  1. Before we start this morning, let me start off by saying my opinion on these “unpleasant people” (If only there as a shorter, accurate, 5 letter word to use here it would be so much simpler, but I don’t want to offend anyone’s delicate sensibilities) has nothing to do with sex.

When I say the Ewwwww! factor, it’s because she married her brother, which is gross. I’m not implying they had sex, or that their relationship was in any way sexual in nature. She did it to commit immigration, marriage, and tax fraud, as well as perjury. Fraud was her only purpose, not sex. I shouldn’t have to state this, but here we are….

    Now onto the Ewwwww!.

    And there’s a lot.

  2. Even more……

“Here’s the real background information about Omar’s ‘confusing’ marital history, in her own words. In 2016, Omar told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that she had married Ahmed Abdisalan Hirsi (Husband 1) in their Muslim ‘faith tradition’ in 2002, and that after having two children, they divorced in their ‘faith tradition’ in 2008. No marriage certificate was issued, and there is no documentary evidence for the divorce.

In 2009, Omar married a Somali immigrant to Britain named Ahmed Nur Said Elmi (Husband 2) in a wedding in an unglamorous suburban state registry. The officiator was a Christian minister named Wilecia Harris, now a pastor at the Great and Mighty Works Ministries in Richfield, Minn.

    And here’s the wedding certificate:”

“It’s possible that Wilecia Harris might have performed only a civil ceremony, which would suffice under Minnesota law. It’s possible that Omar and Elmi didn’t know the officiant was a Christian minister. Still, given that Omar was and is a proponent of her ‘faith tradition’, it’s strange that she seems not to have consecrated her second marriage according to Islamic law or Somali tradition. The full certificate also shows that, despite Omar’s ‘faith tradition’, the couple seem to have been cohabiting before their marriage

Omar refuses to answer questions as to when and how she happened to meet a British subject, or why she married him so soon after separating from the father of her children. Then again, she didn’t separate that much from Husband 1. Documents released on Monday seem to show that she and Husband 1 were living together in Minneapolis at the time of her marriage to Husband 2. And when Omar and Husband 2 went to college in Fargo at North Dakota State University, Husband 1 came too. That must have made for some awkward silences at the breakfast table.

According to Omar, Husband 2 went back to London in 2011 after a ‘faith-based’ divorce. But according to Alpha News, screenshots from Husband 2’s social media show him living in Minneapolis as late as August 2012. In the same year, she had a third child with Husband 1 and turned Husband 1 into Husband 3 with, she has claimed, another ‘faith tradition’ marriage. Regardless of the ‘faith tradition’ divorce from Husband 2, she was still legally married to him in civil law. Unwittingly or not, she was, as Ben Goldfarb admitted in 2016, now married to two people at the same time.”

  3. More bad news for the left and never-Trumpers. 🙂

And the media who mostly ignored the news.

“The news cycle has been insane the past few days so this hasn’t gotten much press, but it’s a pretty big deal.

After the Mueller report failed to deliver the silver bullet against Trump, those obsessed with taking him out (because it’s not like we have an election next year or something) needed a new hope. It couldn’t just be over and rationality that perhaps Trump simply didn’t break any laws wasn’t entertained. Instead, the dream shifted to the SDNY.

Take this piece over at Newsweek.

Legal analyst and Above the Law editor Elie Mystal told MSNBC on Saturday said that if President Donald Trump isn’t reelected in 2020, he could be arrested immediately by the Southern District of New York (SDNY) when he leaves the White House.

During a segment on AM Joy, Mystal explained to host Joy Reid that the SDNY investigation has elevated the stakes for the president when it comes to winning the 2020 presidential election.

“The irony here, that I hope it is not lost on people, is that the Trump Organization, which appears to be a massive criminal front, is so small potatoes that if Trump hadn’t run for president, SDNY wouldn’t care,” he said. “SDNY cares about stopping terrorists.

“Putting SDNY on the Trump investigation is a little bit like bringing in Sherlock Holmes to figure out who framed Roger Rabbit,” Mystal continued. “These people are such cartoonish criminals that now that SDNY is on it, they’re all going down.”

“You see, according to the media, the SDNY were pit-bulls. They were the career prosecutors free of scope limits and restraint. That was going to make all the difference. In fact, the real danger for Trump was never Robert Mueller’s investigation, no it’s always been the SDNY and they aren’t going to let this go. There were even #SDNY hashtags and T-shirts.

Well, so much for that. It was just announced yesterday that the SDNY’s investigation into the Trump organization and the Michael Cohen related “hush money” payments is over.

Judge William H. Pauley III announced that prosecutors in the Southern District of New York revealed this development to the court in a status report, as media companies including The New York Times, Associated Press, CNN, and Dow Jones & Co. have pushed to unseal the search warrant materials related to the case. The end of the investigation likely means no additional charges will be filed against anyone, including the president.

“We are pleased that the investigation surrounding these ridiculous campaign finance allegations is now closed,” Trump’s attorney Jay Sekulow said in a statement. “We have maintained from the outset that the President never engaged in any campaign finance violation.”

And with that, the last great hope for the left to nail Trump on something criminal has breathed its last breath. There will be no Trump in handcuffs. The SDNY isn’t going to expose mountains of fraud within the Trump organization and Cohen will not be bringing anyone along with him to prison.

As an aside, I could write another entire piece about how this shows just how clueless our chattering class in the media actually are. The grand pronouncements on the cable networks, the scathing, faux intellectual editorials, and the confident claims on Twitter, all completely wrong. Again.

But I’m sure there’s some state investigation they’ll latch onto now as the “real” threat to Trump. It never stops and they never actually learn anything from their past failures.”

  4. The feeding frenzies only work in one direction.

“We have seen this movie before.

When the media goes on a feeding frenzy against a Republican, there’s nothing like it.

That’s what happened to Mitt Romney in 2012 after the Benghazi debacle in which 4 Americans were killed on Obama and Hillary’s watch. The media wasn’t furious about the murders, it was furious about Romney’s criticism of the Obama administration, Dead Ambassador dragged through streets, MSM furious at Romney criticism of Obama.

It wasn’t the media alone, Democrats and the media moved in sync to damage Romney’s campaign just two months before the election. It was non-stop, as if the world was ending because Romney supposedly was impolitic in his criticism. The so-called journalists even coordinated their questioning to make sure the necessary gotcha questions were asked of Romney at a press conference.

And of course, some Republicans joined the chorus hoping to be spared the media’s fury.

In the age of Trump, there has been an endless series of media feeding frenzies, again in sync with Democrat political needs. For over two years we had an infinite loop of Russia-collusion, then obstruction of justice, media feeding frenzies.

We are in the mother-of-all feeding frenzy’s over Trump’s tweet about The Squad going back to where they came from to fix the problems there and then returning to show us how it’s done. That feeding frenzy is compounded by a 13-second chant at a Trump rally about sending Ilhan Omar back (to Somalia). Trump said he did not agree with the chant.

Criticism is fine, but the reaction is a complete overreaction, with feigned outrage just cover for political hate of Trump.

There was no such media or Democrat reaction when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez compared the United States to Nazi Germany by terming the detention centers for illegal immigrants “concentration camps,” and then doubling and tripling down on it. When Ilhan Omar, who previously suggested that Israel had “hypnotized the world,” said support for Israel was all about “the Benjamins” (money from Jewish donors), the Democrats refused to pass a resolution condemning specifically Omar and anti-Semitism, instead passing a watered down condemnation of all hate. When Rashida Tlaib engaged in Holocaust minimization and inversion, Democrats and the media made like it was no big deal. When Ayanna Pressley recently made an incredibly racist statement in response to Trump that she has no need for brown and black people who don’t hold brown and black views, it barely registered a blip on the media radar.”

    Lather, rinse, repeat.

  5. Thank you President Trump.

“Drug overdose deaths see first decline in decades”

“Drug overdose deaths declined in 2018 after years of increases, according to preliminary government data released Wednesday.

“The latest provisional data on overdose deaths show that America’s united efforts to curb opioid use disorder and addiction are working,” Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said in a statement. “Lives are being saved, and we’re beginning to win the fight against this crisis.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center for Health Statistics concluded, based on the provisional data, that overdose deaths declined by 5.1% between 2017 to 2018, the first drop since 1990. The steepest declines occurred primarily in areas that have been hit hardest by the opioid crisis, such as Ohio, Kentucky, South Dakota, and Alaska.

Though overdoses on prescription painkillers had been the primary causes of drug-related deaths since 1990, heroin, followed by fentanyl, overcame them in 2015. Meanwhile, cocaine and methamphetamine overdoses are on the rise. Azar said the Trump administration has enacted wide-reaching policies to try to stem the tide of opioid overdose-related deaths.”

  6. Celebrating a terrorist. This is the modern left, just like the Che loving old left.

“Far-Left Activists Celebrate, Hold Memorial For ‘Fallen Comrade’ Who Attacked An ICE Facility”

“On Saturday morning, a far-left armed Antifa terrorist was shot dead by police during an attack on an immigration detention center in Tacoma, Washington.

The terrorist, whom The Daily Wire will not name, was lionized and celebrated by Antifa and high profile left-wingers, such as racial activist Shaun King. On Wednesday, Antifa members also reportedly held a memorial for their “fallen comrade.”

An “Occupy ICE” Twitter account tweeted out the memorial information on Monday regarding a service set for Wednesday, as first highlighted by Big League Politics.

“Stand with us to honor our fallen comrade, [name], this Wednesday, 8:30pm,” the tweet said, adding the address of an ICE facility in Portland.

“Seattle Antifa Action has posted a eulogy & the ICE firebomber’s alleged manifesto on its Facebook page that was sent to friends before the attack,” journalist Andy Ngo reported on Sunday, posting a screenshot of the Facebook post in question. “In it, he allegedly wrote: ‘I am antifa, I stand with comrades around the world,’” he added.

“When our good friend and comrade [name] took a stand against the fascist detention center in Tacoma, he became a martyr who gave his life to the struggle against fascism,” Seattle Antifascist Action’s post said. “He was kind and deeply loved by many communities; we cannot let his death go unanswered. Throughout history we idolize figures like John Brown for their courage to take the ultimate stand against oppression, and today we stand strong in our support for yet another martyr in the struggle against fascism.”

“May his death serve as a call to protest and direct action,” the post concluded.”

  7. Racists!

“A recent survey by Washington Post/Reforma of Mexican adults finds that they are deeply frustrated with the immigrants who have swarmed into their country from Central America. More than 60 percent of those surveyed consider the illegal immigrants a burden on their country because they take jobs and benefits that should belong to Mexicans.

55 percent say they favor deporting illegal immigrants to their country of origin. 33 percent favor giving them temporary residency. Only 7 percent want to give them permanent residency. (The remainder expressed no opinion).

The existence of this anti-illegal immigration sentiment is manifest from policies adopted in the areas most heavily impacted by the wave of those fleeing nations to the south. Last week, the governors of three Northern Mexican states signed a document saying they could not accept any more immigrants.

Does this mean that a majority of Mexicans are racist? Of course not. Mexicans and the illegal immigrants they wish to expel are of the same race.”

  8. I don’t want to offend anyone’s delicate sensibilities.

Not meaning to create an extended diversion, but this is a statement Christians should make *with sincerity,* not sarcastically.

Anyhoo, continue w your otherwise generally good stuff, AJ. I’m glad to have a rare chance to pop in here and try to catch up on stuffs…..

“Trump called out by some Christians for using ‘Lord’s name in vain’ at fiery NC rally”

“The controversial “send her back” crowd chant at President Donald Trump’s North Carolina rally may have gotten all the headlines, but some Christians are grumbling over something most of the media completely ignored.

Trump cursed, and it was not just a few vulgarities. He took the Lord’s name in vain.

One state senator in West Virginia was so offended that he sent a letter of rebuke to the White House Thursday, pointing out Trump’s ”terrible choice of words“ during the Greenville rally.

Senator Paul Hardesty of West Virginia’s seventh district — which is coal country — started by admitting he is a conservative Democrat who supports Trump and his pro-coal policies.

“I am, however, appalled by the fact that you chose to use the Lord’s name in vain on two separate occasions, when you went off the prompter during your speech,” he says in his letter.

“There is no place in society — anywhere, any place and at any time — where that type of language should be used or handled. Your comments were not presidential,” he wrote.”

For once, the Democrat is correct.

  10. Now if they could only manage to condemn by name the anti-Semitie in their own ranks.

And I love how they leave Israel’s name out of it, even though they admit, it’s to target Israel.

“Dems decry Omar resolution defending Israel boycott: ‘Dead on arrival'”

“High-profile Democrats are decrying a controversial resolution from Rep. Ilhan Omar affirming the right to boycott Israel, even as they rally behind her and three other first-term congresswomen attacked by President Trump.

Omar, D-Minn., proposed the resolution earlier this week in a bid to push back against U.S. laws banning the Israel boycotts. The text of the measure affirms the right of Americans to organize boycotts of foreign countries.

While the resolution doesn’t explicitly name Israel or the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, she told media outlets that the resolution concerns the Jewish state.”

“We are introducing a resolution … to really speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our First Amendment rights in regard to boycotting,” Omar told Al-Monitor.

But Democrats, who rushed to Omar’s defense this week after Trump’s Twitter attacks that critics called racist, have once again been put in an awkward spot by Omar’s Israel criticism. Earlier this year, many Democrats condemned comments from Omar deemed anti-Semitic. Now, several members are making clear they’re not on board with her BDS resolution.”

  11. Oh come on……

    (Bangs head repeatedly on desk….)

““Manholes” are now “Maintenance Holes” in Berkeley, CA

“Councilman Rigel Robinson, a 23-year-old recent graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, sponsored the ordinance.””

“The city council of Berkeley, CA, just took another step in the progressive competition for wokeness. They have changed municipal codes to be gender neutral, in an effort to be more inclusive.

Filipa Ioannou writes at the San Francisco Gate:

Manholes in Berkeley will now be called ‘maintenance holes’

At a Tuesday night city council meeting, Berkeley became the first city in America to ban the use of natural gas piping in new construction. But that was not the only utility-related issue they saw fit to attend to. No, there was another matter on deck: Eliminating the gendered connotations of words like “manhole” in the city municipal code.

No longer will the streets of fair Berkeley be dotted with manholes, nary a womanhole or nonbinaryhole in sight. With Tuesday night’s vote, they have all been transmuted into “maintenance holes,” that highest, hardest glass manhole-cover finally shattered.

The item, originally on the council agenda for March 12, was sponsored by councilmembers Rigel Robinson, Cheryl Davila, Ben Bartlett and Lori Droste, reports Berkeleyside. The ordinance eliminates all gendered pronouns from the city code, replacing “she” and “he” with “they.”

“Manpower” will be referred to as “human effort,” and “man-made” objects will be described with terms like “human-made,” “artificial,” “manufactured,” “machine made” or “synthetic.”

Christina Coleman of FOX News has more:

Councilman Rigel Robinson, a 23-year-old recent graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, sponsored the ordinance. He tweeted, in part: “There is power in language. It’s a small move, but it matters.””

Once again the left is attempting to redefine language and words to their PC standards. Update coming to the AP Style Book in 3…. 2…. 1…..

  13. I see the AP is still carrying water for Ted Kennedy and his crimes even after he’s dead. Why am I not shocked?

  14. A Trump voter criticizing a politician’s marital history is amusing. . Male politicians have had complicated marital relations from Jefferson to Trump. But a female politician with a slightly complicated history….let’s exaggerate and make it worse.

For the record, she didnt marry her brother.

  15. I’m not a big fan of boycotts and embargoes against countries because they tend to hurt people who have to do with the policies. Hence I’m not a big fan of BDS. However, persons and any level govt should have the freedom to enact a boycott or embargo. What Omar proposed, whatever her motivations, is a free speech issue…you should be free to boycott.

  16. Perhaps Trump is responsible for the decline in opioid use but other reasons are also possible and valid.

The danger of opioids and prescription drugs is better known and doctors are more reluctant to prescribe them and people are more aware of the danger.

The morbid element of Darwinian natural selection….those prone to addiction have been/are addicted. The strong have survived

Finally millennials are less likely to use drugs. The use of marijuana for example is on the decline esp in states where its legal

  17. On the health care issue:

Rising health insurance deductibles fuel middle-class anger and resentment
By Noam N. Levey Los Angeles Times

… Many wealthy Americans — already reaping most of the benefits of the last decade’s economic growth — have weathered the dramatic increase in deductibles in recent years in part by putting away money in tax-free Health Savings Accounts.

Very poor Americans, millions of whom gained coverage through the 2010 Affordable Care Act, can see a doctor or go to the hospital at virtually no cost, thanks to Medicaid, the half-century-old government safety-net program.

Squeezed in the middle are legions of working Americans who face stagnant wages, insurance premiums that take more and more of their paychecks and soaring deductibles that leave them with medical bills they can’t afford.

“The system increasingly doesn’t work for this group in the middle,” said Drew Altman, longtime head of the Kaiser Family Foundation, or KFF, a California nonprofit that researches the U.S. health system.

This middle-class squeeze and the class divisions it is exposing are among the corrosive effects of the high-deductible revolution. …

… Six in 10 Republicans fault the 2010 healthcare law, often called Obamacare.

The law, for the first time, guaranteed Americans could get insurance if they’re sick.

It also gave millions of very poor working Americans access to Medicaid, which does not have deductibles. The expansion produced a historic drop in the number of Americans without health insurance.

But many health plans being sold on the law’s insurance marketplaces have very high deductibles, mirroring the run-up that has happened with job-based benefits.

And although the expansion of Medicaid is broadly popular, it has highlighted the strains on U.S. workers and their families. …

  18. AJ – I cannot answer for HRW, but let me assure you that I in no way thought your use of that word was referring to her and her brother, nor did I necessarily think you were actually accusing her of sexual misconduct. I simply thought the word to be very crude, and assumed your use of it was hyperbole, not an actual accusation.

  19. Woodstock, the Manson murders, and Hurricane Camille were the next month. I had heart surgery right before the launch. And started junior high a couple months later. Very busy summer indeed.

  20. Slightly complicated? She married her brother!

Call me when Trump marries his sister, then and only then, will you have a point……

And for the record, no American politician before her has ever married their own sibling. That’s nasty, and that freak show is all yours.

  21. I don’t care what Snopes says. It wouldn’t be the first time they lied to protect a Democrat. And as the numerous links above show, she clearly did marry her brother to commit numerous frauds. She also clearly violated numerous laws. When the DoJ is done investigating her they can and should revoke her citizenship and re-patriate her back to Somalia.
