  1. Crossed it?

They’re miles past it. They’re no longer even pretending to be unbiased and neutral.

“The Media Crossed A Line This Week And There’s No Going Back”

“This has been one of the most hectic and disturbing news cycles I can remember.

It started off with three mass shootings within a 24 hour period, one in El Paso, one in Dayton, and one in Chicago. Because the latter two didn’t fit the narrative, they were essentially memory-holed right away. I don’t think the shooting in Chicago even made national news for the most part.

While acts of evil are distressing enough, it was the response to those shootings which has brought such a unique dread to the public sphere. Bad things have happened throughout our history, but the venom with which one side is attacking the other over things they had nothing to do with has reached a new level in the modern era. It really does feel like we are coming apart at the seams, with near majorities of the country being accused of “white supremacy” by some major figures simply for supporting a politician.

Driving the division, broad brushing, and hatred this week has been the liberal media. Whether it’s newspapers amplifying the disgusting rhetoric of people like Beto O’Rourke and Elizabeth Warren or the constant stream of divisive, racially tinged editorials that are being pushed out, there’s no question of their role. The cable news beat has been even worse, with one MSNBC host actually saying that Donald Trump wants there to be mass shootings while another threatened business owners as complicit in white supremacy who donate to the GOP.

I never thought I’d say this during the Trump era because things are always so crazy, but this week was different. A line was crossed by the media and there’s no going back.”

  2. Their so-called reporting reads like the script of these guys’ talking points, because it is.

    It’s pathetic.

    https://www.axios.com/warren-orourke-trump-is-a-white-supremacist-1d9eba24-c253-4437-b07a-d4b6641e660b.html

“2020 Democrats: Trump is a white supremacist”

“A group of 2020 Democrats have called President Trump a “white supremacist,” an extraordinary charge at an extraordinary moment in American politics.

Why it matters … This is a big shift from calling the president a white nationalist. Check out Merriam-Webster’s definition of white supremacist: “a person who believes that the white race is inherently superior to other races and that white people should have control over people of other races.”

Elizabeth Warren told the New York Times “without hesitation” that Trump gave white supremacists aid and comfort. “He’s done the wink and a nod,” she said. “He has talked about white supremacists as fine people. He’s done everything he can to stir up racial conflict and hatred in this country.”
Beto O’Rourke told MSNBC Trump made it “very clear” that he’s a white supremacist.
Bernie Sanders told CNN’s Jake Tapper over the weekend that he believes Trump is a white supremacist.
The big picture: 2020 Democrats have been driving the national conversation in the wake of last weekend’s twin mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton, calling for more gun restrictions and directing much of their criticism at Trump.

O’Rourke has been one of the most vocal anti-Trump figures since El Paso’s massacre Saturday. The former Texas congressman has said previously that Trump is a “white nationalist” who encourages racism and violence in the U.S.”

  3. Kamala’s record has come back to haunt her.

“Post-Debate Polling for Kamala Harris Shows Dramatic Drop in Support from Black Democrats

Support for Harris has also fallen significantly among female Democrats.”

“The new Quinnipiac University national poll shows that Sen. Kamala Harris’s polling bounce after the first round of Democratic presidential debates entirely evaporated by the end of the second round.

Harris polled at 20% the Quinnipiac University poll taken a month ago. A pre-second debate poll released by Quinnipiac on July 29th showed Harris’s numbers in decline, with her standing at 12%.

Their latest survey, taken August 1-5, has Harris polling at 7%.

What unquestionably is most troublesome for the Harris campaign is the dramatic drop in support from black Democratic voters, down to 1% after reaching 27% in early July:

In today’s results: Biden gets 47 percent of black Democrats, with 16 percent for Sanders, 8 percent for Warren and 1 percent for Harris

Contrast that with the pre-second debate poll from July 29th:

Biden gets 53 percent of black Democrats, with 8 percent for Sanders, 7 percent for Harris and 4 percent for Warren”

  4. So McConnell exposes the hateful left, and get’s locked out by Twitter for showing the world who the left really is.

Note McConnell is the victim here. The video is banned, yet Twitter is promoting #MassacreMitch.

    Nope. No bias here.

    https://hotair.com/archives/ed-morrissey/2019/08/08/nrsc-twitter-course-know-means-war/

“The NRSC has declared war on Twitter, and the battleground will be Twitter’s revenue stream. It started with Mitch McConnell’s campaign account tweeting out videos of protesters at his home, threatening violence against him for his political positions. In a headscratching move, Twitter suspended the @Team_Mitch account for violating its policies about making threats — even though McConnell was the victim of the threats:

McConnell’s campaign manager, Kevin Golden, confirmed the account was locked this morning “for posting the video of real-world, violent threats made against Mitch McConnell.” The video featured a clip from a recent protest outside McConnell’s home in Louisville, where participants reportedly donned clothing and held signs that read “Massacre Mitch.”

That moniker is a reference to McConnell’s opposition to gun control legislation in the wake of recent mass shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio.

Golden slammed Twitter over its decision, which he said the campaign unsuccessfully appealed. He said the company informed the campaign the account will remain locked until the video is deleted.

“This is a problem with the speech police in America today,” Golden said. “Twitter will allow the words ‘Massacre Mitch’ to trend nationally on their platform. But locks our account for posting actual threats against us.”

That certainly seems like a fair complaint, especially when one watches the video itself. It’s as awful as you’d expect:”

  5. So…. will the church who gave this criminal sanctuary now accept the responsibility for their role in this father of 5’s death?

Because they bear responsibility here. They own this too, since they were enablers of him as well.

    https://www.conservativereview.com/news/criminal-illegal-alien-avoided-deportation-church-now-allegedly-killed-father-five/

“Criminal illegal alien who avoided deportation in a CHURCH has now allegedly killed father of five”

“An illegal alien with a criminal history was ordered deported from Colorado by an immigration judge last December. In January, he sought refuge in a church and played the sympathy card in the media as if he had an entitlement not to be deported and “separated” from his family. He wasn’t deported. Now, in the ultimate avoidable death, this illegal alien with a long arrest record allegedly killed Sean Buchanan last Friday in a reckless driving crash. Mr. Buchanan is now separated from his wife and five children, permanently, in the grave.

Miguel Ramirez Valiente had the prototypical rap sheet of a criminal alien and a habitual drunk driver, yet he was never deported and was allowed to cycle in and out of the criminal justice system as if he were an American for years. He is a Salvadoran national who has been here illegally for 14 years. Valiente was arrested for reckless endangerment in 2011 and domestic violence in 2016. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to DUI and had his license revoked, according to records obtained by Denver’s Channel 7 news.

According to that local ABC affiliate, “One day before the deadly crash, his probation for that DUI was extended because he had not completed alcohol therapy and community service.” One person who knew him described Valiente as “an alcoholic and an abuser.”

Sean Buchanan was riding his motorcycle between Colorado Springs and Castle Rock on Highway 83 last Friday in preparation for a family move to a new location when he was struck by Valiente’s truck when it veered into oncoming traffic. It’s not clear yet whether Valiente was driving drunk in this incident.

The question is, how could someone be so known to authorities as a habitual public danger and also an illegal alien, yet he was going to alcohol therapy? Why was he not going to alcohol therapy in El Salvador?”

Here is where the details get maddening and implicate another corrupt loophole in our system never intended by Congress. Valiente was pulled over for a traffic stop in 2011 and would have been deported, but an immigration judge granted him relief and allowed him to apply for a U-visa as a victim of a crime. Many terrible criminal aliens have abused this loophole, which was originally designed for select few individuals.

The case was reopened against Valiente after he racked up more criminal arrests, and after he failed to appear in immigration court last year, he was ordered deported in December 2018. That’s when Valiente sought refuge in the All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church in Colorado Springs along with other illegal aliens. In January, he held a press conference crying about the potential for him to be separated from his family, and it was widely reported in the national media. “I can’t be separated from them,” he said. “I have always worked hard to support my family, and they depend on me.”

Well, if only he had been “separated” and removed. Sean Buchanan would still be alive. Yet because we have the rule of virtue-signaling and not the rule of law, he wasn’t deported, and we are left with no virtue but only signals. A quick search shows that not a single national media outlet (and very few local ones) picked up on the tragic sequel to Valiente’s non-deportation.”

“People On Joaquin Castro Target List Getting Harassed”

“Earlier this week, Rep. Joaquin Castro tweeted the names of Trump-donor constituents, connecting them to the businesses with which they’re affiliated, own, or otherwise invested. He shamed the donors, saying, “their contributions are fueling a campaign of hate that labels Hispanic immigrants as ‘invaders.’”

The entire ordeal backfired. As it should have.

Castro unintentionally included several individuals who also donated to his campaign, including Wayne Harwell who told Fox News, “I was also on a list of people that gave to Castro and if he dislikes me enough that he wants to put my name out there against Trump, I’m not going to give money to him,” Harwell told Fox News. “Obviously Castro feels pretty strongly against me.”

The Michael Berry Show published a voicemail received by one of the Trump donors on Castro’s list.”

  10. I think we can all distinguish between commentary and news. Its the difference between Chris Wallace and Sean Hannity. The right needs to stop complaining about the media…its tiresome and wrong.

Massacre Mitch is a refermce to the fact gun control legislation has passed the House but he refuses to let come to a vote in the Senate. Thus, he was given the moniker of Massacre to point out his responsibility. You have to deliberately misconstrue this to call it a threar.

Similarly, Moscow Mitch is based on hus refusal to allow election security bills passed by the house to come to a vote. The moniker points out his responsiblity in allowing the Russians ti infiltrate American elections. Again you have to be ahistorical and delibrately obtuse to think this has anything to do with a cold war from 30 years ago.

Income inequality is measured using the Gini coefficient. Its been in use for decades and its widely accepted. Intergenerational income mobility is similarly measured. There’s alot of information out there on its correlation to various social ills.

Here’s an article on inequality and homicide rate.

  12. A few thoughts on the ICE raid

    1) the raid occured shortly after the workers won a lawsuit agsinst the company. The company has yet to pay the settlemenf and with ICE deporting some of them, may not ever pay. Activists have noticed a pattern; workers will win awards for discrimination, harassment, and OHSA lawsuits and shortly after ICE will raid the place.

    2) The owner nor the managers were arrested. They lose a lawsuit, phone ICE and problem goes away might be a feasible scenario.

    3) ICE took those who couldn’t prove they were legally allowed to work. Who brings “papers” to work? My birth certificate and passport are safely secured. I only carry credit, debit, and driver’s license. Wonder if any of the 680 just lacked papers.

    4) Unless they quickly find 600 people the plant is closed and the Americans who work there are unemployed. Why should they be punished instead of the corporate officials.

    5) It was the first day of school in Mississippi. No provisions were made by ICE for the children of migrants. Luckily teachers abd the community made arramgenents. Duty of care belongs to the govt and the organization who took the parents.

  14. And it’s a complete BS narrative, and you and they know it.

The consequences are on them for their lawbreaking, just like it is for other criminals. Those criminal citizens can make the same complaint, yet the fact remains, they did it to themselves. They caused their family to be separated, just like the illegals did. Take some responsibility for your crimes. Own it. Any trauma on those kids is on the parents, and the parents alone.

“US Attorney Defends Mississippi ICE Raids: ‘We Are Unaware Of A Single Child That Is Without A Parent Today’”

“United States Attorney for the Southern District of Mississippi Michael Hurst, who helped coordinate the arrest of 680 alleged illegal immigrants in the largest workplace sting in over a decade, defended the rule of law and pushed back against claims that children were left in the lurch.

Appearing with guest-host Brian Kilmeade on Thursday night’s edition of “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Hurst said agents had specifically asked detainees if they had a small child at home. Those who did were allowed to call someone to help, while single parents and one of two parents were given “humanitarian” release.”
