Five. It’s a prime number. It also is the first significant digit in 57. You all know that number. This year, all of the four winners in this contest have a significant life event from that year of ’57. Chas was first. He was married that year. Kevin won the next week. He was born in ’57. Then I won the next two weeks. I, too, was born in ’57. So, is it Mumsee’s turn to win? Or will there be a repeat winner? Or will one of the others finally break through. There’s only one way to find out. Tune in next Sunday or Monday to see the winner. You can also join in the fun by posting your guesses to the following ten games.
Seven. The other significant number in 57. Post your guesses before 7:00 EDT Friday. That’s when the first game starts.

Thanks for re-sending Peter. The first one went to junk and I missed it.

Chas;’ wild guesses. The fact that all but two picks are home games is coincidental. It’s the way I see it.

Interesting. The ones who either live or have lived out West chose Arizona, the Easterners picked UCLA. Traditionally. that would be wise. But UCLA is struggling big time this year. They started 0-2 against unranked teams, then lost to Oklahoma (few can beat that team this year) and then won a wild one (67-63, a basketball score) against a ranked opponent. Maybe they finally found their groove. We’ll see.

Another repeat, but not a 2-in-a-row. It is another 57-er. Kevin wins again. He and Chas both guessed 8 correctly, but Kevin got the tie breaker winner correct. He also had the closest tie breaker score.
Here is how we all did:
Kevin and Chas – 8
Janice and I had 7
Mumsee, Mike and AJ had 6
Okay, Kevin, pick the tie breaker for week 6.

Well, well, a little nepotism? Congratulations little brother. It is not easy to get so many right. Or so it would seem. Do you happen to know any Ukrainians?

Ah, you’ve caught onto me, Mumsee. I’m half Ukrainian. My grandmother was born in Perecin, near Uzhgorod, and my grandfather’s parents were born in that region also. At the time it was part of Austria-Hungary, and has changed hands twice since then, but is now restored to its rightful place in Ukraine.
Our last name is an Ellis Island corruption of the original Ukrainian name.

Why does this not surprise me?
Husband worked for a trucking company made up and run by Ukrainians. Good people. A bunch of Baptists.
