Prayer Requests 6-9-23

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget Jo and the folks in PNG.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 125

A song of ascents.

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
    both now and forevermore.

The scepter of the wicked will not remain
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
    their hands to do evil.

Lord, do good to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.
But those who turn to crooked ways
the Lord will banish with the evildoers.

   Peace be on Israel.

  1. Prayers continue, Aj.

So sad to hear what happened to that family, Michelle. Prayers for them, too.

Also, prayers for the Fellowship of the Blog as named by Chas.

And the family of the young man who lost his life in such an unexpected tragedy yesterday. May the Lord bring healing to their hurting hearts and may they know He is with them….

And I have been thinking of Chas so much lately….oh what would he think and what would he say?

  3. Praying with you Warriors.

Lord, I know You hear Your children praying. Please give the good gift of complete healing to AJ. Please give him all the good benefits of effective treatment and no bad side effects. May he feel good and have a sense of peace and regaining of his health that You supernaturally provide.

  4. Thank you. C was about 12-13, lived in rural Idaho.

(His teenage sister saw us eating lunch in a Reno casino exactly a year ago tomorrow. She and the grandmother who was driving yesterday, approached us, reintroduced herself, and I–who had prayed for her the day before–jumped up and hugged her in joy. She looked so good after that terrible riding accident–which the same grandmother witnessed. )

The extended family here has been through so much in the last year–his great-grandmother died at 101 just a few months ago. It’s so curious how God orders the number of our days, isn’t it?

    Hold your family close.

  5. Praying with you about all these things.

It took a long time to get a call back from the doctor’s office yesterday, but they finally gave the okay for Mrs B to increase her post-op pain med. (She had said that the pain was worse than giving birth without paid meds.) The pain is much lessened and she slept well last night. Thanks for your prayers.

  6. I shared the link to “Let’s Turn Pride Month into Prayer Month” yesterday, but decided to share each day’s prayer.

Here are the prayers for the previous days and today’s:

“June 1: Pray for boldness of believers this month to speak the truth in love with our neighbors, family members, and friends regarding “pride” topics.

But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in every way into him who is the head – Christ. (Eph 4:15)

June 2: Pray for the Church to demonstrate compassion to those caught in the snare of homosexuality, a transgender lifestyle and those who struggle with same-sex attraction and/or gender dysphoria.

Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and dearly loved, put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, (Col 3:12)

June 3: Pray that the truth of the Gospel of Christ will set free those who have been enslaved to the pernicious master of sexual immorality of all types.

Then Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you continue in my word, you really are my disciples. “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:31-32)

June 4: Pray that our civic leaders—local, state, and national—will govern with wisdom, integrity, honesty, and humility. Pray that God will lead them to make decisions in keeping with His moral will and that those who do not know Christ would trust His death alone for salvation.

First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. (1Ti 2:1-2)

June 5: Pray for pastors to remain true to the Word of God, unashamed of the Gospel of Christ, unintimidated by outside threats. Pray that they’d walk in wisdom, humility, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.

Shepherd God’s flock among you, not overseeing out of compulsion but willingly, as God would have you; not out of greed for money but eagerly; not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. (1Pe 5:2-4)

June 6: Pray for disciples of Christ to walk in wisdom as they interact with a world benighted by sin. May we demonstrate wisdom that is from above—pure, peace-loving, gentle, compliant, and full of mercy—not the demonic wisdom of the world.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace-loving, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without pretense. (Jas 3:17)

June 7: Pray for opportunities to initiate, develop, and cultivate redemptive relationships with people who identify as LGBTQ+ with the aim to show them the love and truth found in Christ.

While he was reclining at the table in the house, many tax collectors and sinners came to eat with Jesus and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? ” Now when he heard this, he said, “It is not those who are well who need a doctor, but those who are sick. (Mat 9:10-12)

June 8: Pray for families that have been broken by sexual sins: marriages that have been shattered by pornography or adultery. Intercede on behalf of “trans widows,” women whose husbands have left to pursue a life as a transgender woman. Pray for the God of hope, the God of peace, and the God of grace to meet these hurting hearts in the valley of their suffering. May God redeem their suffering in such a way that they may be able to help others walking the same difficult path.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. (2Co 1:3-4)

June 9: Pray for parents who have recently found out that their son/daughter is pursuing a lifestyle of homosexuality and/or transgenderism. Ask for wisdom, comfort, grace, and peace as they grieve and seek to move forward with the grace of Christ. Pray that they know the nearness of God though their hearts are broken.

My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart, my portion forever. …
But as for me, God’s presence is my good.
I have made the Lord GOD my refuge,
so I can tell about all you do. (Psa 73:26, 28)
