Prayer Requests 4-15-19

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 75

We praise you, God,
    we praise you, for your Name is near;
    people tell of your wonderful deeds.

You say, “I choose the appointed time;
    it is I who judge with equity.
When the earth and all its people quake,
    it is I who hold its pillars firm.
To the arrogant I say, ‘Boast no more,’
    and to the wicked, ‘Do not lift up your horns.
Do not lift your horns against heaven;
    do not speak so defiantly.’”

No one from the east or the west
    or from the desert can exalt themselves.
It is God who judges:
    He brings one down, he exalts another.
In the hand of the Lord is a cup
    full of foaming wine mixed with spices;
   he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
    drink it down to its very dregs.

As for me, I will declare this forever;
    I will sing praise to the God of Jacob,
10 who says, “I will cut off the horns of all the wicked,
    but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.”

  1. As a relatively small minority group (10% of 2 million people) within a staunchly conservative Sunni community, the Shia of Saudi Arabia have endured centuries of hardship and discrimination.

    As disillusionment with Islam skyrockets among Saudis, it is imperative that we call out to God on behalf of the Shia people, that the Lord would prepare workers to engage them, and that Shias would seek and find true freedom and peace in Christ. Today there are very few workers focused on reaching the Shia of Saudi Arabia. Christ calls us to lift up our eyes to see the harvest!

    Please pray…
    That the Gospel would take hold of Shia communities, and that the Spirit of God would move mightily among their families and tribes.

    That the Shia of Saudi Arabia would seek first the Kingdom of Heaven above their own welfare and political freedom.

    That the Lord would raise up many workers to sow and to harvest the Gospel among the Shia of Saudi Arabia.

    For a spirit of righteousness and justice to flood through homes, communities, and the Saudi government; for peace to reign in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, where they would know Christ as the Prince of Peace.

  2. Was upstairs helping The Boy to look for something, and came across a book that Nightingale is reading – Elements of Pantheism. 😦 She had shown an interest in pantheism in the past, so it looks like she’s renewing that interest. You can imagine how my heart fell at seeing that.

    Recently we had been talking about her plan to one day have an intricate tattoo on her back that will incorporate symbols of her family members. She was trying to figure out what she should use to symbolize her father. She joked that she was not going to have a tattoo of a pen. After thinking about it, I suggested a Bible or a cross, since his faith was so important to him. Her response was quite cold. 😦

  3. I forgot to finish my request.

    Please pray that as she reads that book, or thinks about pantheism, or researches it in other ways, that her mind and heart will reject the idea, it will just not “stick”, even as she wants to believe in it, and that the Holy Spirit will remind her of the Truth she once seemed to know, drawing her to Jesus.

  4. Oh, also, please remember Nightingale at court today. (I left a request on the weekend prayer thread last night.) (She looked quite professional and pretty as she left the house this morning.)

  5. Praying for her and the court case, specifically, this morning.

    I have (and read) many books about things with which i do not agree or believe. Praying she will see the holes and the paltriness of Pantheism. It is quite popular today. She needs to look at it all. She will not accept what you believe. In the end that will make her faith much, much stronger. May God comfort your heart, Kizzie. Many, many prayers are going up for her and your grandson and Chickadee.

  6. Nightingale just texted me that she is on her way home. X filed for a continuance. He was the one who brought this case, so why should he be filing for a continuance?

    I think I forgot to mention that this case is due to him accusing her of contempt of court for supposedly not following the terms of the custody agreement. So it’s weird that he would be the one filing a continuance.

  7. That was my guess at first, Mumsee, but Nightingale says it because she and her lawyer brought a counter complaint as well as the filing for sole custody. The counter charge of contempt of court against X is for his not paying all that child support he still owes her.

    So he wants to get a lawyer now.

    One of my prayers in this has been that the judge (and now X’s lawyer) will see through his B.S. (excuse me for using that term, but I can’t think of a comparable-but-nicer word right now). He has a way of seeming to be the rational, responsible one, and he twists the truth all out of shape. Remember, several years ago, somehow he managed to talk himself into getting one of his jobs back twice after having been fired or walking away from it twice. (I guess this is also a trait among other narcissists).

  8. But yes, his bringing the complaint in the first place was a power play, a way to harass her legally, since he can’t harass her in person or by phone anymore.

  9. So she’ll settle out of court rather than go bankrupt fighting him. (Feeling cynical this morning since I haven’t had much sleep. I forgot to pray about this one in the middle of the night).

  10. Michelle – Of course, we are hoping it doesn’t come to that. We are hoping the facts will speak for themselves, and the judge will see through X’s ploy.

    Kevin – Yeah. I guess that is at least somewhat normal for these cases, unless they get contentious. Nightingale had decided she wanted a lawyer due to X’s way of hoodwinking people. Her first lawyer, though, was not aggressive at all, and she felt he was too wimpy. So she is glad to have this new lawyer.

  11. I do not mean to make light of the heavy subject, but just want to say I have never met a wimpy lawyer. That one was a waste and this would not be happening except for Wimpy.

    I have been praying as reading.
