Prayer Requests 7-19-19

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 138

I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
    before the “gods” I will sing your praise.
I will bow down toward your holy temple
    and will praise your name
    for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,
   for you have so exalted your solemn decree
    that it surpasses your fame.
When I called, you answered me;
    you greatly emboldened me.

May all the kings of the earth praise you, Lord,
    when they hear what you have decreed.
May they sing of the ways of the Lord,
    for the glory of the Lord is great.

Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;
    though lofty, he sees them from afar.
Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life.
   You stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes;
    with your right hand you save me.
The Lord will vindicate me;
    your love, Lord, endures forever—
    do not abandon the works of your hands.

  1. INDIA
    India captivates and overwhelms the senses of all who visit. A large, diverse country, India is filled with more than 2,500 distinct people groups who speak over 450 languages. A staggering 1.3 billion people are dispersed over 1.6 million sq.km. One of the least reached countries on Earth, 95% of its people have never heard of Jesus! Anti-conversion laws make it difficult to share the Gospel. Those who choose to follow Jesus are often threatened with loss of status, jobs, homes, and even lives. Many Christian organizations have been forced out, leaving people bereft of physical and spiritual aid. However, despite the intense persecution, Christianity is the fastest growing religion in India.

    Please pray…
    Training Christian workers is an urgent need and essential in the long term. There is, on average, one trained pastor for every six congregations. We need more trained pastors and evangelists.
    The house/cell church movement is rapidly spreading in many parts of the country, with estimates of up to 100,000 such gatherings. These movements are proving culturally appropriate, affordable, biblically authentic and very effective. Over 100,000 missionaries are working with indigenous missions, many trained to reach their own people. Pray that this will result in a massive harvest.

  2. My daughter flies to Nicaragua tomorrow night for her 7th eyeglass ministry. She flies alone and meets up with the rest of the team from church in San Salvador where they have 45 minutes to switch planes into Managua.

    Please pray for safety for this team and also a successful ministry to the people in Sabalos.

    The danger is in San Salvador and in Managua. They should be fine everywhere else. They are loved in Sabalos.

    Thanks.

  3. Pray for provision for my family. My parents were facing the prospect of replacing their furnace before the winter. Now their vehicle, which was a cheap used vehicle to begin with, is not working either. As I said earlier this week, they have no reserves to deal with the two crises at once, and neither do the rest of us who live in the house.
