🙂 I saw my paternal uncle for the first time in 18 years.
🙂 While exploring Twitter on my phone that morning, I discovered the Getty Museum was holding an unprecedented exhibit of works by my favorite 16th-century painter. (Go ahead and laugh–doesn’t everyone have a favorite 16th-century painter?)
🙂 Lovely evening jamming with husband’s jam group. I ended up bringing maple sandwich cookies and spiced almonds and pecans I made. There was a charcuterie board made up by the hostess, Kizzie. It was yummy. She had lots of yummies along with vegies and dip. She also made a chocolate beet cake. Others brought a variety of canapes or other finger food. One member always brings homemade ice cream and it was a delicious blueberry. He has brought homemade ice cream to anyone he hears has any health issues ever since his wife died of cancer many years ago. He figures he has worn out a half a dozen ice cream machines.
Everything I had was delicious. I didn’t have cake, because I had too many sweets already. However, everyone else liked it. The guy, who gave me beets and was going crazy with way too many, (even places who take food don’t want to have to deal with them) asked for the recipe for the cake.
It’s common. Every men does it, even those growing beards.
I came in here just as I finished shaving.
Glad it’s over for the day.

Not sure, Chas. I have a couple of sons who seem to grow no facial hair at all. Not sure they have ever shaved. No leg hair either.

🙂 We had a short but wonderful trip to LA.
🙂 California is beautiful.

His name is Hans Holbein.

Since my uncle lived just north of the museum, we had time to stop in and visit!
I hadn’t visited an art museum in two years. So wonderful. And Los Angeles was clear as a bell. What a great view from the Getty!
🙂 Saw my west side relatives and a rambunctious puppy.
🙂 To thank us for our trip, our daughter put us up in a beautiful 1910 Craftsman B&B overlooking Pasadena. Such a lovely spot!
🙂 She also treated us to dinner.
My husband later laughed, “She’s come into her own with a real job and some extra money. Let her treat us.”
We were home Thursday afternoon. Short but sweet, and I’ve even stowed away all her possessions. She’ll come north for good next week.
We have so much to be thankful for–including those 8 inches of rain! LOL

Kathaleena – Hubby loved maple anything. Aldi’s has or had (maybe they’re seasonal?) some maple sandwich cookies that he loved.
Blueberry ice cream sounds delicious!
