It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.
Anyone else?
Psalm 144
Of David.
1 Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle.
2 He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me.
3 Lord, what are human beings that you care for them,
mere mortals that you think of them?
4 They are like a breath;
their days are like a fleeting shadow.
5 Part your heavens, Lord, and come down;
touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
6 Send forth lightning and scatter the enemy;
shoot your arrows and rout them.
7 Reach down your hand from on high;
deliver me and rescue me
from the mighty waters,
from the hands of foreigners
8 whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
9 I will sing a new song to you, my God;
on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
10 to the One who gives victory to kings,
who delivers his servant David.
From the deadly sword 11 deliver me;
rescue me from the hands of foreigners
whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
12 Then our sons in their youth
will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;
14 our oxen will draw heavy loads.
There will be no breaching of walls,
no going into captivity,
no cry of distress in our streets.
15 Blessed is the people of whom this is true;
blessed is the people whose God is the Lord.
My uncle did pass away yesterday. I never knew him well or my cousins. I have now come to know one of them, however, via Facebook. I have around 70 cousins on that side of the family, and they are scattered around. This is another instance of the good side of social media.

I found out yesterday that the spouse of a young relative has stage four cancer in his lymph glands. It is slow growing and doctors have recommended to wait for chemo until after the Covid cases slow down. Please keep Frank in your prayers. I have no idea what his spiritual status is.

One amazing thing about God’s family is that we can pray for each other and each other’s connections and know that the Lord of Lords hears and cares.

Praying for your family Kathaleena…and for Frank ♥️ Connections can be a good thing. Husband won’t do Facebook but he asks me what’s happening in the family from time to time. The only source I seem to have with many friends and family is FB. I see photos and get information about what is happening in their lives…that’s the good in social media I suppose

The bad of it is that those posting on there think everybody sees it so neglect other forms of contact thinking everybody is keeping up. Not their fault but it is a breakdown in communication.

True Mumsee…I have a friend who will only “message” on FB and she gets upset if I do not respond. If she would text my phone I would be notified quickly…not so much on FB as I am not looking at that much…so it goes

I have a couple friends who use FB msgr, one good friend who uses both that and phone text so we’re always bouncing back and forth between those two.
I’m sorry about the loss of you uncle, Kathaleena. Seventy cousins? Wow. Our families were always kind of small so I can’t even imagine having 70 cousins; although maybe I didn’t know all of them that were “out there,” either.

I refuse to answer FB messages unless absolutely necessary. I have an automatic reply which gives them the address to my website contact form.
I made that decision after I got hacked through FB messages.
I took FB off my mobile devices and now talk to people while standing in line in public (What? Standing in line in public and TALKING to people? What about the scourge?).
No problems so far, and lots of fun conversations as a result.
