every detail has descended into this, and to plead with those on here to consider what it looks like to have conversations among Christians (with some unbelievers looking in).

I see no point in saying anything else on this blog.

“The network is accusing Carlson of breaching his contract, which he still has with them until the end of 2024.

“Fox News continues to ignore the interests of its viewers, not to mention its shareholder obligations,” attorney Harmeet Dhillon told Axios.

“Doubling down on the most catastrophic programming decision in the history of the cable news industry, Fox is now demanding that Tucker Carlson be silent until after the 2024 election,” she continued. “Tucker will not be silenced by anyone … He is a singularly important voice on matters of public interest in our country, and will remain so.”

Dhillon said because of Fox News’ actions, she decided to no longer appear on the channel.”

“”For all the friends who have been asking ‘why don’t we see you on Fox anymore?’ — This is why. I am passionately committed to free speech and a free flow of information necessary for a free society. Until Fox stops trying to silence Tucker, it’s not a place for me,” Dhillon explained. “And I feel for my friends working at the network which has clearly caved into pressure from some quarter to silence [Tucker Carlson]. What you are seeing on Fox today is a censored version of the news. Keep that in mind as you make your viewing and your commenting choices.”

  19. Many European countries collect a church tax for state recognized churches. To avoid the church tax one must belong to an independent church, another religion, or none. In some cases, you are assumed to be a member of the state church unless you state otherwise. The German Protestant Church is a federation of Lutheran and Reformed churches for which the government collects a church tax. A resignation is the means a person has to use to avoid paying the church tax. For the most part, resignation is to avoid taxes and not to protest church policy.

A lot of personal services contracts have a non-compete clause. Carlson’s lawyers better read the fine print. I’m pretty sure a corporation like FOX would have this covered.

I can’t help but think that these troubles are golden opportunities to allow God to shave off all our sharp edges and perfect our ability to love. That’s the way I see it for myself, and I have no intention of wasting these sorrows and light trials, for time is short. Perhaps there is not much more to say at this point other than I pray you have personal health and blessings in all your family. And in all things, speak the truth, speak it in love, and grow up in all ways into Christ who is our head. I look forward to meeting you some day— if not here, then there.
