Prayer Requests 6-25-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 119:153-160

ר Resh

153 Look on my suffering and deliver me,
    for I have not forgotten your law.
154 Defend my cause and redeem me;
    preserve my life according to your promise.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked,
    for they do not seek out your decrees.
156 Your compassion, Lord, is great;
    preserve my life according to your laws.
157 Many are the foes who persecute me,
    but I have not turned from your statutes.
158 I look on the faithless with loathing,
    for they do not obey your word.
159 See how I love your precepts;
    preserve my life, Lord, in accordance with your love.
160 All your words are true;
    all your righteous laws are eternal.

  1. For the last few years, Qatar has been under a blockade from many of its neighbors, and the only land border with Saudi Arabia is completely closed. The country has hunkered down to the realities of the blockade and the various disruptions caused. For example, they are now producing their own milk from cows brought in since the blockade. Internal politics have been stable in presenting a unified face to the outside world. Qatar’s great natural gas oil fields have allowed them to continue a lavish lifestyle. There is no real church among the Qatari people. Overall, there are very few Christian workers in Qatar seeking to be a direct witness to the local population. This is truly a dry and barren land.

    Please pray…
    The local Qatari population is significantly least reached: Older folks still value home-focused society, while the younger spend life Snapchatting in the Twitterverse. Pray for the Good News to reach the Qatari people and for communities of Jesus followers to be established among the Qatari.

    A Qatari man, in discussion about Christian marriage, was prompted to read Ephesians 5 in Arabic. He looked up after reading and said, “That’s dangerous!” “How so?” asked his friend. He responded, “If the local women read that, they’ll all want to become Christians!” Pray that more Qataris will read the Word of God and see the beauty of the reality of God’s amazing words.

    Pray for foreign Christians living in Qatar to seek community, fellowship and support in prayer.

    Pray that Christians who are “just living” in Qatar would see that God has called them to be lights in a dark and dusty land.
