Prayer Requests 3-11-20

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 37:1-9

Of David.

Do not fret because of those who are evil
    or be envious of those who do wrong;
for like the grass they will soon wither,
    like green plants they will soon die away.

Trust in the Lord and do good;
    dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.
Take delight in the Lord,
    and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the Lord;
    trust in him and he will do this:
He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn,
    your vindication like the noonday sun.

Be still before the Lord
    and wait patiently for him;
   do not fret when people succeed in their ways,
    when they carry out their wicked schemes.

Refrain from anger and turn from wrath;
    do not fret—it leads only to evil.
For those who are evil will be destroyed,
    but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

  1. You all know how much I love my boy, King Amos Isaac. A couple of years ago he started coughing. The vet we used put him on prednisone but it wasn’t helping. Finally, I took him to a different vet that diagnosed him with tracheal collapse and gave him the canine version of robitussin. It quit working and now he has medicine from a compounding pharmacy in Arizona. Phenobarbital and two kinds of bronchial medications mixed. He won’t get better. I want him to be comfortable and stay with me a little longer. Now the trick is how do I get 1.2 mg of liquid medicine into a little dog who is quite adept at avoiding medication? Pill pockets were working with tablet. This morning he had a scrambled egg.

  2. Husband had a long sleepless night last night as he was up with baby girl a lot. But that meant daughter actually got some sleep but that is good because she gets to bring home baby boy today! They are all in exhaustion mode already. Unfortunately, the aid we thought was coming from the Christian connection has not materialized. I don’t know if it is on daughter’s end or the other. God knows. Prayer that that will work out however God is best glorified.

  3. My former (retired) pastor is in the hospital with pneumonia (no fever or other issues). I love him and his wife, they’re both so special. Pray he’s up and out of there soon. As it is, he’s now on a permanent, portable oxygen supply which has slowed him down a bit, but he still occasionally comes to our church to preside over communion if our own pastor is out and no other ordained member is present. He and his wife are members of a sister church across the bay, it’s closer to where they live now.

    A friend from the dog park days — M, an older woman, retired RN — is having hip surgery today. Pray for a smooth and successful operation & also that this season will prompt her to consider the things of God more seriously. She was raised Catholic (in Canada) and now only jokes about God and prayer and how fallen-away she is.
