Prayer Requests 12-1-20

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 112

Praise the Lord.

   Blessed are those who fear the Lord,
    who find great delight in his commands.

Their children will be mighty in the land;
    the generation of the upright will be blessed.
Wealth and riches are in their houses,
    and their righteousness endures forever.
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
    for those who are gracious and compassionate and righteous.
Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely,
    who conduct their affairs with justice.

Surely the righteous will never be shaken;
    they will be remembered forever.
They will have no fear of bad news;
    their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear;
    in the end they will look in triumph on their foes.
They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor,
    their righteousness endures forever;
    their horn will be lifted high in honor.

10 The wicked will see and be vexed,
    they will gnash their teeth and waste away;
    the longings of the wicked will come to nothing.

  1. Prayer for daughter and son in law and husband and children. Today is the court date. Tomorrow, husband plans to come home. He hopes the two will join him for a sit down talk about the future before he heads home. They are planning on him bringing granddaughter with him just leaving younger grandson with them as other has gone to daughter’s bio aunt for a visit. Enough to be responsible but not so much as to be totally overwhelmed.

  2. Chas, daughter, mother of the twins, goes before the court today on the domestic violence in front of a child charge. We expect it to be dropped but she needs an eye opener so perhaps God has other plans. Then Mike will come home from his duties of babysitting and mediating between daughter and her husband. That leaves the young couple with decisions to make. Will daughter pursue divorce? Will she decide to work on her marriage? Who will be taking care of the children if they separate? Neither can afford childcare but they have to have it if they are working. For now, one child is with the aunt, one is planned to come here, and they will have the most medically fragile to care for as they try to work this out. No idea how long it will be. They have family in Boise willing to help with child care but they have to communicate their needs and have not been good at it thus far.

  3. My friend Shirley is convincing herself (I’m afraid) that she can’t take care of herself anymore. Now this has all developed in just a few short weeks and since she’s come home from rehab she’s only been eating jello and fruit cups with ice tea. No wonder her energy isn’t returning; I suggested some toast and chicken soup but she was not keen on that. It’s like she’s giving up, she even said the plan all along was for her niece to take her in when she “got old.” Well, she’s not “old” in that sense to my way of thinking, but she does have some health challenges for sure.

    Anyway, pray that she can get maybe some encouragement at her doctor’s appt today and that she will start to regain a will to carry on, start doing some better self-care by eating some real food, and be motivated to “get back to it.” It’s more discouragement than anything else right now, I’m thinking.

  4. Case postponed for two weeks. Daughter is going to have to cool her jets but don’t think she has it in her. She is very strong as long as everything is done her way. Change something and she is toast.

  5. The twins are approximately 4 lb 12oz and 4 lb 14 oz. Yeah, I know, apparently we still use pounds & ounces up here for babies – it’s what we all understand and compare to our mother’s and grandmother’s babies’ weights.

    Baby A is still partial breech so another ultrasound in two weeks if they haven’t arrived by then.

  6. Sounds like the babies are growing nicely, Kare. Will pray for Baby A to turn as needed in the remaining time before birth.

    I’d like to request prayer for the unborn baby sibling of my 3-year-old student. Baby is healthy, but Mom L is now having weekly ultrasounds — I think the due date is in late January — to check baby’s welfare. Something is unusual about the attachment between the placenta and umbilical cord, so they’re making sure baby continues to be safe and nourished.

    Mom appears calm about it all, but let’s add prayers for her, too. Dad T, as well. Thanks.
