Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 150
1 Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing,
praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord.
This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. But there are sorrows.

Man is born to trouble as sure as sparks fly upward. 😦
I prayed for Nightingale when I heard the forecast, Kizzie. So glad she got home safely.

Praying for your husband, Cheryl. I am surprised he got that when you are so seldom out and about. I still need to get the second shot, as well. So many things put off because of Covid.

The Covid vaccine has made my arm fairly sore, but yes, now I’m thinking I need to take care of that 2nd shingles shot as well. I’m nothing but a pin cushion now.
I’ll wait until after the 2nd Covid shot on 2/21, then a month after that I’ll plan to get in for the 2nd shingles shot.

It doesn’t require exposure to get shingles. Shingles is just chickenpox reemerged from latency. Chickenpox is a herpes virus, herpes varicella, and all herpes viruses have the ability to go latent, or dormant in the body after infection. That is why cold sores can keep reemerging, they are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Stress on the immune system if any kind can trigger the herpes viruses to reemerge. The virus is already there, latent in the body, just waiting for an opportune time to reemerge. Since the chickenpox virus goes dormant in nerves, it spreads along the nerve to form blisters on the skin where the nerve endings are. Hence why shingles is so painful and can cause neuralgia even after the infection is finished. That is one reason why chickenpox has begun being vaccinated against, because with natural infection, the herpes varicella virus just goes latent. Vaccination can prevent that latency from ever happening with the childhood chickenpox vaccine, or with the shingles vaccine, prevent the latent virus from being reactivated.

I thought that was the case (no exposure needed to trigger shingles) but wasn’t sure, thanks for the information.
I didn’t get chicken pox until I was in my late 40s. But shingles sounds like it’s no fun at all.

I’ve known a few people who have had it and it can be quite painful and long-lasting

Or it can be fairly easy. Mine was a mild case. Which probably means repeat. May have been stress induced.

I got the first shot and will go for the next one when I am in the states again.

Doesn’t the second shot have to be given within a certain period of time?
