Prayer Requests 3-15-23

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 57

For the director of music. To the tune of “Do Not Destroy.” Of David. A miktam. When he had fled from Saul into the cave.

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
    for in you I take refuge.
   I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
    until the disaster has passed.

I cry out to God Most High,
    to God, who vindicates me.
He sends from heaven and saves me,
    rebuking those who hotly pursue me—
    God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

I am in the midst of lions;
    I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
   men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
    whose tongues are sharp swords.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

They spread a net for my feet—
    I was bowed down in distress.
   They dug a pit in my path—
    but they have fallen into it themselves.

My heart, O God, is steadfast,
    my heart is steadfast;
    I will sing and make music.
Awake, my soul!
    Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.

I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

  1. Update on Jessica: She popped a fever and is found to have pneumonia. No surgery while fever is present, so still waiting for pelvis and leg to be repaired. Thank you for your prayers. Please continue to pray for restoration.

  2. Please pray for this family, the mother is a friend of mine.
    “A” has a daughter who has a daughter from a previous relationship. Almost a year and a half ago she remarried. About the time she realized the marriage was a mistake (drugs and laziness), she realized she was pregnant. The doctors found problems with the baby and for a while it was thought that the baby would be born with issues. Now the woman is at 31 weeks, they have found a family who wants to do an open adoption and the mother is in the hospital with high blood pressure and kidney problems. They have given her the shot to develop the baby’s lungs and are trying to get her to 34 weeks.
    There is a whole lot going on that I haven’t typed out but will you please pray for grandma, grandpa, mother, big sister, baby, and the people who want to adopt the baby.

  3. Father God, You made Jessica in Your image for Your good purposes. I know her healing will be a long process. Please turn this time of physical healing into a period of reflection and learning about You and Your love and how Your plan for her abundant life means that she needs to put full trust in Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Please restore her to what You meant for her to be since she was formed in her mother’s womb. May her restoration spill a sense of urgency into the rest of the family to get right with You and each other. Please quickly bring her through this infection and into the greater healings. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  4. Just saw Kim’s post.

    Heavenly Father,j

    You know this whole mixed up family situation that Kim asks prayer for today. The children are innocent yet they suffer from the bad decisions of their parents. I pray You will redeem the situation. Please turn it for good for the sake of the innocent children. I ask, too, that the parent’s lives could have a complete turnaround and get on board with You. I know You do that with the lives of some who would be least expected to make such drastic changes. May this be the wakeup call for both the parents, the grandparents, and any other witnesses to the devastation caused by rejection of Your good plans for lives. Please give a healthy delivery for the mother and child and bless the adoptive parents in innumerable ways for their sacrifice and following Jesus in caring for the orphans in the world. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
