I spent the last few days going through my photos. It was hard. Good memories butβ¦. I got rid of most pictures of my ex. After 27 years it was time. There are still a few but most are gone. I even cut him out of pictures.
One I cut him out of the middle. It was the last time we spent with my dad. We were at a lake for my daughter tenth birthday. I should have been in that picture.
It was very emotional. If you think I shouldnβt have done it, please donβt say anything.
I did make a pile to give my ex. I even found some from when he was a little boy. Lots more of his family, very sweet folks, to give him
I am sorry to hear that you are having to go through all that now, Jo. The only thing I went through, which was by no means on the same leve,l was when my long term boyfriend and I broke up in my late twenties. The first thing I did was to get rid of almost all the photos. It really helped me to do it up front, but there was no family, pets or children involved. So.Very.Hard.π
Glad we could be here for you in that regard, Jo. I know each situation is unique. I have a divorced friend who after about ten years had to see her ex about a financial matter and I was surprised that she still thought he might apologize. Feelings run so deep and expectations sometimes never seem to go away.

I can not imagine the pain of divorce. If it helps and does not hurt, go for it.
