Prayer Requests 9-25-19

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 48

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise,
    in the city of our God, his holy mountain.

Beautiful in its loftiness,
    the joy of the whole earth,
   like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion,
    the city of the Great King.
God is in her citadels;
    he has shown himself to be her fortress.

When the kings joined forces,
    when they advanced together,
they saw her and were astounded;
    they fled in terror.
Trembling seized them there,
    pain like that of a woman in labor.
You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish
    shattered by an east wind.

As we have heard,
    so we have seen
   in the city of the Lord Almighty,
    in the city of our God:
   God makes her secure
    forever.

Within your temple, O God,
    we meditate on your unfailing love.
10 Like your name, O God,
    your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
    your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11 Mount Zion rejoices,
    the villages of Judah are glad
    because of your judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, go around her,
    count her towers,
13 consider well her ramparts,
    view her citadels,
   that you may tell of them
    to the next generation.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever;
    he will be our guide even to the end.

  1. DCF had advised a month-long transition for Pastor Billy and Renee’s foster son (whom they had hoped to adopt, and loved as their own) to his birth mother. But on Monday, the judge ordered that the boy immediately go back to his mother.

    Billy and Renee’s hearts are broken. Please pray for them, and also for the little one and his family, especially for their salvation. Thank you.

  2. Very minor, compared to the above concerns, but I’m rather stressed and frustrated that one of our pastors did not send to us what we needed for our son’s weekly class tonight until today. We’ve told him we need this information soon after class, rather than right before the next one, so we can work more effectively with him throughout the week. It takes a LOT of repetition for things to sink in for 5th Arrow, with his developmental challenges (which the pastor is aware of).

    Furthermore, the worksheets, power points, binder contents, etc., are all goofed up in their labeling, where they’re put, when they’re sent (if they’re sent — some things haven’t been at all that I think were supposed to be included), etc.

    We need things a lot more organized in order to help him.

    Prayers that my emotions won’t spill out all over in an unhelpful way when I communicate these things (again) to the pastor.

    And for patience. Thanks.

  3. Daughter is home and plans are in place. The hospital told us we will be responsible for finding a place next time as they were totally unsuccessful this time around. That is fine. They gave her the Spartan treatment this time around. A mattress on the floor, no tv, no snacks, no company except health checks. Very well done. I commended them and thanked them again.

    Meanwhile, because I was dealing with eighteen year old yesterday, I was unable to attend the pregnancy appt with twenty two. She came home with the news the doc had told her she needed to tape her belly to assist the baby in turning into position. Malarky of course and I figured I was not giving her any tape so it was not happening. But she convinced grandpa to get it for her. I called the clinic and no, they do not recommend that sort of thing, and she is only thirty weeks so baby has a while before settling down. She is off to class now, she and I will have to talk later. That sounds dangerous for baby and for her. Wisdom. And may the truth come out, always.
