Psalm 136

1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.

3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:

4 to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.

10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;

13 to him who divided the Red Sea[a] asunder

  1. CHINA
    In 1975, there were less than three million Christians in China; today, by the redemptive power of God, there are more than 100 million Christians. The transformation in China does not limit itself solely to numerical growth. The church’s passion and understanding of her role in global mission has also matured. Pray for collaborative efforts in mobilising, equipping and supporting Chinese missionaries to thrive in mission fields.

    CHINA
    Praise God for His grace upon the Chinese Church. May His Church continue to flourish in His love and truth.
    Pray for Chinese Christians to stand strong amidst tightening religious restrictions and to engage in cross-cultural mission effectively.
    Pray for more Chinese believers to share Jesus with more than 350 unreached minority peoples in China.

  2. I’ve been praying that a great awakening would spread throughout those in the Communist party, especially those in power. (As well as throughout the whole land of China.)

  3. Are you sure only 3 million? I’d guess a lot more in that enormous country.

    (Have been reading a lot of missionary to China stories circa 1930).

    Also, they estimate there are more Christians in China now than Communist party members— which is one of the reasons for the crackdown.

    Friends have seen a great change in how China deals with workers over the last 20 years— they’ve become less cavalier about worker injuries and deaths thanks to the influence of Western countries. (OSHA has had an impact.)

    I’ve also seen numbers that indicate more Christians in China than in the US.

  5. Seventeen daughter is very off. Complaining of headache, stomachache, jittery, etc. They have been letting her have coffee and caffeinated drinks at OUI, not good with her meds and she has been eating way beyond what she should be eating. Nerves, I believe. And non stop chattering.

    So…prayer for her that her peace would come from God and prayer for me that I would have patience.

  7. Wow! The Truth will set you free. Daughter confessed she has been listening to a particularly unhealthy singer while at OUI and when she ran away the other day, she stopped at the library to listen some more. They also let her go on a witchcraft site while at OUI and were not paying attention to her. Now she is feeling very good. Stomach ache is gone, headache is gone, shakiness is gone. God is working.
