Prayer Requests 4-3-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 75

A psalm of Asaph. A song.

We praise you, God,
    we praise you, for your Name is near;
    people tell of your wonderful deeds.

You say, “I choose the appointed time;
    it is I who judge with equity.
When the earth and all its people quake,
    it is I who hold its pillars firm.
To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’
    and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
Do not lift your horns against heaven;
    do not speak so defiantly.’”

No one from the east or the west
    or from the desert can exalt themselves.
It is God who judges:
    He brings one down, he exalts another.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup
    full of foaming wine mixed with spices;
   he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
    drink it down to its very dregs.

As for me, I will declare this forever;
    I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
    but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”

  1. Praying for my church elder, T, who undergoes surgery for colon cancer at noon today.

    Pray that this surgery will remove any and all malignancies.

    And for comfort and encouragement for him and his family.

  2. Please pray for Atlanta to get this crazy street racing/dragging under control. It’s so dangerous. It disrupts everyone’s overnight rest. And it brings undesirable characters to town. It has been downtown the past several nights near Georia State University. I guess they fan out from there. My friend, Karen, heard them in an intersection and perhaps in the Toco Hills Shopping Center lot and then they came this way and were in our nearby closed down mall lot last night. It is such lawlessness. Some guys on tv were all excited and said it would be all summer long. A guy from Miami said he’d never seen anything like it even there.
    Thank you for praying peace for our city.
    Also, last Wed. the bank ATM at the nearby closed mall area exploded at 3 a.m.
    Such uneasy times.

  3. We’ve had the racing issue, too. LA opened this made-over historic bridge a year or maybe 2 years ago and it immediately was taken over by street racers. We’ve had spectators hit and the cars have gathered at several spots throughout the region, police just try to keep up. I think LA actually had to just close the bridge to keep them out, which was sad.

    I sometimes hear engines roaring in a distance late at night here when I’m in bed, but not sure where that more local spot might be, I haven’t seen anything about it on social media (but I’m not on social media that much anymore).

    This is something that picked up during the pandemic I think?
