Morning! Husband came home early…like 5am early! They drove through the night and now he is sleeping. Me and the dogs? Just sitting here waiting for the snow to fall ⛄️
Good morning, NJ. It sounds like an exciting morning there already!
And Art made it home by midnight. When he was going to leave the office the clouds let loose so he waited 45 minutes for that to stop. Then all but one lane was shut down on the major Interstate for construction last night. He said he should have stayed at the office and spent those hours working. Not much rest for TaxMan.
It is a beautiful, sunny day here. We will have a whole lot of melting going on. There are lots of fields around us that look like lakes right now. The rivers are roaring. A couple of young teens have had to be rescued after they tried to swim in a river. Brrr. Snowpack makes it impossible to know where the land ends on the edges of rivers, but there are always people who just do not take the precautions they should. Human beings are no match for raging waters. These are the days one is happy not to live close to a river or lake.
okay, I gave in and turned the propane wood stove on to take the chill off for a bit. A sunny day and I plan to do a bit of shopping for the little things that I need for my trip.
Neighbor dog Phoebe (who can easily get out of her backyard because the fence is so short) was in their driveway and barking and barking, nonstop, from around 5 to sometime after 6 this morning.
I suspect the coyote spotted yesterday morning in another backyard may have been rambling about and causing the commotion — all the trash bins also are at the curb this morning, so perhaps some enticing smells.
Phoebe, who’s a retriever mix, was once chased down the street by a coyote at around 2 a.m. She made it home safely; I missed the commotion. Other neighbor was watching and cheering her on from her front porch.
Debra, I posted a couple of books from Amazon at the end of the just war discussion on yesterday’s political thread. The first one I have around here “somewhere.” 🙂
So it’s gonna snow in Colorado, California is cold enough for Jo to be chilly, while here in Connecticut, where it is supposed to be chilly this time of year, we will have record or near-record heat today. 🙂
In our area, it will get up into the upper 80s, and maybe spill into the low 90s. Hartford will be in the low 90s, as it is always hotter there than here.
When I looked at the Funnies for today I really liked the more serious one showing seed planting and then the growth of what was planted to be in the form of a cross. It was to illustrate for a child how something dead and buried can raise up to new life.
We’ve usually had an early spring heat wave by now. Best we can do with an anticipated “warm up” will be the 70s this weekend at the coast (low 80s in the valleys)
It’s cloudy out this morning, 55 degrees currently going up to 62.
We’re set to go past 80 today for the third day in a row, with more of the same forecast for tomorrow. Flowers are only just starting to bloom so it feels like we skipped directly from winter to summer.
Good morning, all. Beautiful day in the neighborhood here. Blue sky and sunshine abound. Supposed to get up to forty six today, definitely short sleeve weather. Even my dad went out with just a winter coat, hat, and gloves added.
As for my morning: shower, Bible, exercise, set up breakfast for dad, off to take twenty one her food for the week (she is vegan this week), she requested getting back on her meds as she was dealing with severe headaches so I refilled her med dispenser, then visited for a few minutes with twenty five daughter and invited her to a discussion time with her husband and her best friend and me present to keep the discussion civil, then back in time for husband to leave about eight forty for the car tire appt he had made for my car in Lewiston, then settled dad down to a history documentary and did the dishes and visited with granddaughter, went out and foraged some breakfast veggies to go with my eggs for breakfast, and now visiting with you.

Flowers are really blooming in my side yard, roses and dogwood and geraniums, lots of bursting color.
The bougainvillea in front lives on, of course, but looks a little under the weather (literally). It think this year provided a little too much rain for that drought-tolerant, colorful bush.
Those birds are back dive-bombing through my covered front porch and onto the tall flowering bush just a couple feet away at the bottom of the stairs, back and forth they shoot. I feel like Mission Capistrano when the swallows have returned.
Writing up, in advance, the LEGO ship building contest we’re photographing tomorrow at the maritime museum, but I have a doctor’s appt at 1:40 where I think they’ll be dilating my eyes, so it could be a short work day.
At this point in our spring, we are only now getting buds on the trees, and the grass is getting green, but I haven’t seen any flowers yet. It feels so odd to have summer-like weather with no leaves on the trees.
I am just glad that the humidity is way down, so the house feels pretty comfortable with one AC on and the living room fan.
I was short on time to get ro my PT appointment so forgot the hoodie I had planned to wear over my short sleeve T-shirt. I was fine going over, but when I came out of the building rain was pouring down and although I had a covered walkway to valet parking I still got hit with cold damp thick mist/splatters. I felt shivery.
After PT I went to Kosher Kroger to pick up meds and groceries. By the time I got out the sun was turned on full blast and the inside of the car felt cozy. The short drive home still did not completely thaw me out so my warm upstairs feels good right now. I put on my white hoodie and have one black and white tuxedo cat in my lap. She missed me!
I have found that as I am getting older, I am much more bothered by cold than I used to be, but I am also more bothered by heat than I used to be. (I’ve always been bothered by heat, but it’s worse now.) 😦
Well I ran errands before meeting two friend for lunch. As we enjoyed our lunch we watched the rain begin to fall. As we finished up we noticed big fat snowflakes falling. That was our cue to leave for home! If the Springs was getting snow we certainly were getting a double portion in the forest . I took our older friend to her home …she is close to 90. We noticed cars with quite a few inches on their hoods as we made our way north. Thick slushy snow on our roads now and the wet heavy snow continues to fall…fire danger not an issue at the moment! It’s Sprinter once again!
Thanks for that link and heads up Kim. A dear friend is holding onto her land after the fire destroyed her home ten years ago. She has been solicited many times by realtors and private land seeking buyers and she does not want nor need to sell. While visiting her property one weekend a neighbor across the road came over to tell her a man in a white truck has been on her property often driving his truck all over her 5 acres. She found it was the eccentric man with adjoining property. They thought he was going to try and claim the land for himself. Friend’s husband set up a barrier fence between the adjoining properties as they could see he had been accessing the property from his as well as using her driveway. They had to put up a locked chain across the entrance with a no trespassing sign and they notified the sheriff. The neighbor who had informed her is an attorney and she and her husband will be calling them if any more monkey business happens. It is good to know your neighbors and for them to have a contact number just in case.

Friday!

So it’s gonna snow in Colorado, California is cold enough for Jo to be chilly, while here in Connecticut, where it is supposed to be chilly this time of year, we will have record or near-record heat today. 🙂

It is 65° at noon here in Atlanta. Near perfect for my needs, but rain is expected. It looks bright out under cloud cover currently.
