Prayer Requests 8-23-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 34

Of David. When he pretended to be insane before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he left.

I will extol the Lord at all times;
    his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the Lord;
    let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me;
    let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he answered me;
    he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
    their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
    he saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
    and he delivers them.

Taste and see that the Lord is good;
    blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.
Fear the Lord, you his holy people,
    for those who fear him lack nothing.
10 The lions may grow weak and hungry,
    but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
11 Come, my children, listen to me;
    I will teach you the fear of the Lord.
12 Whoever of you loves life
    and desires to see many good days,
13 keep your tongue from evil
    and your lips from telling lies.
14 Turn from evil and do good;
    seek peace and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous,
    and his ears are attentive to their cry;
16 but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil,
    to blot out their name from the earth.

17 The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them;
    he delivers them from all their troubles.
18 The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
    and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

19 The righteous person may have many troubles,
    but the Lord delivers him from them all;
20 he protects all his bones,
    not one of them will be broken.

21 Evil will slay the wicked;
    the foes of the righteous will be condemned.
22 The Lord will rescue his servants;
    no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

  1. Praying for DJ, Janice, NJ, and TwentyOne. Also praying for Kevin and his house that covid will pass by without leaving a single scar of any kind on anyone in the household.

    Lord you are our protector, our provider, and our healer. We ask for your divine protection to surround us who are in need—physically, emotionally and spiritually. Let no disease or root of bitterness take hold to harm us who love and trust in you. You are the fortress and refuge we run to in times of trouble, and you are the one we praise for your mighty works. Let your peace, which is beyond our ability to generate for ourselves, fill our hearts and homes. Let all these trials resolve to your glory; and may Christ Jesus in whose name we pray, be lifted high in all things.

  2. It is hot here–in the 90s again–and I’m physically and somewhat mentally dragging. I’m about to go teach Bible study, drive across town, and then narrate my book in the hottest time of the day in an unairconditioned studio.

    I listened to my readings from last over the weekend, and last Tuesday, the hottest day, I sound slow and tired. Thursday I took several breaks, I just couldn’t maintain the pace clearly.

    Could you pray for a modulation in the temperature, better sleep for me, and clarity as I read today–not to mention speaking the truth in love as we finish studying Malachi this morning.

    Thanks.

  3. I am sensing that my oldest daughter, who lives here, is angry at me. I don’t know what about. I just sense that I should just wait a bit before asking her. And that I should stay away. Not a good feeling. And not at all what I pictured for when I returned. We are all very different now.

  4. Thank you, Debra. Your prayer means so much to me now.

    Prayers, Michelle. The heat does drain life out of people, plants, and animals. Could you use one of those neck wraps that have a cooling substance enclosed to keep the head feeling refreshed?

    Prayer for milder temps and overall feeling refreshed. May God give the gift of more energy despite the heat. May He grant innovative ideas on how to stay cooler.

    Thank You, Lord, for gifting Michelle in these ways and in the words she speaks during Bible study. Thank You for all the ways You are working things out for Michelle today. Each provision will be turned into something to be used for Your glory. I pray for these things in Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Lord, please make a path of clear communication between Jo and her daughter. Do not let resentment or bitterness fester. Please bring clarity and set in place a way of keeping short tabs on conflicts. May Jo know the truth and feel set free from this uneasiness. May love flow abundantly. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  6. Not sure if I’ve mentioned this before, but Nightingale will be gone for a few days over an extra-long Labor Day weekend. (She’ll be leaving Friday morning and coming back sometime on Tuesday, probably in the late afternoon or evening.) Boy will be with his other grandparents from Saturday morning until late afternoon or early evening on Monday.

    Since I will have nearly three days by myself, I asked Nightingale if she could get a reservation for Janie in a boarding kennel. (I may have mentioned this previously.)

    You may remember my great disappointment at her not being able to get Janie in anywhere when she and Boy went on vacation at the end of June (and my annoyance that she didn’t even try until two days before they left). I am so hoping for this break. Please pray that she will get on this very soon, and that she will find a place with an opening for Janie.

  7. Prayer for you, Kizzie, to have a restful break without responsibility for Janie. Hopeful Nightingale will recognize the thorn in the side that this repeated behavior causes you. May God ease the tension and bring a sense of peace to your heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  8. Please pray that I can decide whether or not to board Miss Bosley for three or four days. She could have her ‘Senior Cat’ wellness check while there. But she is super clingy when she comes home, so there is that.

  9. Kizzie, is there a neighborhood child who could take care of Janie’s needs for a small payment? I cared for my ndighbor’s dog for about two weeks when I was fairly young. Is Gabbie still nearby?

  10. I don’t think Gabby would be reliable at this point. Plus, I think having to deal with her would be more stressful than just taking care of Janie myself. 🙂

    And praying for Jeremiah
    Word is still being a pill and I cannot like anything and must log in each and every time 😞

  12. Hate that, NancyJill.

    Thanks for the prayers. He remembered what he needed to except the accident itself. His hip hurt, but X-rays say the bone if okay. He was sent home, so thanks to the Lord for that. He and his grown son were putting a wall up and it fell back on him.
