Prayer Requests 2-5-20

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 5

 A psalm of David.

Listen to my words, Lord,
    consider my lament.
Hear my cry for help,
    my King and my God,
    for to you I pray.

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice;
    in the morning I lay my requests before you
    and wait expectantly.
For you are not a God who is pleased with wickedness;
    with you, evil people are not welcome.
The arrogant cannot stand
    in your presence.
   You hate all who do wrong;
you destroy those who tell lies.
   The bloodthirsty and deceitful
    you, Lord, detest.
But I, by your great love,
    can come into your house;
   in reverence I bow down
    toward your holy temple.

Lead me, Lord, in your righteousness
    because of my enemies—
    make your way straight before me.
Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
    their heart is filled with malice.
   Their throat is an open grave;
    with their tongues they tell lies.
10 Declare them guilty, O God!
    Let their intrigues be their downfall.
   Banish them for their many sins,
    for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
    let them ever sing for joy.
   Spread your protection over them,
    that those who love your name may rejoice in you.

12 Surely, Lord, you bless the righteous;
    you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

  1. Well, it has been nearly a week with two under thirteen months in the house. I cannot imagine how daughter is going to do with three! But she will do it.
    Prayer for us as we continue to work towards helping little boy understand sharing with baby.
    And pray for us as worker is stepping back. Her folks are concerned for her and brought in and investigator to find out if criminal activity had taken place when she was under eighteen. Worker is not happy and as she is also only eighteen, might be best if she not show up. But that leaves me interfacing with daughter and the two little ones. Wisdom, patience, strength. Thanks.

  2. Please pray for a young colleague of mine. (L) I’m not at liberty to go into all the details, but, for starters, she just returned to work yesterday (teaching 22 piano students at the studio where I also work) following her 2-month maternity leave with her fourth child; she’s homeschooling; and her husband is away for 6 months with military training. There are other big things I can’t divulge. She is a strong believer, but needs prayers as she copes with lots of major events all at once. I saw her yesterday, just before she started her teaching day, and she was teary for a while. (She’s usually pretty tough, taking everything in stride, but she’s quite overwhelmed at this point.)

    Thanks.
